Modding And Meandering ...

Ok so a little update ...

When I went to the tire shop earlier today everything was a little rushed. The other thing is for whatever liability reasons they didn't want to install the spacers, which I actually get. So I seduced the head tech with moneys to come by my house after hours to put them on. Also to double check that the Weld still wouldn't clear with the hub centric rings (which they don't) and to check that the Fuel cleared the rear calipers (which they do). So all clear to get the Fuel Shok setup going.

But then something happened on the way to this forum ...

The 1.5" spacers look soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good!

By the time we were done (and by we I mean he worked and we beered) it was too dark to take proper pics, so I'll do that tomorrow. Get your tissues ready, there will me moist.

This is all to say that I'm going to see if I can find a wheel with an even more aggressive offset than 0 if I can.

In the meantime, here's a pic of what the Bora spacers look like before wheel (rear spacer not in yet):

Btw, what is this blue plastic shit in one of my calipers? None of the other ones have it. Is it something that the dealer should have taken off during PDI? I'm afraid to just rip it out.

Can’t wait to see the reveal. Just think of the little bit of blue adding character and color contrast to your Blacked out Beast. Haha

There sure seems to be a plethora of lazy eyes in regards to this truck.

That is a very nice and aggressive stance!

Here I go updating my screen saver again...
This looks really good. Can you tell a big difference in handling?

None at all on the street, if anything it will help cornering/handling ... you do have to give curbs and toes a smidgen more of a wide berth. :)

Thanks guys.

The spacer exercise has proven very useful. If/when I pull the trigger on the fuel wheels I will now probably do it in the available -12 offset instead of the original 0. That would result in essentially the same stance but 5mm more tucked than with the spacers, which is negligible.

So here's something interesting that I didn't expect ...

I found a mound of dirt to put a wheel on to check articulation with 1.5" spacers, I couldn't get the front to tuck in cause the sand was too soft and kept collapsing, but I got the rear to articulate past the fender, and much to my surprise it cleared, and not just by a little.

I'll try to find anther spot to do the front but my guess is that the same will be true.

So no worries on having aggressive offsets on these trucks and clearing under compression.

so we think the Weld Ledge 20x9 will clear fine?

so we think the Weld Ledge 20x9 will clear fine?

We do. The 18 doesn't clear by only a few mm.

The other thing to note about the Ledge is that they have very narrow bolt openings, so you have to get really thin lug nuts to secure the wheel.

i Have a set of ledge on a wrangler i built. Good looking wheel. I am still hoping to find out if 0mm on 37x1250 will fit or not. Supposed to have a buddy mocking some up. I want to run venom rex but they are only in 0mm offset for what I want and 37s are non negotiable.

So my guess just looking at the stock wheel tire with the 1.5" spacers and the huge amount they clear by, is that 37s on 0 offset wheel would be fine, at least from an articulation relative to the top of the fender pov (ie. tucking). I can't comment on whether it would rub the front and rear of the fenders turning the wheels side to side.

Out of curiosity, I know one can mount 37s on a 9" wide wheel, but is it wise to? Or is that a non issue?
