New screen with update?

Our latest update from the software engineering side is confirmation that all customers are expected to receive the AOTA update by the end of this month (September 2025). Once again, this is specifically the graphics fix — we are aware that most of you in this thread and elsewhere have experienced other issues as well, and we are continuing to pass those back to the software team.
We look forward to getting this specific fix out and then following up to ensure we can address the other issues you've been experiencing.

Thank you Cares for the update(or another kick on the can). I really could care less about the damn graphics. I would be nice not to have a black screen every day for several minutes without any control of it, Bluetooth stay connected over 30 minutes and maybe stay in the drive mode I select.

Something new I've been trying and "seems"to work pretty well. I turn my radio off when I park and before I hit the engine off button. Then when I startup next time the radio is off, then I wait until I'm a few minutes down the road and hit the radio on button and all seems to work. Seems to help.

Hell of a deal having to find such work arounds, but it is what it is.

I don't mean to beat up the messenger but who cares about the graphics really? I think everybody here just wants the stuff to work how it's supposed to work. The graphic part I'm sure is the least of everybody's worries

While I agree with you about having things work correctly, because they certainly should. I bought a TRX with TRX graphics. And I don't want RHO Graphics in my TRX, in any way shape or form, why? Because this is a TRX not an RHO.

Now maybe you don't give a rip, and that's fine by me, each to their own, but I do, and I'm guessing others on here do as well based on this now 40 page thread.

I paid over 100k for the truck that I bought, a TRX, not RHO. The Uconnect was specific to TRX, not RHO... heck as mentioned earlier, I don't even have the correct performance pages of the rho, because my horsepower is limited to 480!

Bottom line, They screwed it up, they need to fix it. All of it so it works right, but also the graphics need to be the way they were when I bought my truck.

It's weird that there are so many different issues with virtually identical systems. Other than a frozen screen, all I've got going on is RHO graphics and missing gauges. If it wasn't for this forum, I might not have noticed the graphics.

Off topic. I noticed that @TRXMIKE has been AWOL for a couple of weeks. Did this issue push him over the edge like it did @Georgia TRX?

How on earth do you sell a trx right now to anyone but a dealer? If a test drive lasted longer than 3 minutes any potential buyer would think the infotainment system doesn’t work (which is pretty much true). I’d never buy a truck when the screen constantly glitches and button sometimes don’t work.

@RamCares honestly I wouldnt even care about the graphics if I could use my head unit properly. Every single day now it crashes and restarts, usually right after I start the engine. Then when it comes back up to the home/widget screen, everything is dancing around and none of the other functions are accessible until the next time I start the vehicle.

when did you receive 29.44?

I'm still on 27.46. But according to ramcares everyone will be on 35.26 end of month? Why are AOTA updates not pushed to everyone at the same time? I don't understand why each user is on a different version.

This situation has been confusing, so here's a refresher on how the FOTA and AOTA campaigns generally work:

Firmware-over-the-air (FOTA, radio software) is sent over cellular connection to specified vehicles, first in a small launch and then to all vehicles nationally. The FOTA updates will then change the software version, as seen on many screenshots in this thread and others. Once the FOTA is downloaded to your radio, there is no way to pull the update back; however, each truck individually could have different reasons for not receiving the update at all (bad cellular connection, other internal module issues) or for the update taking longer to actually load (vehicle not driven long enough to force it to pop). Because there is always a chance a FOTA may not reach your vehicle, we also provide a manual version to our dealerships so they can perform the update for you.

After FOTA takes place, app-over-the-air (AOTA) updates are automatically triggered to re-sync the radio's apps and make sure they are updated appropriately. There are also separate, non-FOTA AOTAs (what we are currently waiting on to fix the graphics, and another to fix the HP showing incorrectly) that are released to get corrections to the apps outside of the radio software updates.

There are several radio software versions TRX customers may have right now, based on whether they've gotten the most recent updates. The older version would be T27.46. The newest version (which had been paused since April throughout the process of developing the AOTA graphics fix) is called U35.26, and the Technical Service Bulletin for U29.44 and U35.26 (because this was originally designed to be a somewhat quick 2-step FOTA) is shown below and also available to the dealers:

● Unable to select the Turn by Turn Navigation.
● Blank performance pages (Rearview Camera (RVC) functions normally).
● Android Auto® Voice Recognition (VR) inoperative.
● Media Tuner delayed.
● Charge Schedule not accepting updates via phone (RVC functions normally).
● Ambient light inoperative.
● Map in Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) inoperative.
● Media Widget blank.
● Navigation Map black.
● Off-Road Pages inoperative (RVC functions normally).
● VR inoperative.
● Incorrect song title displayed (Carplay® only).
● Radio display switches from Media Page to Home Page (RVC functions normally).
● Ghost touch on Navigation screen (RVC functions normally).
● Widgets missing.
● New User Profile does not load.
● Returns to wrong page after View Camera Event selected by customer in the Camera View Pages (RVC functions normally).

Hopefully this helps a bit in explaining the differences many of you are seeing. One additional thing we can offer is that we are able to check VINs and confirm if we see a FOTA campaign sent to your vehicle. This is always an option for anyone who is interested, and as we've stated before, we ask for them privately out of an abundance of caution.
Lastly, as soon as we hear that the AOTA campaign to fix the graphics is beginning to roll out, we will make sure to post. To reiterate, this is solely pushing a fix for the graphics, we know there are many other items that need to be addressed.

I was wrong. Apparently I went from 27.46 to 35.26 on August 15th and just skipped over 29.44.

Yeeeahhh...it's heavily moderated, I don't know about well. I'm sure mods do the best they can given the rules, but moderation is selective and clearly panders to certain fragile hypersensitivities. [ @TRXMIKE isn't around, so someone else must remain vigilant in his stead, calling out the indefensible injustices and unconscionable actions of the mods, and continue carrying the torch of forum freedoms. Not sure what's worse, the politics or the protests, but as long as everyone is either annoyed or oppressed by something, then all is as it should be on the internet.]

Incidentally, I'm fucking polite and I do make efforts to avoid stepping on toes or playing too loosely with the forum rules, so when my thread that wasn't even political gets deleted with no explanation, well, it hurts my delicate feelings and makes me not want to play anymore. No biggie, obviously, everyone seems content with the current boring ass sausage party.

Okay if this is the way you do things, then why the heck can't we have our original TRX software MANUALLY flashed at a dealership? And don't tell me you don't keep those things on servers someplace, because no business would just delete their old files like that.

Or available for download and we can do it ourselves through USB. It's a pretty simple process.
