VIN “811 & 812” April Order Group

This is a really sad thing, people should get their trucks in the order they were placed.
I dunno. I would not want my order to wait just because someone that ordered some option that there's a shortage of parts for ordered before I did.
And I'm sure Ram wouldn't want the assembly line idle during the wait, either.

Once built, I also wouldn't want to wait until all prior orders have cleared inspection, are done at the upfitters, etc.

And lastly, transport logistics would become a nightmare if they had to deliver them in the same order as the orders were placed.

Thats just it....there is no part shortage on mine, it because I live in a rural area and the dealer is smaller. Yes 100% agree production should not be held up for waiting on certain parts....but if the parts are available...I Shouldnt be held up because my dealer is smaller.

A dealership couldn't get much smaller than the one we use, yet the vehicles have been made and delivered in a timely fashion. With one notable exception, but that had nothing to do with the size of the dealership. Or lack thereof.

what state are your from, I bet you have double the population of the state i live in.

I almost always buy from out of state, and for FCA/Stellantis vehicle, generally from Utah.
No idea what the population is there. But it's more than here.

according to the census take in 2021 utah is about 3.34 million people where Idaho is about 1.7 million.
The area I live in, is very rural....the town ordered has about 45-50 people. Where I live.....is unincorporated its so small.

I thought there was something to this small dealership idea too until this weekend. I was visiting family in KY and the dealership in this SMALL TOWN (population less than 20K) had this sitting on the lot. Not even a sold order, it was a dealer order. This dealership had maybe 50 cars on their lot. Picture of the lot below the picture of the truck. Based on this, I am having second thoughts about trucks going first to larger dealers.

Well its possible....that one order was made early and their turn finally came up. I explained this as it was explained to me from my dealer. Say you have Dealer A and Dealer B. Both are small dealers. Say both are allotted 1 TRX. Say you have a larger dealers D-F that are all allotted 5 TRX trucks. Once the larger dealers have reached their allotted numbers.....then the smaller dealers will get theirs. IT was something like that, I may have it wrong....but its something along those lines.

Yes. I do agree with building what they can based on parts. I do not agree with preferential treatment based on size of populous.

Well, had to look it up. The bustling metropolis where mine is ordered from (same place as my girlfriend's came from) has a population of 7.731.
And at least one other forum member has also ordered from that dealership.

The last 6 of my vin are 812176. Chatted this morning with someone from the ran helpline and told me this

I got almost the same message. Possibly a different cue card that they were reading from. Mine was a shorter message but said the same.

Yep, that's D status

And 903 delivered in early April, and many of them well before that. So what?
What is there to gain from giving them sequential VINs?

It does make sense for street addresses, but doesn't matter for a social security number, electric bill account number, and most other things. Including a VIN.
