Possibly the coolest and easiest dash cam install ever

If you get the rear camera i assume wires would have to be run from the rear camera to the front unit? Or would it be from rear unit to any source of power?

Dang, I already have a Blackvue DR900X-2CH that I'm waiting to install after my tint is fully cured. I love Blackvue dashcams, but the super clean install from FitCamX is making it really tempting to switch. Only advantage that I see using the Blackvue would be:
  • External Battery for parking mode without draining the car's battery
  • Higher SD Capacity at 256 GB
I really like that fact that the FitCamX doesn't require mounting directly to the windshield.

I purchased the rear camera as well but i'll just be 3M'ing it up in the front so it can get the view of driver & passenger. Serves 2 purposes: (1) captures my kids when we do fun stuff; (2) will capture the effect on our bodies should some idiot hit us (great visual for a jury)

Anyone know how to get the "Fuse box cable" (#4 in the diagram above)? It's not listed on their website anywhere that I can find.

Might be this one, but I have no experience with it.

Edit: This looks like the generic version. They do have some make specific versions with different fuse taps.

Awesome. Guess I'm just a dumbass - I can't figure out how you navigated to that.

I just dont understand why these car companies can't figure out how to build an app for the cameras that are already included on their vehicles. Sell a subscription service to record over the built in LTE and bam.
Thought I saw yesterday when I was on BMW's site that you can add that feature as an option. Not sure if it's quite the same as a dashcam though.

Been using this in my truck for months and it’s fantastic! So impressed I bought one for my girlfriends SUV. Looks OEM! Much better than the prior one o had. Thx for sharing!

Yea but you need to run a wire from the front cam to power it all. I was hoping something that would be able to be powered independently but access through the same app. Just want to avoid running wires through the headliner.
Haven't tried on the TRX, but on other vehicles it is normally as simple as just tucking the wire under the 'edge' of the headliner edges, i.e. no need to remove anything. The TRX is quite big, but hopefully the kit would come with enough wire to run that way around the edges. Maybe someone on here can confirm how they did it.

Anybody have an answer to the guys that have asked if you need to have the digital mirror (for power) or will it work with either option??

Received mine today, install is quick and painless - actually took longer installing the app on the phone than it was installing the hardware. Love the clean, OEM look.
Damn you got yours quick! I ordered Amazon Prime but won’t deliver until Feb 22nd. Guess demand spiked from this thread! 😂

I currently have Garmin front and rear. Not a big fan. I’m going to keep the rear but add this one for the front.

Been looking at dashcam options for months. I just ordered the dual camera from the website. Clean /unobtrusive install is more important to me than a perfect device. I will wait for guidance on how to run the wire for the rear camera.
