Holy crap man! That engine sound is probably actually the front diff. There's a real chance your front diff is compromised since your CV grenaded itself. If you dont catch a bad CV in time, it chews up that front diff. Glad ur okay!
I can second this. My front DS cv shaft was leaking grease. Took it in to the dealer for assessment and they found not only was the DS bad that the passenger side outter cv shaft fused itself to the inner which intern was eating the front diff. Truck got a whole new front end under warranty (was told it would've been a $15K hit otherwise) and was down a week stuck on a lift waiting for parts. Get that looked at ASAP

If it's a popping noise that you get sometimes when heavy braking or when hitting a bump on driver's side then it's probably same noise we have and @ARInfidel had. He had his fixed via upper control arm & ball joint if memory serves. We're going to try & get that done at some point too.
I did the upper control arm and body mounts at the same time and my popping disappeared. Not sure which fixed it, but I'd guess the control arm.

Was accelerating after a toll booth, maybe 40mph. Felt like a flat tire in the front right. Pulled over and saw this.. The engine has a bad sound too now, hard to explain but a rattle that i've never heard before. Will update.
hey guys. My CV axle came off as well. I have no idea what caused it to happen. Here’s a picture.

Literally what happened to me! I hope you get that fixed without much issue. What were you doing when it happened? Yours looks way cleaner/less destroyed than mine.

My TRX has been stuck in the dealer since that happened June 19th.... Getting made a fool by Koons and Chrysler/Ram cares. Get a phone call telling me they confirmed with parts department that the part is there and ready, hour later get a phone call from the service advisor saying there is no part, no eta, no idea what's happening. Now it turns out that advisor quit, and there's no notes on the case. Worst part is that my mileage is so low.. If I did all this in the first 18 months it would've been a lemon.

Finally got mine back after all that time. New CV Axle on the passenger side installed, everything looks and sounds good as of now. The new axle looks distinctly different from the old one/driver side cv axle. Curious if its going to hold up better

I guess I'll add in my issue with my 2021 with 14,000 miles and a ripped up right side cv boot. I am replacing it with the 68679812AA. My conditions are Matagorda beach with deep soft sand. All stock

Good luck with the replacement! Been hearing horror stories about passenger side CVs fusing to the diff and becoming impossible to remove. Keep us posted on how it goes and def consider using anti-seize on those inner threads!

Thanks. My buddy has a Rebel and the last one he had to replace they had to cut the cv shaft length wise and hammer it off. I have been spraying some Kroil into the threads and letting that soak in. I don't understand the lack of anti-seize in the first place. Thanks for the support

I've never changed CV's out before, are they pressed in?

No, the cv axle fits over the shaft coming out of the differential. There is a c-clip in the female side of the cv axle that fits on the output shaft that pops in place when you slide the cv on. Hope that makes sense.

What’s been the success rate with the diff drop kit and the OEM CV axles? I had my passenger side replaced last April while it was still stock and have since put Eibach springs up front on 37 BFGs. Passenger side boot tore again, so I dropped it off at the dealership last Friday and they still have it. They’re saying there’s a problem getting the clip to stay in and have escalated it to STAR engineers or something. I call everyday to get an update and it’s the same crap. Is there a passenger and a driver side CV axle now or is it the same part number? Think I’ll go with the diff drop kit if it’s extending the life of the boots.
