HOT! 2027 RAM TRX is Back as the Fastest and Most Powerful Production Gas Pickup Truck in the World

Probably better to wait to the second model year
I also believe waiting for the 2028 model year is prudent. I’ll let the initial 2027 purchasers get the bugs worked out before I trade in my 2022.

Hopefully, the TRX will remain in the lineup until 2033 when I get around to purchasing a new truck. I bought my Raptor in 2013 and kept it until 2023 when I got my TRX. I tend to be on a 10 year cycle. Maybe the TRX will fly by then.

Some numbers to throw out there (before dealer discounts or markups):
-Ram RHO starts at $75,000 ish (add the Level 1 package and you’re at $85,000) with destination
-Ford Raptor on 35’s starts at $82,000 with destination
-Ford Raptor on 37’s starts at $94,000 with destination
-2027 Ram TRX starts at $102,000 with destination
-Ford Raptor R starts at $114,000 with destination

From a value standpoint, the RHO is probably the best option of the trucks. From an off road standpoint, I’d argue the Raptor on 37’s is the better option (better ground clearance, and I think Ford did a better job with the Fox shocks). The problem Ford has is every version of the Raptor is marked up between $5,000 for a base and sometimes $30,000 for the R. So now we’re back at the value argument, and it’s between the RHO and the TRX. A heavily optioned RHO can be had for less than $80,000 after dealer discounts, and the TRX will be in the window of $95,000 after discounts.

So for $80,000 a RHO, or for $95,000ish a 2027 TRX?

And this is the debate going on in my mind now. So I really like my 2022 L2 and haven't had any problems (other than them fucxing with the OTA updates like most of us have had). Love the colors and no dings, dents scratches, inside or out. I've already fixed the speed limiter so it goes plenty fast now. So should I spend 10, 20 or 30k to add on some performance enhancements to get 800 to 850+hp and make it quicker? Might update/upgrade a few other maintenance things too. (Brakes, belts, filters, fluids, etc). Then I ask myself, isn't it already quick enough now? I rarely really launch the truck since just good solid acceleration beats just about anything out there.:unsure::unsure:
The answer to that is always NO.

1. Can someone confirm if the clunk/thud of the CV has been addressed? If not that is pathetic of RAM.

2. And yes, same shitty brakes!

3. Yup exterior Red accents are hideous

You’d think they would have taken feedback from all of their existing customers and at least addressed the mechanical issues that everyone had.

Yeah I’m not in any rush to reorder until clarity is offered on the items above.

Am I being unreasonable or do others feel the same?

Are you serious about V6 peasant Raptors being marked up by $5k?

Obviously not, my local had almost 10k off their last dealer order to move it off the lot finally after about 6 months of it sitting.

I replaced my stock ones with ebc rotors and green pads, made the world of difference and was only around $800

They aren’t being marked up by 5k if the dealer wants to move them. Stop by a dealer and ask and they’ll give you “family pricing”. You can get a raptor on 35’s for 78k pretty easily.

A v6 TT Raptor is 5th in line now behind the TRX second Gen, Raptor R, TRX first Gen and RHO. If a dealer is trying to charge adm on a regular Raptor I would laugh in their face.

Again - $5,000 markup on a Ranger Raptor, 35” Raptor, and 37” Raptor at the Missoula Lithia Ford.

Locally they are. My local dealer marks up the Ranger Raptor $5,000.

Similar ADM's here, 2.5 hours west of you. $5k for the Raptor and $25k for an R. Unless you buy a leftover '25. Those are going for MSRP.

The only reason I bought a Raptor locally back in 2020 was because it was the start of Covid (late March) and nobody was buying anything locally. I remember getting around $5,000 off sticker at the time. When I traded the Raptor in on the TRX in August of 2021 I got $4,000 more than I paid for it. It honestly was a nice truck, but when the market went stupid, I had to make the change!

If I win the lottery I'd consider buying locally...and pay thousands more than I have to.

No, not really. I like my out of state dealer and don't mind taking the trailer for a 900 mile roundtrip.

So @Two are you considering an upgrade for the 2027 model?

I think everyone on here is considering it. More hp with a warranty reset and a new truck smell. If that's not enough, maybe the headliner will... per suede you 😉 🤣.

I’m not considering it. For me there’s not enough change/improvement over my 2021 to consider it. That and the wife already said “you’re not really thinking about a new TRX, are you?”

It’s hard to justify a vehicle that will come in at close to $100,000 even with dealer discounts. I just can’t wrap my mind around those kind of numbers. I look forward to others making the change, but I’m sitting this one out for now.
