Still pops in Baja.
Still pops in Baja.
I have had a clunk in my front end ever since new when going through a deep pot hole or dropping off a curb and am curious if anyone here haas the same issue and if anyone has found a fix. I saw a video in one of the facebook groups and a number of people commented that they have the same issue. To me it sounds as though a strut mount is loose but I have not had a chance to get it to the dealer to check it out.
Below is thee video from book face.

Nut was probably loose for awhile, egged out the hole and ripped out the tabs.@Trx415 are the alignment restrictive tabs ripped off?
Were you offroad when that happened or hitting curbs?
Either way, find a good offroad fab shop and have them weld plates there like they do for raptors and gm’s.

I have not taken the truck off road. I was just driving the truck as my daily. My intention was to take the truck on winter hunts for white tail and ducks. Now I’m scared to take it on any trip!@Trx415 are the alignment restrictive tabs ripped off?

Thanks for posting @CatchMeOffroad , I was about to look up your video and do the same. Your fix worked for me! No more pops/clunks when hitting potholes.Hey guys, I suspect a lot of the noises many of you are hearing are related to the body mounts - here is a video showing the noise, its cause, and the fix:
TLDR; All 2021 and most 2022 TRX's used the same body mounts as the standard 5th gen Ram 1500, but were later upgraded to mounts with thicker and stiffer rubber (to reduce/remove air gap between body and frame) starting around Oct 2022. If you hear a metal-on-metal knocking sound while offroading or hitting potholes, this is very likely the culprit. Part numbers for new mounts in video, and some useful ordering info in the comments. Hope this helps...

We regret to see that you're having these concerns with your truck. If you're thinking of having this looked at by your dealer, let us know. We're available via direct message and can help with this process.Ok I am glad i found this thread and i want to add my experience and my questions.
During my dune runs at Amargosa last weekend i noticed 3 occasions while driving that i heard/felt a loud thud bouncing around the dunes. Heard 1 time coming from the front left (Drivers) and 2 times on the front right (Passengers). I swear it seemed like the front suspension might have hit a bump stop of some sort. I dont hear it at all anymore daily driving.
Could my scenario be related to the bilstein front shocks hitting its internal bumpstop? I dont think my experience is related to the fix catchmeoffroad posted. His video sounded like a lot of rattling to which i do not have
Have had this looked at by the dealer and have also told my Ram case manager about it as well. Specifically telling them about the body mounts and this thread(sent a link) and have not been able to get anywhere with either of them, just the reply "Ram technicians are still diagnosing the issue." Honestly if they already revised the body mounts it seems they already figured out the issue. Kinda sucks having to go down wash board roads where sounds like your front end is about to fall off.We regret to see that you're having these concerns with your truck. Have had good and bad experiences, but mostly relates back to the dealership. I will say though Earnhardt's in Gilbert is a new kind of special. Think I went in 3-4 separate times to get my leaking shock replaced. They kept my truck 3.5 days to replace the hood badges last week!I feel like most dealerships don’t care. If it’s not spelled out as a full recall they don’t want to look into anything.
And the mechanics, if they can’t beat the warranty book time by 50% then they don’t want to acknowledge the problem with the vehicle.
It’s not just ram. Gm is just as bad.
There are some good dealerships. But they are rare.
I wish the manufacturers would step in to their dealer network and improve after sale interactions.
