Ram TRX returns Q1 2026

Adding a durango is looking better and better. Rather than spending 50k upgrading trx for slightly better trx. You got yourself a good sleeper with a gt badge once you put a whipple on it lol. Did you get a tow and go?
This is my third Durango. Started with ordering a '23 Hellcat, but didn't like it (couldn't order the base version at the time) so took it back to the dealer after three months, still with the same 18 miles on it, plastic on the seats, etc. Yep, never drove it.

Looked at used cop cars, which were available with a V8 and AWD, but didn't like all the idle hours on those, and a little over a year ago I bought a regular used '19 GT Plus AWD. Liked almost everything about it, a lot, but the while the V6 works just fine in the lighter and more aero friendly Challenger here at altitude, it was not quite enough for a Durango.

Needless to say, when finding out that a 5.7 Durango with AWD would be available for '26 I ordered one the first day the banks opened. No reason to add any more power to this $40K beater car, it runs just fine as is. Obviously not like the 6.2 Challenger, but that one's not an all-season beater.

And I didn't want to Tow and Go option. It would've resulted in lower gearing as I recall. Besides, no way would I tow with it. That's what the Ram 3500 and Pete are for.

I don't think you'd regret getting a 5.7 Durango.

A lot of risks in doing this if you will be driving it a lot in the state it's "illegal".
No not really, I had cars registered/plated in AZ for about 6 years after we moved to MN to avoid the bullshit tint laws and confiscatory tax regime.

Just left the dealer yesterday after getting new tires for the truck and was asking about the new TRX that I thought ram said they were releasing but the guy I don’t know if he was trying to be Koi but he wasn’t giving me any information and I was telling him like I’m there getting my current TRX serviced. I love the truck and that like if you are coming out with one I will put a deposit down is what I was getting at and he didn’t seem very confident with other than the fact that he told me all they know right now is that there is an indefinite hold on the hybrids and everything is going back towards the V8. I hope so badly they put the redeye engine in there.
Dealer generally speaking do not know anything….. majority of people on this forum have a plethora more info than the dealer.

By the time a dealer gets the info it has already been leaked online and Released

state by state there are different nuances.

I don’t know all the state laws and state specific rules but I do know that in general, it’s a no go.

There will always be this person who knows a person who has some obscure loop hole.

if you are in a CARB state, expect the enforcement is as strict as California.

The “used” moniker for >7500 miles does work, but then you’re not buying a new TRX.

What you won’t be able to do in a CARB state, in general, is have a brand new 2026 TRX if you are the average person just looking for a new vehicle.

Excepting California, what are you basing that statement on?

I never even questioned the ability to buy out of state and then register here in a CARB state, but all this hysteria made me check with the MVD headquarters. Sure enough, no problem. So at least here, where the sky is generally blue, it is not falling yet.

That leaves 15 states where I don't know what the deal would be, and somewhat selfishly I won't contact the authorities in those states and find out since it doesn't affect me. But those who live in a CARB state and wants a '26 TRX can obviously find out for themselves.

well, thankfully, my daughter lives in Indiana. It looks like she's gonna be buying a new TRX and I'm gonna have to fly out and borrow it and bring it back to California.

Without having to read all 22 pages on this thread…can someone update me if there really is going to be a 2026 TRX, and if so, when? tia

Yes and some point in 2026. It was stated Q1 but that may seem unlikely. No pricing yet either.

Any word on the tech, is it published anywhere? Similar to RHO possibly? My cursory internet slouthness is not providing results.

I heard a video yesterday say that some of the carb states would no longer have a restriction on purchasing the higher hp vehicles. I don't know what to believe anymore there's too much nonsense. Hopefully there is some truth to it 🤞.

But...but...wouldn't that mean that all the hysteria was wasted?

Somebody, please (hello, You Tube!!) release a video claiming that that the TRXs will only be available in three states, and pricing starts at $145K.

That should be enough to stir up the fear again.

add:
Massage seats
Android Auto full screen (Still waiting for the fix...it was just around the corner when I was driving off the lot ~2 1/2 years ago)
factory 37" tires on 17" all black bead lock capable wheels.
Parking mode... vehicles drops 3 inches to crawl into lower garages.

1) security issues
2) radiator issues

what else?
Software bugs
Software bugs
Software bugs

Presuming these are going to be more expensive there are going to be a lot of pissed off people when they start up their new truck and see RHO graphics.
