START OF 2024 PRODUCTION

6 cylinder in a TRX is like a world class power lifter/ bodybuilder that sings soprano. Just doesn't seem right. Ever see the body builder scene from the movie "Grown Ups"? 😂

I am out! Exhaust is weak (sounds like any other 6 cylinder turbo on the road) and power out puts aren’t exciting- especially when we have 700 now and sounds like the hurricane will be 500 something. My pops has the new twin turbo tundra 6 banger and you can’t even hear it. It’s torquey and all but no sole. It feels like a car engine in a truck. These new hurricanes will just make our trucks worth more and even more special. I know I will be holding onto my hellcat for a very long time. When the engine goes after 20 years, I plan to drop in another hellcat (demon, helephant or just another regular hellcat engine). Going to invest in a crate motor in the next couple years and keep it for when it’s ready for a swap. Maybe even build it up with a turbo kit or larger supercharger as well. It will be a project when all these assholes are plugging their cars in and messing around with 6 banger turbos.

Maybe they will put the 550 hp, 531 lbs torque Cat3 Hurricane in it.

No need to buy a new engine, if I was going to stash something back it would be a bare 6.2 block, $1850. you'll be able to buy rotating assemblies, heads and everything else for decades .

If this is how it is I'll keep my '23 until I die or the pull my license. nothing on it that can't be fixed or restored just like my muscle cars.

Yeah I got that now too. but most vehicles have inherent problems . find a big block Mopar that the HP manifolds don't roast valve cover gaskets out of. or the annoying whine of a Muncie M22. you just deal with it.

I’m gonna have to buy a stock of cv axle boots. Fix this trash ram

Big mistake not updating the hemi Both Ford and GM are developing new V8’s. The challenger and charger has thrived and have outsold their rivals even though they are ancient, mainly due to the V8 option. They can still offer that on the top end trims. If the next challenger and charger and Ram are only V6, sales are going to tank. If these high paid execs don’t see that, they should all be fired.

Ram will be smart to put a super quiet exhaust on the Hurricane and set up the turbo with a loud turbo whistle.
If a 1000 hp Hurricane is available as a crate engine..... would a 700 hp version of the Hurricane be available in the TRX? Has anyone with connections, heard what the 2025s will have for hp?

What I bet Ram will do is still make the hellcat TRX after 2024, but in very limited production and tack on a premium for it. Just like Ford does with the Raptor R. Then they will take orders for the TRX with HO Hurrican like business as usual.
The 6.2 is made on one production line and I was told that line is being shut down in Mexico to make the Hurricane HO engine.

Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer are kind of open IMO for what engine they use.
People don't really think about big SUVs for anything other than hauling a lot of people/stuff.
A hybrid I6 that can get 30+ in the city works for me. All I am going to do with that is drive it. Maybe put aftermarket wheels on it but thats it.

The trucks definitely have to win over buyers with that I6 sound. Even Ford was smart enough to keep the Coyote around in the F150. V8s and American trucks just go together. And I think Stellantis was very short sighted on this one.
The main thing with my Wagoneer reference is it was designed with the ability to swap between hemi, hurricane, or EV options without modification. This video shows even with a BEV, they still put in a transmission tunnel so they would have an ICE option. Even near the rear they'll interchange out the controllers for a fuel tank.

They'll be inline 6 or BEV. The hybrid option was having problems and they removed the mention from the Hurricane engine's press release last year. So hybrid's may be delayed or they are going a different route because they did have a big order of hybrid transmissions from ZF a couple years ago

TRX's have the 500+hp Hurricane H.O. from the Grand Wagoneer in 2025. I've seen pics of the engine in a TRX body leaked to me. The Hurricane CATx that will have 1,000hp I don't think it'll be street legal since it will allegedly be in the next Drag Pak, which of course isn't street legal.

BMW's twin turbo 3.0L inline 6 in the M4 is around 510hp and I don't see Dodge going over that without a hybrid setup. I think the TRX will be 500ish hp for the regular Raptor and then we'll probably see a trimotor Ram REV setup like a Hummer EV and that'll be the 1,000hp TRX

I’ve heard 512

I can't think of one example of a vehicle that has gone down in performance from one generation to the next or during mid cycle update. Especially a halo vehicle. I've seen a decrease in hp, like the C7 Z06 vs. C8 Z06, but overall performance was improved. For the the TRX to lose about 200hp and everything else to remain the same, except some new shocks is definitely going to be interesting to watch. If the rumors in this thread are true.

It's going to be interesting to see the sticker price and the ADM's.
First 2024 TRX Window Sticker came out last night during my scans. Base MSRP jumped $10640 ($95450 vs $84850 on most recent 2023 sticker)

Every other option that was on the 2024 remained the same price wise, Trailer Tow, ASG, BUG, Lvl2, Red Accents, Panoramic sunroof, Graphics, Rock Rails, etc.

Can you post the window sticker ?

This is why I ended up just buying a '23 at MSRP vs. a '24 at possible $10K off. I figured the likely increase in MSRP plus the 8 months or more depreciation on my Raptor value, waiting for a '24 wasn't worth it.

Fuck that.
My level 1 was 77,900. No way can they ask 95k for a truck with cloth/vinyl seats

Inflation on 78k from 2020 to today is a 92k truck. From 2021 its an 87k truck.
Inflation from base from end of 2020 early 21 is 82.6k.

They are taking all the profits they can get before it all goes to shit.
Either way, I'm out. Entirely
Stellantis ruined a great thing.
