HOT! 2027 RAM TRX is Back as the Fastest and Most Powerful Production Gas Pickup Truck in the World

I DD my 2022. Just over 64k miles now. I'll probably be in the buyer pool for a new 2028 if the hype wears off enough we can order with a guaranteed discount.
Serrano Green with no sunroof, please. 😁

Apparently, I'm the only one that pushed the start button on the Ram trucks website. Those dumbasses used the sound clip for the RHO. 🤣

The only upgrade that interests me is the suede headliner. The red accents are atrocious. There's no chance I'm getting rid of my truck, but I may be compelled to get a 2027 as a new daily only if there is an option to get rid of the red accents and get a 10-year/100k-mile warranty. I am very glad to see a HP increase, but it will likely be barely noticeable.

Yea would be really disappointing if they don’t offer a red accent delete. The hooks are not bad but the grille is a no go. Worst case scenario is a layer of plasti dip.

Sorry to dissapoint "Every TRX features a bold Flame Red R-A-M grille badge with a flow-through design, complemented by matching Flame Red front and rear tow hooks. SRT badging adorns the grille and tailgate, while a new TRX tailgate logo proudly depicts the apex predator that ruled the dinosaur age."

There seems to be some good news. The "Level 2" package will be standard including carbon fiber and red accents. These options coming as standard this brings the "price" down to about $85K if we were to "pay" for these options seperetly, this makes the truck more aligned with 2023 TRX pricing. The official announcement from Stellantis mentions the following.

  • Technology highlights include a standard best-in-class 14.5-inch touchscreen, 12.3-inch digital cluster and Head-Up Display with 10-inch field of view
  • Fully equipped as standard, luxury appointments include hand-wrapped leather interior surfaces, heated, ventilated and massaging front seats, class-exclusive dual wireless charging pads and a 19-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system
  • For the first time, TRX also features Hands-Free Active Drive Assist (L2+) as standard.
  • Unexpected Luxury
The 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX proves that cutting-edge performance doesn’t come at the expense of refinement. Ram’s interior design team focused on every tactile element the driver interacts with, delivering an experience that feels as good as it performs. Authentic premium materials—including real carbon fiber, alloys, leather and suede—are executed with class-leading craftsmanship, delivering unexpected luxury to the off-road pickup segment.

Inside, TRX elevates Ram’s benchmark interiors with even more detail. Drivers are greeted by 12-way power front seats with memory function, massage and heating and ventilation—comfort that extends to the second row with class-exclusive reclining, heated and ventilated rear seats. Seating surfaces are finished in black premium Natura Plus leather with perforated suede inserts and bold red bolster accents. Red contrast stitching flows across the hand-wrapped dashboard, door panels and center console and is further complemented by red embroidered TRX seatback logos and TRX-exclusive Ruby Red seatbelts.

For the first time, TRX features a leather-wrapped airbag cover with red stitching, a full suede headliner and suede-wrapped visors—details borrowed from the Ram 1500 Tungsten, the most luxurious interior in the light-duty segment.

Genuine carbon fiber trim frames the digital instrument cluster, covers the upper glovebox lid and accents the leather-trimmed door panels and rear console endcap. The TRX logo on the passenger side dashboard is precision-milled into the carbon fiber using a laser-guided process, underscoring Ram’s obsession with unrivaled finish.

The exterior red accents should be easily changeable. It's the red interior accents that concern me—all the red stitching, badges, speaker covers, etc. A similar package was offered for the 1st gen TRXs, but it appears to be standard with the 2nd gens

Glad the hellcat is back in a truck. However, Red accent interior package is standard….. that is unfortunate. I am not a red accent guy and the exterior red accent is a no go.

I can’t get past the 99k (102k with destination) base model price. Which isn’t this one

OMG, I hope it's not the same twits setting up the new TRX that pushed out the RHO pictures to our current TRX's.

Yeah, I could see a couple of IT dorks setting up the TRX info on Ram's website..."hey Mr. Poindexter", "yes Mr. Milquetoast"..."I'm adding a TRX sound clip to the website, it's the same as the RHO, right"? Yep, I just put the finishing touches on FCA-MY24.U35.26/PROD and can confirm both trucks are identical.

I love my 2022 Level 1, I should have ordered Level 2, but I was being cheap lol!

I like the bump in HP, SRT emblems and subtle changes, but if it comes with the 10 year 100K I might be all in for one.

I was going to pull the trigger on a 24 order, but the starting price turned me off.

Let’s see which dealers offer the discounts and if it makes sense why not?

It’s Back! Ram’s Wild 2027 TRX Packs 777 Horsepower to Flex on Ford’s Raptor R

Meet the latest member of the Hellcat family, which combines the base “orange block” lower end with the Demon’s valvetrain to hit a jackpot of 7-7-7 horsepower.

That meant the engineers had to look at improving induction flow, optimizing all of the air pathways in ways that reduced induction restriction by 18 percent. They also fitted the valvetrain from the “red block” engines (Redeye, Super Stock, Demon) so they could rev the new TRX engine faster than the previous one. Jagoda wouldn’t specify a redline but expect something between the 6,100 rpm the old one did and the 6,500 rpm a Demon turns. All that air comes in through both the grille and the hood nostril, entering a radial air cleaner circumferentially to ensure even distribution, good flow, and filter life. This breathing improvement is responsible for the massive 10 percent increase in horsepower and a bump in torque from 650 to 680 lb-ft. The TRX output ratings eclipse those of its closest Brand F competitor by 57 horsepower and 40 lb-ft of torque.

Mildly Modified TorqueFlite Transmission

The Hellcat family uses the highest-torque-rated version of the ubiquitous ZF 8HP95 eight-speed transmission, but this is its first outing with the new Atlantis electrical architecture, so just as the engine had to be programmed to work with the 15 electronic modules it works with, so did the transmission have to learn to communicate with the new “high-control” powertrain module. And because the transmission is a bit wider than the midrange model fitted to most other DT Ram 1500s, a few other modifications were required.

Suspension Mods

Chassis-wise, the new TRX builds on the RHO, which built on the OG TRX—especially where the Bilstein BlackHawk e2 Ram Active Terrain Dynamics shocks are concerned. The RHO introduced the second generation of that shock design, bringing improved ride control and drive-mode differentiation, all of which gets a further round of refinement based on lessons learned in this TRX application, so that relative to the last TRX we should notice less float and a bigger difference between the drive modes.

Here are some documents I found that Ram supplied for the 2027 TRX. Unfortunately, it looks like there is no red-accent delete package. The red carbon fiber and interior emblems appear to be specific to the launch edition. The red stitching is not mentioned, so I'm guessing it is standard.

What I found interesting is in the engine specs...777hp @ 6,500 rpm. That is the same shift point as the redeyes. Stellanti's article about the 2027 TRX, as copied in the original post, states it still has a 2.4 IHI. The HP increase is from a raised shift point and, potentially, increased boost with a smaller pulley or better flowing intake system.

Edit: Looks like Stradale posted same time as me and found an article that mentions using the redeye valvetrain.

Check out this little nugget that @Jimmy07 discovered.

I guess the biggest question now is
When will the ordering banks be open?

Hmmmmmmm may have to get one of these. My 1st Gen was a POS. It is a little too pimped up for my taste and hope that some of this crap can be omitted if ordered. Going to give it at least a full year to get the bugs worked out which you know will be many.

As a previous TRX and current Tungsten owner, I am disappointed. Sure more hp is welcome but everything else is just recycled from previous TRX/RHO. I wish they had changed the interior to differentiate from previous TRX and gave it Tungsten seats.

In a way I am happy that it is not a big difference so less temptation to immediately switch from Tungsten.
