Shortage on Parts

I regret getting back in the roller coaster. They gave me hope with a VIN but it feels like RAM just did that to save face. *sigh*

Ram really doesn't know how to build trucks or understand manufacturing.

Ok so let me see if I can clear this up some with this info a few people have sent me so far... Like I said earlier I haven't reached out to sources yet but this is what I interpreted from the info:

Based on the info. They only want FUTURE orders to basically be black TR1 so they can let the inventory recover while still building TRX's.

They are going to balance out builds this week this week so they can get trucks out. I'm going to wait a week & pull build dates again to see the changes but I know there are a couple anvils & a granite that got made for this week.

If you have a build date before March, you are most likely safe, just depends on what shuffling they do.
After March, if inventory doesn't recover, then if you a lv2, 2 tone paint, carbon, or beadlocks in your build... your getting pushed... and some people might get pushed until MY22... And even then they only have but so many TR1 seats left...

And the exact words used were "no/little" remaining March capacity and I know for a fact that builds were slow today...

So the next 5 weeks are going to be very important. So that explains the all black TRX's and people who ordered in Oct getting builds.

I AM NOT PULLING ANY NEW BUILD DATES UNTIL NEXT WEEK AFTER THEY RESHUFFLE BUILDS!!!!

I do have level 2 but no carbon fiber or bead locks.

I was told before I ordered that any add on options, ie bead locks, light bar, mopar steps... risked pushing the build out, so excluded any bolt on accessories. But I did order carbon and level 2.

That's the million dollar question. The dang message says ZERO inventory for March for TR2 seats, park sense, beadlocks, AND carbon. They pulled LE's weeks ago and STILL have 0 beadlocks and carbon.

Hell they don't have enough inventory to build TR1's for a week if they don't get parts in the next 40 days until March 1st

Unfortunately- I think it might mean we get put to the back of the line again. Ordered hour 1, VIN less than 100. When they skipped over me on 10/28; they built the Canadian LE; built other US LE; reschedule me for 1/18; then took me out of D1 - now back to "scheduling." My fear is that FCA does not have the ability or desire to "re-insert" your build, so they just reschedule you after what they already have scheduled - read March and Q2.

Hmmmm, a Launch Edition 2021 ordered when books opened (most of ours) possibly getting delivered into MY 2022 - that would be just damn nuts!

If they pushed mine then I am just canceling my order. Surely they would be obligated to give the deposit back if they are going to have that long of a delay.

Just heard from my dealer that there’s a shortage on parts for the Level 2 package. Those items are ventilated seats, carbon fiber and bead locks. I know those aren’t all Level 2 but the ventilated seats are. Has anyone heard anything similar from their dealer?

I work in automotive supply chain, the entire supply chain is stressed right now, raw materials, capacity at suppliers, freight, etc

Only a matter of time before it one of the car plants.

Like many of us that ordered early (LE or non-LE), I would be burning if I couldn't receive and drive my new truck until the MY 2022 began. Hoping it doesn't come to that, but these are uncertain times with supply shortages for sure.

I agree. I didn’t agree to pay ADM to be jerked around for 18 months. I want the LE but if I gotta wait till 2022 it’s just not gonna happen. I will get something else for a couple years and circle back (hopefully) when more supply is out there and I can get a better deal.

GM is having no issue pumping out C8s with a near 10x higher demand and a complete retool not shared with any other vehicle. If it makes it better, I should say Ram doesn't know good customer service around their supply chain deficiencies. They issued thousands if VINs last week only to suddenly find out they don't have parts to make a large portion of them?

Sure is a good thing that they built all those trucks for youtube people that completely abuse and trash them for money and forgot about all the customers waiting with deposits on a truck..... I have been buying dodges for a long time but this might make me change if they can't get me a truck..

I have a vin 4532 and a build date of March 22. When there is a build date by definition the supply chain system has determined that there are parts available. I hope it stays that way and they don’t move my firm build date.

So I’m curious I have the email stating they expect my TRX to be at the dealer by March but for some reason I still can’t get a build date. Vin 723 really just wondering if I should move in to something else or if I might be ok I’m level 2 loaded no bead locks. No one seems to be able to get I for On my vin ordered on 8/18. If it’s going to be delayed I will look to replace my current truck with something else before the value drops

umm okay? The C8s had issues but communication wasn't this bad. Actually communication was pretty solid. And that was at the height of covid closures. I'd leave TRX's to you but there aren't any TRXs to leave lol
