Tonneau Covers?

I’m hearing the factory cover is not so good. Can anyone confirm and if so what is wrong with it? I ordered it with the factory cover and just called the dealer to see if they can drop that off the order. What’s wrong with the quality?
I read the same reviews but ordered the factory cover anyway. Unfortunately the reviews were right. It is a disappointing cover. Method of opening the cover is clumsy and requires both hands. Blows around like a ship sale when driving, so it’s not very aerodynamic. Only positive is it’s lightweight and is easy to take off. Won’t be difficult to remove when I replace it with something better.

OEM bed cover is the only part of the TRX that I do not love. Currently researching its replacement. Want something light but none of the aftermarket producers list weights. Leaning towards Weathertech.

The Truck Covers retractable cover with racks looks solid.

Looks like this latest model is only for keep gladiator?

I’ve always been happy with Truxedo. Hell, the Truxedo LoPro I had on my 2004 Ram is still on my dad’s 2007 Ram today and looks good (his truck sits outside 24/7/365).

Truxedo Deuce on my Power Wagon so I could access the tool box.

Truxedo LoPro on the Raptor (same thing will go on the TRX).

Retract Pro XR for sure!

We haul bikes, snowboards, kayaks, and other gear over the top of the bed all while pulling our camper behind us.

You can’t go wrong with this tonneau cover, it’s one of the most versatile and durable covers out there.

I’m also looking into finding what looks like the Mopar ram bar but it actually slides into the T-slot rails of this tonneau cover so it can be removed and used in conjunction with the cover
Any pics with the kayaks mounted on top? Thanks in advance!

Has anyone installed a 90+ pound retractable tonneau cover (Retrax, ect) and jumped their truck with it? (opened or coiled up?) Did it survive?

I have one on my 2019 Raptor and jumped it in Big Bend going 70mph+. No issues, it's been a solid cover. The only thing I don't like about it is the bed space it takes up.

I want to go in a different direction, I would like an orange fiberglass tonneau cover any suggestions.

After trying to get a cap somewhere near me for a reasonable cost, I decided to go with a cover. Being that my bed is used for some recovery equipment and the difference between a cap I liked and the Gator cover was like three grand I finally went with a gator and will spend the cash on other mods
Where did you order it from and did you get a forum discount?

I have a Diamondback HD, and had one on Power

Wagon also. Super easy to install, holds 1600lbs, never leaked, is very secure. I have had no issues on either truck. There is a ton of accessories for it, and you can mod it yourself. The bed liner coating has worked great also. It now comes in flat (no diamond plate pattern). They have rack, light, and storage box kits.

I'm pleased with the Peragon cover Glides smoothly to open and close, takes up minimal bed space when retracted, and is easily removable when 100% of the bed is needed. I have not tested it yet in a rainstorm for water resistance but no water has leaked during washing. Peragon CS has been outstanding when I've called with questions before purchasing and during my DIY installation. Price was excellent and shipping was fast. Does anybody have a discount code for BAK tonneau covers? Either bakflip.com or bakindustries.com?

For anybody that is looking, I found 10% off and free shipping at Leonardaccessories.com

They also sent me a $50 coupon off my next purchase of $400 or more. If anybody wants it?

I’ve had it for 2 years. Zero issues functionally. I think I got the poly carb. Only issue I have had is if anything g scratches up against it the paint comes off so I’ve touched up a couples spots over time.

ain draw back is you lose 11 inches of bed space for the canister.
The truck isn’t garaged so I’m sure there’s a little fading, but it still looks pretty good.
I sprayed it down yesterday, but I live on a gravel road so pardon the dust.

I plan on going with the same one aga

That looks like the RetraxPro XR that has the rail system?

I just installed the BAK Revolver X4s and really like it. My previous Power Wagon had the stock folding soft (trifold) cover and I was always taking it off to haul stuff in the bed. This X4s had already been easier to roll up and out of the way. If you need to remove it, there are 4 little knobs you can unscrew by hand. I like that it looks like a vinyl soft cover, but is reinforced with aluminum slats.

Finally someone that has this cover!!!! 1. love the look. 2. love the price even more.

Question.... because of how this retracts (folding down each panel), have you had any issues to where if something is stowed (or rolls) in the middle/front of the bed you can't retract it all the way because the item is blocking the fold? And then you would have to army crawl underneath the cover to get the item un-wedged...

The way the video shows the retractable feature, it seems like you would lose a lot of bed space - due to needing to push the panel down.

The cover panels only fold (accordion style) at the rear of the bed when they hit a ramp near the end of the bed. The retraction is powered by gas pressurized struts so once you push down (fold) two hinged panels at the rear of the bed all the panels will retract on their own momentum unless you stop them by hand. It’s ingeniously simple and really works smoothly both to open and close the bed cover (panels).

The panels won’t collide with anything in the bed underneath them except at the very rear of the bed where the rails initiate the folding. I think this system takes up less room than a permanent canister used for other retractable covers. Plus, 100-percent of the bed is available under the peragon cover until it comes time to fold it up so I suppose one could clear out anything that might interfere with the folding of the panels just before actually retracting the cover. Also, the entire cover is reasonably easy to remove so you can always get the complete open bed when needed.

This probably sounds a lot more convoluted and complicated than how it actually works. The peragon folks can explain it better and point you to some videos so probably best just to call them.

Good luck with whatever you decide. I have no regrets going with peragon both for its functionality and appearance.

This sounded scripted. :ROFLMAO: Like you've had to explain definitely more than once... Thanks for the insight!

I got a Gator Tailback Tonneau Cover. Really happy with it. I like the ability to remove it and how tough it is. Just my 2 cents.
