So I thought the whole idea of an "allocation" was that they had verified that they have all the parts necessary to build that truck and can proceed with the order... That they had ALLOCATED the parts to build the truck.
I agree. I think though that it is somewhat of an on demand system.... if a sub contractor or vendor has issues then we have issues..So I thought the whole idea of an "allocation" was that they had verified that they have all the parts necessary to build that truck and can proceed with the order... That they had ALLOCATED the parts to build the truck.
Basically the plant has it's own system that the dealers can't see. Your dealer can ONLY see what the plant allows them to within a few weeks of your PROJECTED ship date. That email from FCA was from FCA based on their internal plant schedule that your dealer can't see, hence why they can't tell you anything. So I’m curious I have the email stating they expect my TRX to be at the dealer by March but for some reason I still can’t get a build date. Vin 723 really just wondering if I should move on to something else or if I might be ok I’m level 2 loaded no bead locks. No one seems to be able to get I for On my vin ordered on 8/18. If it’s going to be delayed I will look to replace my current truck with something else before the value drops
Well Ram does have to ask the vendor if they can build the part, vendor says yes, you go into D and wait for your parts to arrive attached to your VIN. Parts arrive, you should go into D1. BUT if the vendor puts a order for materials to build your part and it never arrives then your stuckSo I thought the whole idea of an "allocation" was that they had verified that they have all the parts necessary to build that truck and can proceed with the order... That they had ALLOCATED the parts to build the truck.
Exact same boat here.So I’m curious I have the email stating they expect my TRX to be at the dealer by March but for some reason I still can’t get a build date. I'm still waiting...Here comes the grown men bitching again...
Snowflakes will be snowflakes I guess
I’m curious to see how Ford does with the bronco roll out. I heard they are delayed again and are not expecting delivers before summer, but have not followed them near as closely. I was thinking I’d be late to the party and get one towards the end of 2021. That is seeming too early unless I order now.I hate Ford but they are being very proactive with my wife's Bronco order. Multiple emails about allocation, late availability and possible delayed production and TODAY was the 1st day orders could be inputted. They even sent her a very nice Bronco tool bag, two coffee mugs, and a leather key chain.
Have parts on the new bronco, too, and that’s even experiencing some delays. Thankfully not because of me!I’m curious to see how Ford does with the bronco roll out. While the interest level is not the same, I can confirm supply chain issues across the brands when it comes to ordering fleet work trucks. It’s been a heck of a year.
Not the same industry, but I have a critical part for a medical product that had a supplier inform us they could’t supply anymore and for and finding a replacement was, well not easy. Now having to use a part with a different plastic blend, which means new testing before release and ultimately. No product for 5 months. We are still trying to understand timeframe for ourselves let alone customers. So, yeah I can see how shit happens right now. Sucks, but is what it is. I also see why folks who ordered LEs are frustrated that all those short supply parts were used up on black trucks.I can assure everyone here that FCA has armies of tactical supply chain people working around the clock to feed this factory (and others) with parts, particularly a product that is most likely high margin. However, even they can’t solve lack of containers, port capacity, raw material, and rail and freight availability. Steel is even in short supply now. Easy for industry outsiders to not understand, but that’s the reality. We supply multiple heavy truck and automotive component manufacturers and various other industries with high volume, supply chain is the worst I’ve ever seen. A prime example on a smaller scale: ordered an iPad almost 3 weeks ago, and even Apple couldn’t tell me when I’d get it. It shows up tomorrow.
I haven't been notified of anything from Ford or my dealership other than I would be able to order a Bronco soon.I hate Ford but they are being very proactive with my wife's Bronco order. I get where your coming from but this is more FCA's fault as a company rather than its vendors. GM informed people of delays, Ford delayed releasing the Bronco, Rivian pushed deliveries. Ram has played shadow games ever since Oct. Covid happened in March, not August, parts shortages didn't happen today, they happened a loooonnnnngggg time ago. Parts shortages have been going on well before the email in December promising Q1 delivery dates. Rumors of shortages have been around since Oct. This is a lack of common sense not just supply. This FCA, FAILURE to COMMUNICATE ANYTHING. People have to find out about this thru leaks, barely anyone would have any idea when their truck would ever come if it wasn't NON-employees Triple and KnightMare. Parts shortages are a part but communication is the bigger problem with FCA as a company. Not the dealers, not the suppliers, the main company.I can assure everyone here that FCA has armies of tactical supply chain people working around the clock to feed this factory (and others) with parts, particularly a product that is most likely high margin. Interesting, when I asked my sales rep today if he followed any of the TRX forums, he said no as he was told that other dealers sales reps were chastized about following forums and using it for info. Sounds like FCA doesnt want non FCA approved info getting out... which is none..I get where your coming from but this is more FCA's fault as a company rather than its vendors. Why would you make 100's of media test mules with high options that you are in shortage of? There is no reason for maybe a few mules to run around with beadlocks and carbon if everyone is having a shortage for MONTHS. I've seen reviews where they'll say a certain system or things doesn't work because it is a pre production model. Could of made a bunch of black base or TR1 mules to save the the 2 tones, beadlocks, parking sensors, and TR2 seats for production. Could of made 5 TR2 mules, have all the journalist test it over a weekend, and embargo the videos, done.
I'm trying to dig up info on why there is a constraint on doing 2 tone paint. If it's such a problem, why not offer a 2 tone delete package like the rebel? Or make it a dang sticker pack. And if you know you have a parts shortage in March, why the heck would you ramp up production? If they stayed making 30 TRX's a day, they would have at least till April for parts to get caught up, not run 50+ for a week and potentially run out in 30 days? Now we understand why they cut LE production and made only black trucks. Why they started skipping all the way to October orders.
Hell I know more about your build then your dealer... What does that say about the company lolInteresting, when I asked my sales rep today if he followed any of the TRX forums, he said no as he was told that other dealers sales reps were chastized about following forums and using it for info.
