Cornerstone performance air intake

Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone runs the Cornerstone performance cold air intake in their TRX. I am trying to get one, but they are out of stock and still wondering if it is the best option. Picture for reference

Definitely do not use the Bwoody off-road. We had a catastrophic failure of of one and the guy was lucky that he didn’t lose his engine.

Have the AFE and love it, decent whine increase and quality construction.

Cornerstone is an interesting design, but if I had to do it again, it would still be AFE or S&B.

I like Bwoody for sure.. but it doesn’t retain the factory air scoops. I thought that was neat thing to have still with a aftermarket intake. I don’t like all the plastic associated with the S&B, AFE etc. Do you run dry filters or oiled on the Bwoody?

I have the cornerstone and love it. Loud whine, uses the hood scoops and opens up the engine bay to see that big beautiful motor. No issues so far and had on for 2 years. Can’t speak to availability of getting one, but highly recommend.

You stated all the things i like about it. I don’t understand the issue with the availability unless they stopped producing them once the TRX stopped production? Really bummed with that right now. Is the whine constant even when cruising on highway?

The whine isn’t constant when cruising on the highway. However if you hit the go peddle to pass someone, you will hear the whine slightly…hammer on it, it screams.

If you tow you will hear mild noise on partial throttle. If I am towing over 3 hrs I have to take it off because it does get to be too much. If you don't tow then it doesn't matter. Whine has to be at least 4 times louder than stock.

I have dry filter. I absolutely love it. No zero issues. Ya maybe you’re getting some hot air in. IMO it cleans up the engine bay a lot and if hot air makes me lose some hp, It’s nothing I’m going to notice. I don’t race my truck. 700+ hp I got hp to spare. It’s just a fun truck to play with and I wanted the loudest whine possible for the most fun. If you think the whine would ever be annoying. Bwoody is not for you.

I wasn’t confident these third party sellers had it in stock if the actual company doesn’t have them in stock either. I guess i am wrong tho.

No! Don’t buy from a third party. They aren’t in stock!!! I have been following and waiting for CPS to be back in stock since December! I have been calling them once a month since then and they’ve been having fabricator issues. They thought they found a new company to fabricate last month but they went out of business and back to the drawing board.

If you bought from 3rd party, ask for you money back because you won’t be getting it any time soon! Basically a $700 loan to the third party

I am in the same boat as you! I want a louder whine with an intake that cleans up the engine bay, but also still using the hood air inlets. There is nothing else out there like the CPS. S&B and AFE too much plastic like the stock for me.

I have been very patient with CPS but I’m losing hope they’ll ever get them fabricated again. The guy I talk to says they still plan on making them cause they do have a lot of inquires/interest in them.

Exactly. I called a few and they all said they are out of stock and then tried to push the AFE’s and S&B. We both have the same problem with those, lol (plastics). I did email CPS and they said “2 months”. I guess stock air intake will be on until then

I almost want to see if I could get a used one off Facebook marketplace, but that is prob Worse than buying from a third party.

I already posted a WTB or ISO on FB . Here too. No luck so far.

This is the number I call for updates like once a month. Hard to reach someone sometimes. 248-383-8107.

I too think I will wait and see still. I don’t need to buy something that I’m not in love with.

I wouldn’t hold your breath for their 2 month quote. Have been calling since December. So if you do have a second choice you like enough, and want it now, probably for the best.

I’m in no rush. I’ll def post on this thread or somewhere in forum if they ever are back in stock again.

1 day my engine bay will look similar to yours . If CPS ever say they give up, I’ll just slap a big ole bwoody or something. Just want to see that SC more

Are you on back order or waiting for the website to change from coming soon to in stock? A few sellers said it would be best to pre order because cornerstone will ship to back order (if they are make them) before they do regular orders. It sort of sounds like a sale pitch to me.
