New screen with update?

Does anyone here went through a full radio unit replacement that actually worked taking the truck back to the original factory settings ?

I've heard a couple people doing it but then after a few days it reverts right back because it goes to the last update

It can be done. But you have to (1) find a radio that hasn't been updated to the newer software, and (2) disconnect the telematics box permanently. You will lose some other connectivity features when you do that.

Thanks. I’m starting the process with the dealership, knowing they most likely won’t be able to solve it. I simply want it in the truck’s Logbook. I would prefer not letting them disassemble the consoles unless there’s a chance for a good result.
It’s still very unprofessional that the dealerships know nothing about it and they haven’t seen any bulletins regarding our issues.
They did know about similar issues with the RHO btw..

And what really sucks is that the 26 bighorn is out now and has 6 different driving modes, auto, sport, tow, etc and they all work just fine with no issues. BUT THEY CAN'T FIX MY TRX....WTF

My screen wouldn’t let the radio sound work.
Just hit the power button on and off. No reset.

Sound came back on…. And I now have two pages of gauges again and the horsepower circle page, shows boost instead of oil pressure.

Hmm. Did ram send out an update for the 2022 u5?
My version number didn’t change.

My drive modes are still all screwy

No every time you reset it like that it'll go kind of back to normal give it a day it'll start showing the turbo instead of the blower on there again

Is there anyway to disable the stupid Sirius XM message that appears when you start the truck? The rest of the screen stays dimly lit and it does't seem to go away unless you click the red x.

@RamCares can we get an update? This is crazy it's taking so long to fix such a big issue. my navigation hasn't been working since April. Has this been escalated internally, if so, how high?
You're wasting your time they are not going to fix it it's been broke since april. And the new trucks coming out have had updates already because they've had issues so obviously they're not going to fix the older trucks

I understand that the ramcares forum account is simply some customer care people who in no way shape or form can correct this... so its not directed at them.

As others have stated, having the software issues we have had for coming up on a year is fairly ridiculous. While I have zero experience in programming, numerous forum members have stated they do, and explained the reasons something like this should have never happened. Further, they have stated how it should be only a several day coding fix if that.

I find it hard to believe this is actually a priority for ram as a whole. We continually are given long lead times for fixes that ultimately do not matter ( 1 month to fix graphics...just kidding 2 months 3,4,5 etc) while at the same times unusable infotainment system issues are not addressed or fixed expeditiously. We are realistically a "get to it when we get to it" priority.

Why there isn't an option to opt out of updates is beyond me, why ram (or any car manufacturer) can post sale delete options or features you paid for is mind blowing.

I am glad that ram is moving in the right direction with its vehicles, if only they would take care of customers in the same manner in which they so sharply course corrected.

I have a feeling the latter will not happen as swiftly due to the sales hype of the new models will far out shadow these gripes on internet forums.

I sent an email a few months ago and received a phone call the next day. April is the next projected update. Attached is the new CEO(Antonio Filosa)contact information.
Good luck getting any TRX back to what you purchased.

Not high enough.
  • zero coordination with dealerships.
  • no REAL update provided. April is just another vague timeline.
  • If a fix really exists or is in development, where is the Service Bulletin?
