That's actually the best way to do itI'm asking my dealer in MA to see if they can provide the invoice to the DMV when they go to register it, I'll keep you posted on what they say.

A few post back I put up an example of what I'm doing to get passed it still waiting for my paperwork! I had my truck since January and my paperwork is still being worked on as of Friday, been driving all this time with my old plate from my 2019 ram 1500 with an updated insurance card and my ram 1500 registrationHow are you NY guys getting around this commercial plate thing? My dealer told me I have to have commercial plates. Total bullshit. How do I get regular passenger plates?

I will have one available when I get the truck back from xpel and ceramic coating this week. I am looking to get MSRP as there is only around 100 miles on the truck.Anyone in NJ area want to sell their rambar? Targeting mine around end of the month.
What you paying for the xpel if you don’t mind me askin? I’m in NJ also and was quoted $7600 for the whole truckI will have one available when I get the truck back from xpel and ceramic coating this week. I am looking to get MSRP as there is only around 100 miles on the truck.
You cannot get on some highways with commercial plates. e.g. Palisade parkway on the Jersey sideWhat's the big issue with running commercial plates in NY? A bit more for registration....I don't see the issue. My dealer gave me new plates.....
LE in Central Jersey.
I wanted the extra protection and I am getting the xpel and ceramic pro for $9000.What you paying for the xpel if you don’t mind me askin? I’m in NJ also and was quoted $7600 for the whole truck
Oh....gotcha. Thanks for the info. I don't have that problem in upstate. You cannot get on some highways with commercial plates. e.g. Palisade parkway on the Jersey side
Thanks for the info Mike. I'm not downstate often unless traveling south and then I take I-88 to I-81 through PA. I usually hop on an Amtrak if I'm visiting the city.Yeah almost every road in southern NY is a parkway so they are passenger vehicles only, if you are in Long Island you are extra screwed there is only one main highway I think that you can drive on. Since the plates are a diff color too it's so easy for a copy to just pull you over.
Yes, I have orange plates on my 3/4 duramax and the new white Excelsior plates on the TRX.....The added registration cost for commercial is based on weight, 6001-6500 is $93 extra. Anything above 6100 lbs in NY is considered Commercial
Anything called a “parkway” in NY state cannot be used by “commercial vehicles”.. Also cannot use HOV lanes of the Long Island Expressway or even use the left lane on the LIE.
Dont think the plate color is different, I’ve seen commercial plates in the old 70’s style orange & blue style & the newer “Excelsior” white. Besides saying “commercial” at the bottom of the plate which is easy enough to cover up with the right license plate frame, the sequence of numbers & letters are different than passenger plates, you will see numbers then “MN” at the end or believe also ”DB”. You CAN get personalized plates for a commercial vehicle though instead.
Cannot wait to make like Snake Plissken.
I did the oil change and gear box level top offs with it sitting as is in my garage. However, I do have a pair of Race Ramps for low profile vehicles with removable rear sections that I used on my Challenger and C7. They work good for the Satellite and will be useful if I ever install cutouts and need more clearance. As a side note, what do you guys use to work on these trucks ramps/jack stands? I don't have access to a lift and I'm a little concerned with using jack stands for something this big, thinking about getting some nice ramps.
