I love my Gen 2 Raptor, but with the way the world is going I feel like the TRX is my only chance at getting back into a V8 off road truck before it is too late, as I am not willing to pay Raptor R pricing.

I do off road a lot, would love feedback from others that have compared both off road!

A great percentage of TRX owners are Raptor converts. The majority overwhelmingly agree that they made the right choice. Except for that one dude. But we think he was a Ford corporate spy that joined the TRX forum to talk shit 🙂.
There are plenty of TRX’s around now-a-days. I am sure you can get a taste test prior to purchase somewhere. Good luck

Never been in a Raptor but the TRX eats up some trails it's just big on most trails. On one pretty mild trail, I was able to complete a 10 mile run faster in the TRX than I could in the Wrangler and it was much more comfortable too.

Ya. Raptor is too wide too. Just adds to the fun. I am definitely a Ford fan boy but the Gen 3 raptors dont really do anything for me over my modified Gen 2.

I had a Gen 2 Raptor that I traded in on my TRX. The Raptor suspension did feel a little tighter and more dialed in when going fast over whoops. The TRX seems to bottom out a little easier, probably just due to the weight. I actually prefer the softer ride of the TRX on the highway though. I always have the suspension in baja mode and it's like riding on a cloud of titties. The power and sound of the motor in the TRX is obviously much better than the V6 Raptor. I put the muffler they use on the Limited Ecoboost trucks on my Raptor to quiet down the motor--thought it sounded terrible from the factory.

Good Feedback! That mirrors what I have read elsewhere. A used TRX and Kings will still be less than a Raptor R haha.

I don’t know about Y’all, but I’m going for a ride on a cloud of titties this evening!

I just sold my 2019 Raptor (stage 2 Goosetuned) a few days ago, and am taking delivery of my TRX at the end of April.
Surprisingly, I don’t feel sad about getting rid of the Raptor like I thought I would.

I have yet to hear of someone who regrets making the switch. The TRX is definitely something that will not be made in the future sadly, so make the purchase while you can still get one.

I’m a Ram guy at heart. I went from a 2004 Ram 2500 Hemi (hence the lame ass user name I’ve rocked for years) to a 2012 Ram Power Wagon. From there I dabbled with the dark side and bought a 2020 Ford Raptor. A year and a half later (and 13,700 miles) I said good bye to the Raptor and took delivery of my TRX. After a year and 8 months (and almost 19,000 miles) I can’t image what I would trade or sell this truck for.

I really can’t say anything bad about my Raptor (other than the fake engine sound piped into the cab). It really was a nice truck. It was comfortable, had good power, and the fuel economy was amazing for a truck (500 miles per tank easy). It did most of the things my TRX does just fine, with the obvious exception of speed and exhaust note. I liked the Raptor, it I just didn’t love it. It’s nothing tangible, I just didn’t love it.

Living in Western Montana we don’t have any high speed desert running. We have dirt roads for miles with washboard that will rattle lesser vehicles. Both trucks handle those roads the same.

The one thing that always bothered me about the Raptor was that when cruising on the highway in windy conditions the truck got pushed around a lot. The TRX being heavier feels much more planted in those conditions.

Both are great trucks. If you can get a test drive in a TRX I’d suggest that. It would be a great place to start.
