My Story- 2021 Ram TRX

A little exterior illumination update with the addition of some chase lights I got through @Shifts_And_Grins and Diode Dynamics in Amber/Yellow. I like how stealthy this kit is. You damn near don’t see it.

There’s been a lot of talk and debate on the Bullet Proof 3rd Brake Light / Antenna Mount, but that’s an expensive setup, and it worried me to mess with a brake light that currently doesn’t leak. I like that I can use a vendor on the forum and give these a try.

-Aux Switch #1 is the 30” Amber Diode Dynamics Light Bar using @Shifts_And_Grins bracket
-Aux Switch #2 is the Oracle Light Bar and the Rigid 360 Lights using @Boosted ’s Brawler Fab Behind the Grill Kit
-Aux Switch #3 is Rigid 360 Lights using Brawler Fab’s A-Pillar Kit
-Aux Switch #4 is currently blank/unused
-Aux Switch #5 is the @Shifts_And_Grins Chase Lights Set Up
-Aux Switch #6 is Brawler Fab’s Reverse Light Kit

LATE POST, BUT:
  • That is a great price for the Level 2 TRX, assuming you purchased it for MSRP Sticker
  • I note it's a couple years 'younger' than my 2023
  • In California, the TRX's ( a couple years ago) had up to a $20K++ premium with the Dealers
  • I paid $90K. Bought it out of State. I've had great luck/driving mine. No complaints!
  • WAIT! My Only Complaint: After about 10K miles, the OEM Tires are noticeably 'Loud' or noisy & I don't want to change them 'yet'! But may.
  • This is the 2nd Ram Truck for me ........... I've loved the TRX.

My truck’s sticker price was just north of $85,000. I ended up paying $79,000 with a 7yr/75,000 Mile bumper to bumper extended warranty.

The factory tires only get louder. Mine were replaced at 36,000 miles with General Grabber A/Tx in the factory size and I’ve really liked them.

Four years, five months, and eleven days after taking delivery of the TRX I rolled over 50,000 miles today. I’d love to give a detailed and impressive review, but I’m not sure there’s a lot I could say that members don’t already know. I’ll put it this way, it’s the best dumb vehicle I’ve ever owned. It’s quick, comfortable, great on long road trips, safe on bad roads, tows the family pontoon boat, takes me to the woods, and gets terrible fuel economy. I look forward to putting more miles on the truck!

Way to go. Your one of the folks I used as research before putting my order for my 2023. As we all know the most "powerful" color too. In all seriousness, for me the lighter colored vehicles are just able to stay or get cooler quicker in Texas gulf coast heat.

This is why I'm glad I went with the white one instead of the black that the dealership had. That and the $12k price difference for the same truck with slightly less miles and a now faulty Uconnect system🤣. So glad I bought the 21

I’m always glad when I can help others spend their hard earned money.

Let the TRX stretch its legs over Spring Break and headed to San Juan Island, WA. The fine people of Washington are getting screwed on gas prices. No wonder there are so many EV’s out there! Gas in Ritzville was $5.699 a gallon, in Anacortes it was $5.549, and on San Juan Island the good stuff was $6.65! I wasn’t happy about the $4.349 I paid when I got home, but it was better than Washington. In total the TRX racked up almost 1,475 miles and drank up 106.841 gallons of gas, costing us $573.26 in smiles per gallons. Hand calculated we averaged 13.805mpg over the trip, while the truck was a little more optimistic and read over 14mpg.
