RAVELCO THREAD

Short review... Installed a few weeks ago and zero complaints. Chuck and Megan were awesome. They clearly are professionals. Now I can park this bitch anywhere and not think twice. Highly recommend

I had the ravelco installed It is very simple and I like that It was also pretty affordable
I wish the cap had a more robust design The tiny little bump that guides it into the right position is so small im afraid im going to seat it wrong one day

I am interested in finding some type of "cap" that would fit over the plug that you remove from the dash and put on your key ring. It seems something that would protect the prongs from dirt or damage when it is in your pocket would be good. I have the cap that goes over the plug that is installed in the truck but it seems to me the cap portion that is removed would be more likely to suffer inadvertent damage.

Any thoughts on this from those that have had this system for awhile?

I’ve had mine for about two years now and zero issues, zero complaints and zero sleepless nights worrying that it won’t be there in the morning. No issues with dirt or anything that i feel i would need something to protect the prongs. It is ugly lol but mine is not visible.

I put mine in my pocket every day, and have yet to experience any issues with dirty prongs.

I can 3d Print you a cap for it, if you want one. I've designed it and can mass produce it. You can get it in any color you like. LOL

Thanks for the feedback, It sounds like it's not a problem to be concerned with. However if there was an option to have a cover I still wouldn't mind having one. Revelco only makes one for the plug mounted in the truck which that one definitely doesn't seem like it would need one.

@Vintabu, do you have a pic of what the install looks like?
Waiting on my truck and I wanted to get this installed right away.

Thanks,

Plenty of threads and pix here on this site - here's one:

This is where Chuck usually installs the plug on the TRX's - you can't even see it unless you get your head down on the floor

I've had mine for over a year and love it. I actually like seeing it.....looks truck tough like the TRX...:)

Like, I should have used the search function? 🤣. Thanks guys! Sorry.

Hey All, just wanted to let you all know that us 'cappers' are out there...and if you wanna be a capper too, please PM me. I have 3d Printed caps for the revelco, you can cover the plug itself to keep it water tight and there is even a replacement cap for the coupling if you so desire.
Many colors available and they ARE 3d printed.

I know some of you don't see the need for the cap but I just got mine from @Solaris and it was exactly what I was looking for. It fits perfectly and totally protects the connectors from dirt, dust or water when carrying around in your pocket etc. I just feel more comfortable having it protected.

I was thinking about it.

Got it installed earlier this week. One question tho. After trying to start it without the ravelco key plugged in, i'll have an engine light on for the next few days and then it'll go away. The installer said that is normal. Does it happen with y'all too?
