Cornerstone performance air intake

What’s the reason for not wanting AFE/s&B?
This. AFE is nice and my second choice, but still a lot of plastic and hides the supercharger

I got cps to trade for jmb intake lol I love mine I just want the double fitler set up

I believe @RS1 has a super clean intake on his that sits opposite side of cps. Really opens up the engine bay
I see it in his gallery. This is where the stubbornness comes in lol, I want to still use the cooler air coming in from the hood inlet

CPS sounds like poop honestly….
It rattles like hell over time and just sounds cheap and metallic.
S&B is the best bet for hood scoops and STM is the best bet for air flow. I made 1010whp with the STM intake.

The S&B is a pain in the ass if you’re running 2 pulleys, 1 for 93 and 1 for E85 as you have to take the whole intake off to swap pulleys.

I have to disagree about the cornerstone sounding like poop and rattling. I’ve had mine for two years and no rattles or metallic sound. I actually think the fit and finish is impressive. Not sure who installed the one you’re referring to, but in your words, they’re poop.

I installed it. But I also do over 100 in the dirt and jump my truck so that could’ve been part of the rattle haha. Intake just sounded hollow to me.

Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone runs the Cornerstone performance cold air intake in their TRX. I am trying to get one, but they are out of stock and still wondering if it is the best option. Picture for reference
I love mine and bought it from B

Yeah, that’s the difference than. Mine does no jumping and stays pretty much on pavement and sees a dirt road every once in awhile heading to a hunting or fishing spot. I can see a rattle coming about if doing 100 in dirt and jumping for sure.

I have the cornerstone and love it. Loud whine, uses the hood scoops and opens up the engine bay to see that big beautiful motor. No issues so far and had on for 2 years. Can’t speak to availability of getting one, but highly recommend.
A skinny tube going to the filter housing, and a big tube coming out...
What am I missing?

Sounds like you got it. Skinny tube pulls air in from the hood scoop to run to the filter and big tube sucks it into the engine, pretty simple.

I liked my JMB but the issue was a catch can with it. SRT Autowrks makes one that fits but it's a pain to get to and it seems all the others need modified heavily. Also JMB fitment wasn't "bad" but having to rotate one of the filters so it didn't touch the hood was kind of annoying. I have AFE right now but have been looking at BWoody and CPS to replace it.

More whine , drive a 100k truck 2 things
1) stop asking about gas mileage
2) a CAi doesn't do much , but it looks cool , and that whine is awesome , at least I went with the Cornerstone instead of any other brand that the filter is exposed fully to the heated engine bay, and it's my truck.

CPS does make some lofty claims about the intake on there site. Curious if they have any evidence to back it up. The afe site claims certain percent flow increase and a byproduct of HP gains. The cps seems to be extremely pointed “2 psi over competitors “ …. That’s a fairly high bar to say you make that much more over any other intake.

Makes me think of the old supplement companies when they would have arbitrary percents of gains on the outside of creatine bottles 342% increase in bench press!!!

Fully understand that an intake is a super small part of the equation when it comes to making more power, but since we are arguing pennies why not 😂🤣
  • “15whp & 13ft.pound GAIN over the stock intake with no limiters turned off!
  • Picked up 2PSI of boost over the competitors intake on a modified TRX.
  • 2-5* Intake air temps over ambient
  • 1 MPG increase at 75mph over the stock intake
  • 30* + IAT drop over the stock intake”

I am running a speedlogix catch can with the JMB and it fits fine. I liked the BWoody intake and it was definitely louder than the JMB, but i always change it up.

I like the STM intake if I change again probably go that route.

I was gonna say STM looks the cleanest to me but man that install scares me big time.

I was actually looking at the install PDF the other night had me second guessing my choice 🤣
Yeah I’m fine with most of but not unbolting the brake booster and stuff. I’d trust a shop if I had one around me.

To those talking about the STM intake. It was not bad at all! Unbolting the brake booster was simple and I had no issues.
Time consuming but not difficult.

This intake actually has colder IAT’s.
I’ve ran stock, CPS, S&B, and this STM.
The S&B and STM are by far the best for IAT’s.

The CPS didn’t impress me with IAT’s. The hood scoop air just blows on the air filter when you’re driving and doesn’t doo much. It still pulls hot air off the header.

The STM pulls air from the grill primarily and does NOT heat soak like the other intakes.

This pic was before Barth did his magic so no chiller at this time.
