Shortage on Parts

Well congrats to the buyers picking up their trucks! Like others I am disappointed at the moment, but I know the feeling will be overcome once the truck eventually arrives. I get the frustration over the non sequential numbers being built. In many lines of manufacturing just one missing part delays the build. Parts come from all over the world. “Just in time” inventory is proving it does not work during a pandemic.
I too have a Bronco ordered, and it is off in the unforeseeable future for delivery. I reserved within one hour, and it’s all a mystery when they will arrive. So in my opinion, I’m more impressed with Dodge at this moment.
I am happy for those of you receiving your TRX prior to me. Enjoy!
Now come on and post some Pics!!!

I haven't been notified of anything from Ford or my dealership other than I would be able to order a Bronco soon.
I was in on the reserve list day one. So far, RAM has done a better job than Ford has on the Bronco.
I’m a 7/14 (Day 2) Bronco reservation holder, which is why I was late to the TRX party. Ford has made the release of the Bronco a disaster. They made promises and pulled them back and cut a lot of corners just to get them released.

I was going to get a Wildtrak, which is trim below their First Edition (FE), but due to weight restrictions I can’t even put my kayak on the roof because it would put it over its weight max! The list goes on and on.

So if you think the TRX process is bad the Bronco release is worse. They are actually following The Bronco forums and are actually finally listening to all the gripes. The CEO of Ford, Jim Farley, posted on Twitter today about a change to the interior color of their FE, which was a huge concern as the color they had it coming with was awful. Farley wrote Ford has been listening to social media which is why they made the quick change.

Keep in mind there were around 190k reservations and they expect 75% to convert to orders. A recent email came out stating certain trims and accessories, which they actually listed, will cause delays. It is also believed only those with Day 1 to maybe Day 3 reservations with get MY21 Broncos and the rest will have to wait for MY22’s.

At least some here received their TRX’s while no one has taken possession of their Bronco and probably won’t until at least June, which is almost one year from the first reservation date.

Sorry for the long response, but just want you all to know the grass isn’t any greener on the other side.

I get where your coming from but this is more FCA's fault as a company rather than its vendors. GM informed people of delays, Ford delayed releasing the Bronco, Rivian pushed deliveries. Ram has played shadow games ever since Oct. Covid happened in March, not August, parts shortages didn't happen today, they happened a loooonnnnngggg time ago. Parts shortages have been going on well before the email in December promising Q1 delivery dates. Rumors of shortages have been around since Oct. This is a lack of common sense not just supply. This FCA, FAILURE to COMMUNICATE ANYTHING. People have to find out about this thru leaks, barely anyone would have any idea when their truck would ever come if it wasn't NON-employees Triple and KnightMare. Parts shortages are a part but communication is the bigger problem with FCA as a company. Not the dealers, not the suppliers, the main company.

Why would you make 100's of media test mules with high options that you are in shortage of? There is no reason for maybe a few mules to run around with beadlocks and carbon if everyone is having a shortage for MONTHS. I've seen reviews where they'll say a certain system or things doesn't work because it is a pre production model. Could of made a bunch of black base or TR1 mules to save the the 2 tones, beadlocks, parking sensors, and TR2 seats for production. Could of made 5 TR2 mules, have all the journalist test it over a weekend, and embargo the videos, done.

I'm trying to dig up info on why there is a constraint on doing 2 tone paint. If it's such a problem, why not offer a 2 tone delete package like the rebel? Or make it a dang sticker pack. And if you know you have a parts shortage in March, why the heck would you ramp up production? If they stayed making 30 TRX's a day, they would have at least till April for parts to get caught up, not run 50+ for a week and potentially run out in 30 days? Now we understand why they cut LE production and made only black trucks. Why they started skipping all the way to October orders.
valid point on the communication, no matter what it can always be better. As for why they’ve built what they’ve built 🤷🏻‍♂️ all I can say is that most likely somewhere there is someone looking at lost sales, and they ran the list of options and colors through an analysis and presto it said build all the black...and build fast so they can invoice And book the sales.

also, if you could be a purchasing manager Somewhere , that would be awesome. “Not the vendors fault” has probably never come out of an automotive buyers mouth 😆 it’s ALWAYS THE VENDORS FAULT AND THEY SHALL PAY DEARLY FOR FAILURES BEYOND THEIR CONTROL

Thanks brother. Most of us understand and just like to vent. Still pisses me off however that FCA sent a crap load of perfectly good Launch Editions to Canada AFTER you dropped my 10/28 build date. But I get it, we all have to do what we can to placate Canada (sarcasm and I am not really mad or upset at Canada).
Let’s not make America’s Hat angry. They need trucks, too.

Being a IT consultant having to purchase network equipment all the time.... I know your pain ;)

The difference for me I suppose is I care about my TRX order. I could care less about the wife's Bronco order, let alone the Bronco itself, so I feel no angst whatsoever about its delays.
Unless the wife decides she wants the TRX and gives you the Bronco...😬

True story. When I bought my first Hellcat I was following the break in religiously. She takes it out to go shopping, comes home and says “I got it up to 127.” I am thinking no way in hell. Sure enough
Sounds like you found the right wife lol.

Hell I know more about your build then your dealer... What does that say about the company lol
This!! I told my dealer about the expected build date for my LE. He was like what? I told him that I (because of you!) would know when it’s built and headed to quality before he would 😂.

I still hate canadians and black trucks. This isn’t helping my bigotry.

My order is a level 1 but two tone and Parksense. I went cheap with my order but I still hit some constraints. Crap

I agree with many of the comments about supply shortage, etc, and how we clearly don't have much control over those issues. However, it seems there could have been better organization in planning what trucks could and should be built with consideration of many other factors in this entire process from order dates to delivery logistics.

I am like an expectant mother. I’m distracting myself, designing a new garage in which the TRX can fit. Also making a list of where I want to take the little bugger on trips.

I have to reach out to some sources...
From the info I've seen I would say builds are safe until March... but if you have any of the things listed above you could get pushed if inventory doesn't recover... and it is saying a LONG push, maybe even to MY22
Noooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!

In that case why not just schedule a c section now so you know when that baby is coming.

I wonder if the problem with my LE = Late Edition was that I used a smaller dealer????

A smaller dealer definitely can slow your order down. It depends on their pull with their regional rep.

When I ordered my 2019 ZR1, my dealer was a very low volume Corvette dealer and I was #2 on their list. Unexpectedly, a friend with pull in Detroit was able to get my order pulled up but I was told it was more difficult to make happen because my order was with a low corvette volume dealer.

What started me with them was I ordered a day 1 Trackhawk that came in fast, a Demon that came in fast then I ordered a LE Gladiator from this same local dealer and it seemed that everyone was driving around in a Gladiator other than me! I learn slow I guess.

I mean is it really this bad they getting people into base models now? This was a white TR1 dealer stock order not converted to a customer order.
