Mopar Extended Warranty

@OkieTRX80 , here I am again with another question - sorry if this has all been covered...

When does the extended warranty start? Say someone goes ahead and buys an 8 year, 100k. Is it in effect at the beginning like the factory warranty is? If so, what exactly are we getting with the factory warranty that is going to benefit us in addition to the extended one? Just want to be sure I know what I'm getting if I have two warranties running same time.

Sorry for my ignorance on this subject - never bought extended before...

No problemo at all buddy!!

The new car max care warranty DOES start with the original in-service date and mileage of the vehicle, where as the preowned maxcare warranty starts with date and miles of purchase. Short of your 3 key fob replacement, and a little extra trip interruption benefits, the new care maxcare will NOT show coverage (Meaning you won't use it) until your 3yr/36k basic warranty is expired.

With that said, there is HUGE benefits to buying the New car MAX care.

Time: new car allows up to 8 years and preowned only allows up to 5 years, hence making the max coverage the same

Price: new car coverage for 8yr/100k/$100 is $2045 vs preowned 5yr/100k/$100 is $3965

Money-back: In the event that you sell or trade in your truck, MVP offers a pro-rated money-back guarantee on your new car maxcare.

IMO: buying under 12k is the BEST decision for most people. Look at it as life or medical insurance. Is it cheaper to buy those plans in your teens or in your 50-60s? It's really the same concept, big picture.

Hope this helps

Thanks for your help. Question So if I trade my TRX in after 2 years do I get most of my money back?

If you think or are considering trading in two years from now, just use your factory warranty. Don’t waste the money. I may get one, only because I’m not planning on getting rid of it.

Youre welcome!! You'd get a prorated amount back, less $50 for cancelation fee or If selling to an individual, price it in and they allow a 1 time transfer with a $50 fee.

Question, if you are trading in two years from now, why buy an 8 year extended warranty. If you just use your factory warranty, you will keep 100% of your money now.

Just saying.... I bought an unlimited miles/time, 99years/999,999 miles maxcare on my 19 Laramie. I didn't plan to sell it, but then bought the TRX 2 years later and Canceled my contract at 23k miles.

Had I not sold the truck, I'd have had the extra piece of mind at a CHEAP cost.

I will agree, if you plan to sell in 2 years, I wouldn't buy a X warranty.

Plans change

Just wanted to give OkieTRX80 a shout out for his help with extended warranty. What a big help and easy process. Appreciate what you are doing for Forum members.

Thanks Doc, It was awesome to hear from ya!! glad i could help

I prefer the more gratifying "stay at home" warranty.

Trusty tools in the driveway....

I haven’t placed my order for warranty yet but dealer wouldn’t match @OkieTRX80 pricing so I’ll be reaching out to him to get one. I think we all owe @OkieTRX80 a HUGE thank you for hooking up so many members and we should ban together to send him some beer. A keg work??

Lol, thanks guys.. just helping out where I can. Oh, and living the dreams through all those badass stories I'm hearing about, your trucks.

A HUGE THANKS TO @OkieTRX80 for setting me up with MaxCare for much less than what my dealer wanted! I feel very comfortable about my purchase, and the process was so easy over the phone! Great conversation and NO hassle. THANKS @OkieTRX80! ;)

You're the best!! Yes indeed, super convo today!!
