Front end suspension clunk

Here is a bump stop cut away comparison. Look
At how much more is involved in the bilstein bump vs the others.

This is a pic of their old basic blackhawks. They were the first with recirc coolers (well on a commercial shock). It wasn’t fox.
Now granted the old school baja guys were doing them with monroes back in the 80’s but those were all home built.

I notice mine every time i go over a fat/wide speed bump. about the time the front is dipping and the rear is hitting the bump I hear a clunk. I have heard it in dips off and one but the speed bumps makes it happen if you go over them with a little speed.

Put it in Sport mode to stiffen the suspension and the knock is less pronounced. For me, that proves its a shock issue and it may just be how they function. It makes the truck sound cheap, that's what I don't care for. But whatever, as long as it's not defective.

Make sure the front metal pan all 6 bolts are tight. And use hand tools. This is common in being loose especially after oil changes by lube techs.

Same here with the wide bois in my neighborhood. The short ones don’t seem to replicate it. I checked all the bolts and everything is tight including the stability bar and links.

Bilstein has a huge presence off road. One of the reasons they aren’t like king prerunner or fox non factory series is because bilstein black hawks are billet bodies with billet bypass tubes.

And they stack their shocks full of details.
For instance an oem fitment Tacoma fox or king won’t have an internal bypass or internal “hudraulic bump”

The bilsteins do.

The king and fox in order to get a comp adjuster or as bilstein calls it, an anti cavitation valve, it’s a 350 per shock upgarde. Bilstein comes standard.

You are forced into a much better stock at an entry level with bilstein and you pay for it.

And I’m not a bilstein fan boy. I’m an ads racing guy.
Bingo. And the Bilstein shafts are larger on these shocks than the 3.0 Fox and probably Kings.

Since this is so common I’m going to assume it’s normal and go about my day.

It's the shocks, mines been making this sound from day one and I spent 2 hrs on the rack double checking every bolt in the front of the truck.

Mine happens in very warm and cold weather.

Someone needs to put a gopro down there and film this
First thing I did when I heard it this morning was go look for my GoPro. Unfortunately in storage for a few more weeks.

Ads fan here too. I almost didn’t buy the TRX because of bilstein and an incident I had with them on another vehicle that left me and my kids stranded in the middle of the desert due to a faulty product. I immediately removed their product from both that truck and my 911 out of pure spite.

This is my clunk! Front passenger side control arm! Now the dealership is telling me to fix on my own. They even had the nerve to tell me to make a claim on my own insurance! I also purchased the additional warranty coverage. I’m so disappointed with Ram, Stellantis FCA.
After seeing 2 different dealerships. They gave me a phone number to complain. WOW!
This is a Baja race truck that can’t handle the street’s and freeways and pot hole! I would never recommend this truck when Ram has no care for the product and warranty!
