Compustar Pro T13

Im just going to say this again! The people who installed my second compustar system never even enabled it in the settings. It was off so therefore worthless other than for tracking. The Drone part was on but the alarm part was OFF. NICE ! 😡
So, make sure that is done by setting off the alarm.

I need to ask, and this is probably shows how naive/clueless I probably am. So I have IGLA/Compustar/Drone i my vehicle, but what I'm assuming is the Drone GPS antenna on my window, is unplugged then what good is Drone for tracking if it gets stolen or my kids decide to go have "fun" in it?
I think that is antenna for proximity on the T13

That is probably the antenna for your remotes. Post a pic
yup you are corret sir. I took the time to take a pic then noticed a model number ANT-2WSF. a quick google search confirmed it. now I only wish that thing was a little smaller...lol

I do too actually but unfortunately the proximity function is in the antenna itself and not the main compustar unit so it has to be bigger to accommodate it. You can however take some fishing line, remove it from the windshield and then slide it into the headliner.

Drone mobile support is utterly useless. They just comment you back to your installer. That said, the GPS takes a few hours to initialize with the LTE system after install, I’ve installed 4 of these and the first few locations are always wrong, frozen etc. It self resolves once it gets its act together.

That said if you are using the premium trial, perhaps the functionality is less than you are looking for. for their more expensive plan, plus or ultimate has bread-crumbing where it shows your route at 2min or 30sec intervals respectively. Thought I’d mention that incase it was overlooked.

If the fob says fail, 10/10 that whatever you’re trying to do isn’t enabled or module not installed. Shock sensor for instance, or otherwise optional module not installed. Aux mode on the fob will be set (if installed this way) to manipulate whatever is installed on those inputs, if nothing, nothing will happen. Again optional modules or tie ins to other systems/aftermarket accessories.

@marksouth i carry both my T13 remote and the ram remote. Use the T13 remote for everything, I think in theory you can just carry the t13 remote, as the compustar system clones the fob to use with its remote start system, never tried it personally, don’t mind having both.
I would carry both, here is why. Today for example, the t13 is IPX7 waterproof (1meter for 30 min supposedly) BUT ... today somehow in my hands my T13 took a Very quick dip into my mug full of cold coffee, it was maybe 1 second, i didn't think anything of it because it was 1 second and i remembered it is IPX7 waterproof, so i wiped it off and went on with my day.... 1 hour later i get a panic notification, went outside to see whats up nothing, press disarm didnt work, used my dronemobile app on my phone to disarm, then over the next 2-3 hours. (keep in mind would need your RAM remote to open the doors if your T13 is malfunctioning like mine did, granted could also use your phone however i don't think in my situation you would have been able to turn the car on). So anyways then it proceeded to arm itself, open the trunk, screen started turning on and off , multiple times.... (sounds like some sort of water short circuit going on inside the t13) .... then i got in the car, turned it on, and the remote continued to arm the alarm while i was driving with me disarming it using my phone immediately to keep the horns/siren from blaring .... then i decided to hold power on the t13 while driving, and i kept holding it, then the screen got all pixelated resembling a broken LCD screen. Then it finally stopped and now is chirping a little, and screen flashes "US test mode" when i plug it in to charge it flashes here and there flashes "US test mode", chirps briefly like its broken. Installer told me to use the backup R5 which works fine, currently on phone with compustar will update this thread with resolution but this thing is like 4 months old. For something that was $2000+ to install this is not what I would call an elegant solution on such an expensive car, or a head ache I signed up for.

so an update they confirmed its probably water damaged i asked them what about the IPX7 waterproof they had no comment and just said water damage not warranty able go buy a new remote .... so CONCLUSION - this thing is not IPX7 waterproof as it did not survive 1 second in less than an inch of cold coffee - and manufacturer will not stand behind it.

You can unplug the antenna if you can’t turn the remote off or can’t open it to unhook the little battery.

another agent is willing to do a replacement for me warranty through the canadian distributor - but yes when i last had to deal with it saying my doors were open when they werent - that involved locating the module under the dash and unplugging it from power and plugging it back in and i thought this is too easy - so you're saying if you unhook the mirror receiver that achieves the same result? i get an alarm is suppose to "deter ENTRY" and we are doing this work/troubleshooting after already gaining entry but my god that a manufacturer other than tesla has not integrated all this stuff better blows my mind...

You probably have a dc3 main unit. They are notorious for having door open errors. Thats why most of us will not use them

I had Igla/compustar/drone installed. I am still under the 30 day free trial of drone premium. When looking under trips in the gps function where it shows daily trips from point A to point B, it says unable to resolve address for points A and B. Looking at just doing the basic plan which only does vehicle control and security because of this. Seems pretty useless to do the gps if it can't even follow my daily trips. @Air’d outSRT , can you advise?

If you want the gps and vehicle control then premium is the least you can get. The cannot resolve is the gps location as in latitude and longitude and then finding the address corresponding to it. Mine does it once in awhile but you can press the trip and see the details and it normally corrects itself.

It can also automatically lock/arm when walking away.
Isn’t it more of a lock/arm timer based on when the vehicle shuts down than proximity when walking away? I would love a proximity lock/arm but my experience is that it is more of a certain amount time passed and it locked vs how far away I was from the vehicle.

There are a couple ways to set it but the passive with rfid is supposed to sense the remote leaving the proximity (6-10 feet) but its more of a signal strength thing. If you sit in the car more than likely it will lock, then you would need to unlock it again. Nature of the beast I suppose.

Interesting. Is this a setting a user can configure? Or need to be done by an installer? Would like to fiddle with it some more if there is a true proximity option. I found the truck would lock when unloading the bed and that was just annoying but I guess that could be the 6-10 feet from the sensor issue?

Double press center button on T13 and then unlock, that is passive locking control. Press center button to toggle it. You can also do it through the dronemobile app. Setup, vehicles, select the vehicle, system and then at the very bottom you can toggle it. Then press save to save it.

Josh

Sorry, other half of question. If its not set correctly in the compustar brain then depending on the module you can toggle it with an OP500 of will need an idata cable to do it with a laptop.

I have a separate shock sensor installed on the factory alarm. I had the dealer do the hard flash on the RF module that will no longer allow for cloning of keys...U have to buy another spare or two in case u lose the first two sets as they can't undo the flash so lost keys means costly module install and new keys... Further, I am positive that the T13 can be used with just the Compustar Fob as they have a Faraday key locker they can install that allows u to leave the OEW fob in the vehicle and only use the Compustar Fob which is nice as I hate clutter... I also suggest a Balckview with battery back-up. When parking your rig, pull straight inward, preferably between two other vehicles, crank the wheel hard to one side, and lock the steering with a seatbelt or manual steering lock device that way the hook N book theif crews cant really jack you cause the truck won't pull out from the stall without totally hitting everything and going down the road sideways so they will be easy to spot.. (as these crews generally won't take time to smash the windows, they go fast with "hook and go" rigs like repo guys use). One other essential tip is that the shark's fin is your GPS antenna and while the Vehicle Assist group can work with police to find your rig, the thieves know to pop your 3rd brake light and cut the GPS antenna making that useless.. Using security screws on the 3rd brake light is a new idea and not something they plan for and further hiding the GPS antenna wires or simply installing a secondary GPS such as the Drone Mobile will help overcome that stunt... Last tip I can offer from all the things Ive heard is to secure the Neutral release ribbon for the transmission that if pulled puts your truck in neutral so it can be rolled away damage-free and quietly.. They make a spring steel cover plate and security hardware that makes it really hard to access.... TIME is not on the thief's side, so if they need more than 30-60 seconds they will already be thinking it's time to bail out.. Doesn't always work that way, as many owners serve-up their trucks to would be thieves on a silver platter like parking in remote areas or dark places or just plain dumb locations where the thieves can take all damn day to work on the theft... Oh, and Im told if u "Lock" the door when leaving the vehicle, esp in congested of big metro areas, use the lock pad on the door handle, and Not your Fob so there isn't a broadcasted signal to clone if u haven't disabledd the clone option yet... I parked my 21 at O'Hare Int Airport for a week and couldn't relax on my trip and kept looking at my apps to make sure it was still there.. I don't take the 24 anywhere long term, I figure my GMC is good enough for airports and shitty places.. its a Denali and gets FAR less attention than our beautiful TRX's get.. Good luck out there boys! Its a crying shame we owners have to put so much work and money and awareness into protecting these amazing trucks when the MFG's do have better solutions they refuse to implement... Conceal and Carry is also mandatory these days ;).... don't be afraid to use it...just saying ;)

I scanned through this and just want you to know you are completely misinformed. Locking your rf hub doesn’t stop them from cloning your key, they 100% can and leave in around 10 seconds.
The locking of the hub has changed too, they built in a work around that makes it possible if the conditions are right. There are also other ways they can do it as well, trx is a bit harder and time consuming.
It doesn’t matter if you have a compustar alarm, it can be driven away while the alarm is going off.
GMC’s especially denalis are stolen far more than a trx.
Go get IGLA installed on both and do it correctly

Not all settings are available for every vehicle. You can take it back to the installer and have a couple opened like passive arming but aux is obsolete unless you are going to wire the output to something snd if so the settings need to be toggled on and then the output changed to what is needed and latched for how long its needed. You can remove aux from your command screen in the app. As for it glitching, you have an AT&T sim in the drone module, you probably need to have the sim swapped to a verizon sim because of bad service in your area. There is also a setting in the app to auto refresh when you open the apl, even with it on you still need to pull down on the page and let it refresh, I have to almost every time I open the app for all my vehicles I have them installed on.

What is the process of switching out the sim to Verizon? It wasn’t mentioned as an option when my sytem was installed. I have had drone for over a year now and it never connects when I am parked at home. Then I will sometimes get ignition off messages in the middle of the night when I’ve been home for 8 hours.
