RFH Lock now available on TRX trucks

Letting someone take your belongings with no opposition just tells them and others its ok to continue to do it and they will ramp it up. I don’t care what someone wants or their intentions, they get a single finger past the door threshold and lights out forever. If they are outside with a weapon and get stupid, again, lights out. You are more likely to be killed by someone in a home invasion for just being there when it happens.

Good luck when you’re sitting on your couch in Kentucky and they’re staring you in the face with a 9mm and your side arm is in the other room. You’ll make a good read on CNN though for calls about another pointless death during a home invasion and assault weapons ban.

Id rather let them drive away. To each their own.
I can guarantee that a firearm is not more than a foot away no matter where I am in my house, car, work ect and thats not including the one I carry. Putting bullets through the enemy is all I have known since my first deployment in 2004. Your training and situation has nothing to do with the rest of the world.

TexasReX what is a cheaper method and blocks 99% % of stolen trucks? Sometimes its hard to follow and keep track from post to post. Thank you
RFH lock, sadly it cannot be done in TRX yet.

key fob relay definitely can still steal your car, but so does every Ferrari/Bentley/Range Rover, why the thief steal an 80k truck if they already bought that $10k equipment for copying the signal?

Every stole TRX is stole because the thieves know they can use a laptop and $50 device to re generate a key.

Of course the only way to make your car invincible is to install some real anti-theft device. but typically you don't need to make it invincible, you only need to make it invincible to dumb people.

Ahh yes. A real domestic soldier… saving cars and trucks, one IGLA at a time.

Thank you for your service over seas. It should never be slighted or forgotten. This makes you a hero, in anyone’s book.

However…. Buddy… you’re not at war any more.’ Stand down soldier…. I don’t know if you have a wife, kids, grand kids, friends…. But take your finger off the trigger and watch some football. I’m a second amendment guy, but if you’re sitting on the John with a side arm in your hand…. You’ve got to reevaluate.
I build and collect firearms, thats what I do for fun. I happen to have a bunch of them and choose to be ready. Thats not something that should be taken lightly in this day and age. I carry, always unless it is prohibited and even then that place has security. I have seen and done stuff that will change the way anyone would think and its not something you just turn off. Thanks though. 💯

Food for thought here…. The thought of someone stealing your expensive car or truck is infuriating, right?

What If I told you that I don’t want it to be difficult to steal my truck or one of my other expensive European vehicles? You’d say, “are you nuts?” Feel free to insert other emasculating phrases and further follow with how you’d stare down your barrel and show them who is Murica.

However, I’m here to tell you that I am living in a location where international car thievery with access to coastal ports is literally an epidemic. I’m also here to tell you there has already been TWO attempts on my vehicles this year alone. The first attempt was broad daylight, the vehicles were locked and on my property. They made a quick try for the door handles and sped off. The second attempt, however, many months later was 12:20 in the morning. This time though, they didn’t try the door handles and speed off. They instead came right through the front door of my house looking for keys. In his right front pocket, was nicely positioned a revolver. I was awake and in a section of the home that didn’t immediately detect them. When they discovered me, rather than blow my brains out, they just ran out of my house, jumped in a stolen car, and sped off.

I could tell you a very macho story about how I chased them clear out of my house. I did. What I SHOULD tell you though is that also in that house was my wife and several of our children. No I don’t walk around with a 9mm strapped to my hip inside my house. So the prospect of having a shootout in my living room is rather fantasy. Unless you spend every day and night with it strapped, assume that you’re going to get caught off guard. I was. Fortunately for me, they decided not to blow my brains out and dispense with my family. They didn’t want the mess. They just wanted keys to my rides.

So back to my original statement, yes I want them to take the vehicles. I don’t want them to have motivation to come into my home. I don’t want to risk my family’s lives. I don’t want to infuriate Them with anti theft devices. I want them to slink into my driveway, have their way with my vehicles, and leave. We’ll all live another day. I have plenty of money and plenty of insurance. I only have one wife, and I only have one family, and I’m smart enough to know that several masked men, all with weapons, most likely are going to catch me off guard in the comfort of my home.

My advice is to think carefully about what matters most when deciding just how badly you want to roll the dice on whether or not they want to take it further.
Yes, $500 is not worth my life. I won't chase them even if I have my gun in my hands. I call the police and the insurance, get a fat check for the car and move on. Only thing lost is the loan rate I got, thanks Brandon I cannot find anything below 5% now.

I’ve seen and done some stuff too, 90% of which is solidly illegal in this country and would wind up with my ass in prison. Totally worth it if protecting family or friends, not at all worth it protecting luxury items sitting in the driveway.

Luckily not everyone is the same. I have busted my ass to get what I have. It isn’t luxury, its stuff that keeps my mind occupied and it doesn’t matter if its a $5 package on my front porch. Stealing is stealing. Would I shoot someone for trying to steal it, no, would I for my Jeep, not entirely but if carjacked ect, absolutely and I wouldn’t loose a second of sleep over it. If they entered my house, yes without hesitation. Not everyone thinks or acts the same. I am not one to sit back and watch someone take control of me or my “castle” and nothing will ever change. I worked for what I have, they will have to work to take it from me🤷‍♂️.

I’m in full agreement on if they come in the house or are actively a threat if outside the house. Same goes for the direct bodily harm threat during a car jacking, robbery while walking in public, etc, but not for a package on the porch or a car in the driveway. In most states shooting someone in your driveway stealing a car is a felony with prison time for you. Not saying that’s right, but that’s how it is.

No matter how you frame it though a TRX is definitely a luxury item. It performs no essential task better than a standard 1500 for half the price. Ass busting or not, TRXs are fun toys that can also fill the role of a daily driver but are in no way necessary.

Agree. I can tell you've got some flack for saying this as you're coming off pretty defensively here, but know that there are others who see this as reasonably as you do. Won't be long until we see stories in the news about a homeowner shooting someone in their driveway and getting time for it.

The real culprit here is the manufacturers for not providing the appropriate security which will ultimately disproportionately affect the customer. They seem more interested in making a sale and getting yet another when the vehicles get stolen. If I had the same stealing problem myself, I would not provide them with my hard-earned $. That's the only thing that could make corporations in this system listen. When people start elevating their concerns of security in their priorities when buying a vehicle, we'll start to see a shift in the manufacturers attention to these security systems.

I can’t imagine being in a combat zone, let alone being the combatant in a foreign land. Being the victim of a home invasion is enough to change my thinking.

I will leave you with one final thought.

Take care of yourself. It’s none of my business, but there is no shame in talking out some of this stuff with a professional and enjoy your toys. You earned it.
Thanks, I have seen several, my wife is there to talk to, she was deployed and we met at the same FOB in Iraq and knows what has happened. Killing wasn’t and isn’t the issue, its having to watch your good friends die and you have zero control of any of it. That will not happen in my house ect. Have a good rest of your day.

I’m jealous that you had women around. We usually saw one or two of them once every few months. It was like the old cartoons every time we’d be somewhere that had women.

Just pull the starter relay when parked in sketch area, airport overnight or in your driveway, easy just dont forget it or it’s gonna set off a ton of dash codes (I tried to start without it to see what would happen) that you have to unplug the battery to reset or if you have the tazer reset after you put back. The odds of anyone have the spare relay is slim to none unless they really are going sit and watch you to know.

Or for that matter pull a couple.

When we came off gun truck missions and had extra time we would go to the bunker and use the internet ect. She was the soldier that was there signing people in/out. I was building my turbo supra and was order Parts and having them shipped a bunch so we started talking. It was just after a buddy got killed and then my first kill. She listened and understood. Hard to find in others these days. Then she was by my side for the rest of the deployment, about 10 months.

you just pull the relay next to it and put it in that spot. There is another thread about it. Car companies use the same relay for multiple things, hi beam, low beam ect.

Thank you for the clarification! Seems almost impossible to believe that they have TFH lock for challengers and chargers and nothing for the TRX, i believe you though. Trunk monkey is perfect solution. Jeeez Dodge, come’on man!

trxpath very well said. I took a bunch of grief, well from several people who knew i was concerned about the lack of security on these vehicles to start with but also about how difficult it is to remedy that. Of course there is no 100% fool proof answer here but we know what helps and drastically reduces the odds that your srt will be one of the stolen ones. Its so sad that @dodgecares cant step it up for the security of its customer’s vehicles.

The system is a bit different between the 2 and I bet they do have the rf hub lock for the hub itself but not for the new uconnect side of it. When they do the hub lock it also locks the over the air uconnect updates ect. After the lockout, you would need to go to the dealer or manual update the uconnect. All other updates would be dealer only from what I hear/seen on the ones they are locking now

The rf hub lock only blocks the ability to hook to the can bus system and make a new fob, it does not block the relay/cloning of your fob signal and they can still start it and drive away. Ravelco will block the ability to start it even when the signal is cloned and igla will block all of them. Blocks new fobs from being made and they can’t start it even if you handed them the fob. There are several options for security, research them all and find the one (or a couple working together) that works best for you.
