New screen with update?

Yeah, when I found that out I was like wtf. Greed exactly
Updates and the b.s. they can cause are one thing. If this means after 5 years things will disappear that where there at purchase that's theft. I'm going to choose to believe I misunderstood until I talk with my dealer. If I go from TRX modes to nada gonna fuck up someone's day for sure.

That is for the Ram connect app. When i bought the TRX I asked about subscriptions. I Was told there was only two. My mobile internet service if I activated it which I did not and the Ram connect app. It had a subscription for upgraded experience but was not necessary so did the trial and let it go. Nothing there says you can have the pages taken nor was it discussed at sale. So my worries should be invalid will double with the dealer. Would seem they must update you for 5 then your on your own. Removing things if they do that again is theft!

The Performance Pages are free forever after deleting the TBM. Just sayin…
Then you lose all your hands free options. Subscription for performance pages is cheap. Not a big deal

Fuck that.

@RamCares is it true the drive mode options expire after 5 years?

No one said this when I bought my truck.

Not sure if you mean something else but you don’t lose hands free. Bluetooth, CarPlay, etc all work fine. As does nav, SiriusXM, and so on. You only lose their subscription based internet connected services like SOS, phone app, etc.

It’s the principle of the matter to me. I might be in the minority but I detest the subscription model everything has become. I like to actually own my things and use what I paid for at the time of purchase for as long as I want. Making people subscribe to features that are already baked into the software and use no connectivity/data will never sit well with me as a consumer. No different than the carmakers who were floating the idea to have heated seats as a subscription. Paying for the hardware wasn’t enough I guess?

I am with you. I absolutely hate subscription based everything they are doing. It is these microtransactions that in themself may seem small but at the end of the month people probably spend so much on subscriptions and microtransactions.

I also just watched Black Mirror Episode 1 of season 7 and it relates to the subscription model.

@RamCares we need to know. Seems alot of us were never told this during the months long purchase. You all better hope that's not what you are trying to pull. If it was there on day one it will be there 100 years later or you fucking stole from us! I'm with others on this we did not get this truck as a subscription you are a vehicle manufacturer not netflix.

Need to delete the whole telematics box. But it’s not a bad job. Not only does it stop them from ruining your Uconnect, but also from selling your data. @AmosMoses did it on his. (More people should do this mod so I can stop tagging you)
It makes me feel special lol.

It was an hour job and there is really only one bolt that took 15 minutes in itself. Everything else was fairly straight forward.

Instructions attached. Also, get this cable as a pass through for the gps.

There is a post on 5thgen forums on what you need to disable with alfaOBD to not get errors, not sure if I can post that here. But @Jimmy07 is the man for that.

But the performance pages are a subscription. So how can they stay if you remove the telematics?
Because the TBM isn’t their pathway to actually supply performance pages to the radio, it’s only their pathway to remove them. Ram can ping your radio and disable features that “don’t belong” to a given VIN. Or in this case, features that aren’t being paid for. That’s what makes it so ridiculous. The act of removing the features is much more involved and costlier than just letting the customer keep it. Forget subscription, more like ransom.

No telematics box, no problem for me. The performance pages are always available, and I was even able to add the off road pages on top of that. Those pages would definitely get “zapped” off of the radio by Ram if they could.

The performance pages are a subscription through ram connect. It's a free trial for 5 years. You didn't have to sign up for it, it's active with the truck. But it will expire.
Seriously?! You've got to be kidding me! If this is true, and I have no reason to doubt it, Scumlantis is burning a bridge that can never be rebuilt.

I know with the hellcat cars the performance pages go away when it expires. But people were calling and canceling their uconnect subscription and rebooted the radio and the pages came back. I guess I'll find out in 2027 LOL

So how does everybody like the RHO chassis now on the mode screen? WTF
