Road to 1000whp - Dynos included

Really? Here's the problem with forums...no one knows who anyone is. You know how many haters hide behind screen names? This is a joke right? Anyone with a complaint got their pulley replaced on our dime, some members didn't even return the origional pulley. I take this personal because when people had an issue I handled it....here's the crazy part. A strong majority of the issues were with their install....and guess what? We still sent them a new pulley. Anyone ever come on here and tell you that? No people rarely post when they are happy. We have tens of thousands of happy cusyomers. You guys like to say "look how they talk to customers" guess what the people catching shade aren't even customers and when someone is ignorantly arrogant and hating because someone told them to, that's that kind of person i don't want as a customer.
Thanks for proving my point, once again.

Why are you on here attacking him ? Is this how you talk to your customers ?

I would think that someone representing a business would use more of an informative response to posts rather than a combative response.
Agree...really uncalled for response, but I did get a large laugh out of the "stop it" comment...lol. There are better ways to relay your thoughts, particularly someone that owns a business and is trying to get business from potential customers; this is a perfect example of how NOT to do it. Funnier even...10mpg stated that hub dynos are the most accurate, but most people don't have access to it...never said it was inaccurate, but stated you can't compare the two trucks.

Yeah...someone got triggered reading too far into something that wasn't there. Keyboard Warrior to the rescue!!!

weird….every person I’ve spoke to says a Mustang dyno gives lower numbers than a dynojet.

Not 300 horsepower lower.
I never said it did. All I know is comparing dynos of different types (roller vs hub or rear wheel drive vs AWD for example) ran by different people on different days with different weather conditions is what it is. Which is a good estimate but it’s not apples to apples. That was my only point. And I thought 10mpg was just saying the same but maybe I was wrong….dunno. I’ve read just how well they are tied down or the difference in tire compound or size can make a huge difference. I I frankly don’t recall reading anyone talking about this 300hp difference. I could have missed it and I have no interest to read back through this thread.

Congrats to you guys who have done these big builds. I am jealous. I’ll be thrilled just to pulley and tune my truck and squeeze 850hp or so (at the crank). I’d love to make more hp but too spendy for me and access to E85 is not convenient enough for me.

They fit with a little effort
All this dick wagging on dynos and all I want to know is how much did you shave on your calipers to fit 17’s…

Send pics…

Just wanted to post where I'm at currently - I finally picked up my truck up yesterday after having it in the shop for the past 5ish weeks as it underwent major surgery for the first round of modifications.

Mods:
Ported blower
Kong 108mm throttle body
Metco 2.85 pulley / HD Green Belt
Custom grind cams (Comp)
ARH Headers / Midpipe (with high flow GSport 850 cats)
Magnaflow XMOD Catback
ID1050 injectors
Tune via HP Tuners (ECU/TCM - changed redline to 6500RPM)
+all the supporting mods required to make this thing work

All in all - we're looking at essentially 11k in parts and 5k in labor - and a lot of that was between the XMOD exhaust (which was severely overpriced) and the ARH headers/mid pipe were $2600 combined - most of these gains can be achieved for less, but I also wanted the truck to be loud as hell so I consider it worth the cost (or at least that's what I tell myself) :ROFLMAO:

The beauty of this is that we've made over 160whp from baseline (597whp/568tq) and we're only running 14psi, as we lost approx 1-1.5lbs of boost from adding the headers, so there is still plenty of headroom here. The next steps are moving to a 2.65 or 2.5 pulley and a better intake system (either waiting for the aFe or having one fabricated) - I believe ~800whp is not out of the question for a stock blower setup on 93 oct. This is my DD so E85 was a no-go for me.

I only got the truck back yesterday so I have not had time yet to track it and see what times I'm running but that will be forthcoming - I'll update this thread and add some videos ASAP.
What is your mpg?

Thanks Bro,
The only problem Iam having is smelling radiator fluid. It's coming through the vents and I don't smell it in the engine bay, it's so weird.
The fluid is also at level. It's most prominent when the heat is on.
Since you have taken your truck apart literally and been on here for a while any ideas?
I took it back to the dealer I purchased it new from, also out of town and they said a pressure test was done and they did find anything. Hummm
Thanks @10mpg
I am having this same exact issue. No visible leaks anywhere. Mark both engine and IC coolant, no drop. But when I turn the heater on, strong coolant smell. In fact, the windshield will fog up. I am pretty sure its heater core leak.

That is what happened to my truck last year. While driving, I got an abrupt smell of coolant and then my windshield started to fog. At that point I had no heat coming out of the vents. I suggest you get it fixed ASAP. I had coolant pour out of all the floor vents, soaked the carpet of my truck, and drip out of my door jams. If you have to add coolant, only add as little as needed or else you'll see more pouring out of the vents.

It took awhile for the smell to go away. Once fixed, run your heater at max to try burn off as much as you can. I'm now finally seeing pink, dried up flakes of coolant flying out of my vents a year later.

If I recall the cost totalled to around $2500. The dash needs to come out and AC refrigerant extracted. The coolant broke an HVAC actuator so they had to replace the airbox and took a second dealer trip.
