Compustar Pro T13

I was recommended twice to go Verizon because it typically works better than ATT. I told the original installer on the first vehicle that i wanted ATT At this point im assuming they both have ATT but who knows, its been such a frig.
@Air’d outSRT is Compustar/ Drone able to tell you which card is in there? “Someone” told me they can?
They all come AT&T, they might be able to tell you over the phone but sure fire way is to pop the sim card out. 99.5% of the time it will be AT&T, not many need to swap sims

🤯🤯🤯like i said, its been a frig. But… you know that! Ill call them and ask just fo see if they do. TY Air’d

Locate the compustar main module, the cmx and pull the biggest connector off (if it is using a T harness) or the bigger connectors off and then leave off for 30 seconds and plug them back in. Its just a false error that happens rarely. If you can’t find it then unhook the main battery for a few seconds and hook it back up. Shouldn’t get a loss of suspension calibrationthanjs

Thanks did just that...

I fixed it by unplugging the data link behind the dash and plugging it back in, as I unplugged it the compustar siren went off once briefly... out of curiosity while it was unplugged I tested if the car would turn on and if the GPS/drone works and car turned on but GPS in drone doesn't says system offline and then you disable the siren simply by unplugging it... so is it really this easy to defeat the GPS functionality and the siren for that matter of this system by just unplugging it as that seems too easy... or I guess alarms are more meant to protect the intrusion into the car as I was doing this all with the alarm disarmed and the door open etc.

with it unplugged and car turned on IGLA still works as expected.

but this compustar thing was a bit of a disappointment.

also during my compustar adventure behind the dash noticed this what I am assuming is surface rust? on parts behind the dash??? on a 4 month old car?? inside??.. should I be warranting this?

Not uncommon in new cars, especially humid environments. Might have been closed up after some humid weather. Its the same thing like on driveshaft flange rust on new trucks. I wouldnt bother about it, take a shop rag, and put some silicone lubricant, WD-40 also works, and coat the rusted areas by gently rubbing on it with the coated rag. This will prevent more rust.

We've talked about the compustar. Its a great system, but is defeatable. However, to defeat it, you need to be inside, and to be inside, sets off the alarm and notifies the owner. Thats the job of the alarm, not to prevent theft in progress (actually in car already), but to deter theft from starting. You'll want IGLA/Ravelco to actually prevent the theft.

ya the funny thing was I screwed everything back togethor plastic dash. got into car to drive... dash power would turn on but car wouldn't start so I started panicking... turns out I believe it was stuck in some sort of anti theft mode via igla as I had to put in the code before even turning the car on, and now it finally works as normal again - scary moment as I live far from compustar installer and dealer would have no idea what to do, essentially a 110k brick lol -

compustar guy thought in my tinkering a cable was lose or I unplugged something inadvertly so I checked all that then they told me to put PIN in and that seemed to have worked but there was 1 start before where even that had no effect but anyways anxiety episode Is over for today.

I know you solved your issue, but just wanted to chime in. I had the same problem starting mid-December with the three chirps, and also it seemed that my proximity sensor was not working consistently (probably because the system thought something was open). I contacted Compustar this week and they gave me instructions for resetting various parts and re-pairing the T13. However my installer suggested that I start by just disconnecting and reconnecting the car battery. I did this, and the problem seems to have been resolved (even with a battery backup on the drone).

Much easier than digging around behind the dash and messing with the Compustar components…

If you swap that drone x1 out for a drone x1 max you will have about 4 hours of tracking and will get a separate alert for battery disconnected. This is why I modify the compustar and hide the main unit so it cannot be found unless you start taking the dash apart 😉

I have a question for the members with the various drone mobile plans. I can see the differences between them but in reality once you have them how is the experience? Which plan do you have and do you think you could do with a higher or lower plan? I am trying to decide which plan I should do. For example, beyond the Basic plan are the other plans best more for if the truck is actually stolen or do you find yourself using any of the features regularly?

The GPS tracking seems to really be the section that sets the different plans apart. For me I think most of this GPS section would only help me if my truck was actually stolen. But this is why I was hoping for members that have experience with the GPS what are your thoughts.

Also, I did not notice but lets say I do basic and decide to upgrade can this be done by calling in and paying? Or does something have to be changed physically? Same with if I go premium plus than feel premium is good, can I easily downgrade? EDIT - I see it says at the end of plan to renew to login and pick a plan. So I guess we can change and I guess no hardware needs to be changed

Thanks

Premium is the lowest one you can get and track it, the ones higher just add faster refresh rate and geofencing.

Ok I understand that.

As for GPS tracking, essentially this is only useful if the truck is actually stolen? Yes, if I forget where I parked I could check but is GPS good to have on the normal if the truck is always where you park it? Also having IGLA more than likely my truck should always be where I left it (maybe defaced or violated) unless it is towed away. And this is where the GPS would be useful?

I appreciate all the information and experience

For me the GPS tracking lets me see where the truck is parked or if it is moving....even though 99% of the time it is in my Garage or the Office Garage. I mean you can do the same with airTag or Samsung, Tile, or other tags too. Except tags depend on the nearby phone. I would remove the speaker from the AirTag.

Thanks. If I was going to do the GPS tracking I would use the drone from Compustar. I guess I am just wondering if anyone actually Uses the GPS portion of it on a regular basis. I think if the Alarm goes off or the truck moves the basic would alert me.

I feel personally that I would never check where my truck is unless it was actually stolen. If I am not alerted that the alarm went off or something why would I need to check.

To use it on a full compustar setup premium is the minimum you can have. Its cheap so why try and save $2 a month? $287 for 3 years

Also, I think if you want to remote start it say from the Runnway, you either need to pay for the RAM APP or Pay for the Drone service. I think they run specials around Father's Day and Black Friday for multiple years of service.

I have used it for retracing my steps, confirming how long i was at a location. I used it when my truck was being worked on, before i fully took possession (during the initial mod assault BS). I was hours away from where the truck was.
Might as well go all in or go home. Three years, set it and forget it.

I am understanding things more clearly. I do appreciate everyones experiences. And it is not about trying to save a few dollars. It is more of buying redundant or not needed for me. Plus any money I save is more mods or gas hahaha

For example I was debating between T12 and T13 because of the proximity. I know I will have it disabled. I dont want proximity. I have it disabled currently for the regular fob. I just feel that maybe 1 day it will sense me close and be unlocked. I feel more safe having to hit unlock. I know many love the convenience and its great. My peace of mind I will gladly take the extra steps to carry 2 fobs, press unlock, do the PIN. For me the extra steps are fine.

I am also understanding that without Drone I would not get phone alerts and I do want phone alerts.

I have T13 but don’t use it for proximity unlock, I use it for passive locking with rfid. That way I know its locked when I walk away
