What does the torque tube achieve? Durability when putting the power down on a modified TRX? I can’t seem to find it on Hammer’s website.

It's not listed anywhere unfortunately.
When the passenger tire lifts and regains traction while on the throttle the passenger side diff mount can break. Especially with a diff drop and big HP.
Mine did NOT break because of stress. Mine broke because my diff mount bolts came loose.
Diff drop instructions said use antisieze and i should have just used loctite....

Ah that makes sense. I would be interested in doing both, but I guess it would depend on cost of the torque tube. I’ll have to ponder since I’m stock height but do get on the gas quite a bit…

I talked to Shawn from Hammer Performance a few hours ago and he is confirming the current price as it sounds like they may have raised the price significantly.... Hopefully it's not too stupid or I'll just order a whole OEM front diff assembly and hope for the best.

The Billet front diff tube is going to be over $4,000 after Import and Custom fees…

Looks like I’ll buy a whole OEM Front axel assembly for $1,300…

That's pretty obscene. You could get one made for a fraction of that, either locally or in China, even with the import fees.

At 4k I’d get rho 3.90 front diff and put together the rho rear 3.90 gear parts kit and regear

I thought about it but making this much power I don’t know that I need 3.90. Maby on 40’s though.

Luckily the whole diff didn't fall out because one of the bolts is captured under the factory mount so it couldn't walk all the way out.

Red loctite will be used on EVERYTHING this time around lol.

Yea so i checked mine and must've used threadlocker (blue) b/c i cant even tighten them up a smidge. Added some torque stripe since my paint pen was starting to wear

Nope, wasn’t about to pay 4k for a damn tube. Just bought a whole new diff for $1,400

How hard was the install? Any special tools or procedures required? I just finally fixed the dang pinion seal leak we had in our front diff but i'm envisioning a new front diff may be in our not so distant future.

Honestly it was super easy.
Pull both CV’s, remove crossmember, unbolt driveshaft, unbolt diff, and mount the new one up.
No special tools, or procedures.

Just be gentle breaking in the diff for a little bit then swap fluid if you’re into that kind of thing lol.
The diff shipped full of fluid, always top it off though just as a CYA.
