My Story- 2021 Ram TRX

That’s awesome. Have you done all your maintenance? Or did dealer do everything?
Yes oil change and cabin filter every 5000. Looking into changing plugs and fluids change soon. Only mod S&B cold air and EBC slotted rotors with yellow stuff pads. Melted the pads on the way to a job that one of my guys was hurt on. Officer said when I pulled up “ I think your brakes are on fire”. Not sure any brake can handle the fear and 700 hp under your right foot. My guy is healed up and fine thank god😊

So back when I was a kid (like 1990 ish) there was the “Santa Fly Over.” As many things, it died and went away. During Covid Christmas they brought it back. My wife has been a good sport, and after an early dinner we go up on a hill to catch the flyover each year. This year was no different. It’s kind of cheesy, but it’s something fun from my childhood.

While waiting for the flyover my wife said “Light this bitch up!” When she came back she said “It’s like the Star of Bethlehem!”

Yep. Got mine specifically for making it easier to make it through snowstorms.

Of course, much like with getting a snowblower, it really hasn't snowed any since.

Another Spring Break Trip to San Juan Island. The TRX gobbled up the miles (and gas). Not so fun fact, premium fuel on the island is $5.11 a gallon.

Waiting to get off the ferry at Friday Harbor

Today marks the 3rd year with the TRX. I always keep track of mileage year to year:
Year #1: 11,278
Year #2: 11,222
Year #3: 11,189
Total Mileage: 33,689

At this point I don’t think I can say much about the TRX that most don’t already know. I still don’t love not having more hard buttons for the HVAC system, I’d like hard buttons for the heated/cooled seats and heated steering wheel, and the driveline clunk is back for a third time. On the positive, the truck is still comfortable and fun everyday. I still don’t know what’s out there that I’d replace the truck with.

I am too on year 3 as on June on my 2021 and currently have a little over 45,000 miles. I can say of all the vehicles I have owned over the years, this is still my favorite. It has been solid, fun, comfortable, and still just as much a blast to drive as it ever was.

04Ram2500Hemi, I thought your mpg looked good...until I checked the average speed.

At under 25 mph mine would probably get into the 20s. As it is, I've seen better numbers on the Lie-O-Meter after doing 70-90 mph.

(Sorry, couldn't resist yanking your chain. I know you get it out of 3rd gear every now and then).

Goodbye Summer 2024 :(

Dang, you're closing up on 10 times my mileage, and we bought only days apart.

And speaking of mileage (mpg), now you know one reason I don't tow with mine. Hell, that;s about what I get pulling 25,000 lbs. withe the 3500.

You tow lots of heavy stuff regularly. I tow the pontoon boat twice a season (getting the boat out of storage to start the summer, then taking it to be winterized at the end of the season). I tow less than 40 miles each year, and the TRX does just fine. If I was in your shoes I’d have a different setup.

Such as what?

I got mine primarily to have something capable in case we got buried in a snow storm. Well, we haven;t had much snow since I bought it, much like since getting a capable snowblower.
