Anyone lower a trx

Am I reading this right? Is this the coils for the TRX to drop it down? The reason I am asking is because I have ran into parts that say TRX and they are for some older truck that Dodge made. This has the 2021 year designation on the description. Maybe it is. I'm sending them a message.

I spoke to the owner of Black Ops a couple months back and he seemed quite knowledgeable. He was waiting for the Japanese company (he didn’t want to work with cheaper Chinese manufacturers) he was working with to get the design specs right if they could on lowering springs, saying it was quite complicated because of the unique dimensions of TRX rear springs. I mentioned to him that I was only looking to even the front out by lowering an inch in the rear and he said that the plan was to offer a few lowering options as he also had a few guys who wanted much lower stances for drag racing.

Honestly Id be more inclined to buy the 1500 GT, change the fenders and slap some boost to it.
I dunno. Just spec'ed one out, and even with the skinny fenders it still looks a lot like a TRX.

Just with weaker drive train components, and it's not all that much less money, especially if then adding a blower or turbo to make it run somewhat like a TRX.

I'd much rather change the fenders on the TRX.

To each their own and I actually love the idea if Ram made one. But taking an offroad truck and lowering it, I just dont see the point is all. And again, love the look. You'll be doing A LOT of suspension work, bump stops, sway bars etc, all that aren't designed together. Also, 1500s you can get great deals on.

Like you said, to each their own.

I bought the TRX not to be an "offroad truck" but a much less boring 1500 to use when the weather is bad. Or, as yesterday, to get a 150-lb. hydraulic cylinder home. A bit hard to use a forklift and put it in a car's trunk, but just fine in the TRX's minuscule bed on a small pallet.

Also, I value handling a lot, so the as delivered height isn't exactly in my favor. I've improved things by changing tires and adding an anti-sway bar, but lowering would certainly help, and losing an inch or two wouldn't hurt all that much in two feet of snow. Where mine's already hurting.

Understood. And I dont think many of us bought it to be an offroad truck or tackling everything its designed to. That said, when I refer to it as offroad truck I meant in which the entire vehicle is designed for. When we modify things we tend to screw up the design of it, lowering it or lifting it will have adverse effects, somewhere. Please dont take it the wrong way when I say this but sounds like you may have the wrong truck for what you need. When Im using it as a truck, its design does not interfere with what Im doing, but if it did, Id get a different truck for the job and deal with not having the benefits of everything else. Just my two cents.

I don't think I bought the wrong pickup - it's the only one I could get with that engine.

It really replaced a Trackhawk, which wasn't quite what I liked for snow usage, plus its weight made it a disappointment compared to the Challenger. So in my case the TRX is a good replacement for a 'Hawk and a regular 1500.

To me it's a car with a tiny bed on it, enough to haul five or six cases of water from the store, with a great engine, sketchy handling, and yeah, that great engine. If it looked more like a regular 1500, was a bit lower, and had a decent top speed, it'd be better yet, I think. Much better.

One thing is for sure. It would be darn hard to make the TRX handle any worse on the highway. The only thing my 2017 raptor was better at than the trx was its handling on the road. The trx is a wobble box. Especially at speeds over 100. If it ever starts to do that slow rock back and forth at high speeds you better find the brake pedal. I love my TRX. I have put 26000 miles on mine. Most at 85 to 100mph. But it has some issues. Everything has its weak spots.

I would agree that most of the time when you modify a vehicle by raising or lowering it you tend to find the weaker spots. However with the TRX modifying it by lowering it and putting smaller lighter tires on may just be the best way to fix the fluffy brakes and the sketchy suspension.

AND thanks for the replies everyone. I know some of you just can't fathom how anyone would lower the TRX but it's just a truck. Let's give it a try and see how it works. Hell it may be awful. But if I were betting I would put money on it being an absolute blast to drive on twisty roads. And I would bet it would be an absolute monster in the 1/8 mile.

I dunno about that. A simple tire swap to even wider ones on the narrow OE wheels should do the trick.
Ram built a very nice well thought out truck. But when it came time to place the order for tires someone dropped the ball for sure. Just curious, has a oem like RAM ever used a company like Nitto when putting a new vehicle out.

I’m honestly surprised that we haven’t seen a YouTuber do this yet. It would not be for me but I think it could be a very cool build on its own.

Interesting, the one thing I love about this truck is how great it handles. I do have wider tires (maybe .3") but with a shorter sidewall and I installed a rear sway bar.

Ahh this is what I was thinking also...
I JUST messaged them on the site about a 1" lower rear spring just to reverse level and barely be noticeable and ideally that spring be just a LITTLE firmer... this way the truck is level and does not sag when you put 3 items from Home Depot in the bed :)

My buddy sent me these off a Facebook post lol

If it was from the factory maybe, like the single cab rumble bee trucks.

I’ve heard a lot of snivelin, bitching and complaining but not a damn thing about the OP’s question….
Has anyone successfully lowered one of these trucks?
The only company I’ve come across is Black Ops and they don’t even have them on the site any longer…

5 month old sniveling, bitching and complaining.....
You would think we could get some NEW sniveling, bitching and complaining.....

I like the wallowing for tossing the weight on off-ramps/etc. around our native metro-Phoenix (then again that's how I broke the rear end gears in my Gen2 Raptor.. hmmm).

Would be nice if one could add an Uber-Sport mode to the settings (maybe a software program?) - and agree having spent a lot of time at 100+ in our TRX it feels looser than my last Raptor (governed at 106mph). Driving crappy 80's lifted trucks at stupid speeds and kind of adapting during those formative immortal years has offset some current antics (pic on desolate secondary roads crossing Oklahoma/posted 70mph) LOL!

Likewise - I've only seen one mention of a company rebuilding the factory TRX shocks (and now can't find it!)...but wish Bilstein (like Fox) offered an upgraded option (priced less than Kings/perhaps even a trade in credit for OEM) in which the user could spec' them per their driving style/weight carried/and other dynamics. Years ago I had some Ohlins suspension tailored in similar fashion on my BMW GS-Adventure and it was an incredible improvement especially with my 280pd Linebacker build and stuffed panniers on trips.
