Ram TRX returns Q1 2026

I used to live in California, and I know for sure it is a hassle to register vehicles in California.
I bought a brand new BMW M2 back in 2021 from a dealership in Mississippi, and I still had to do emission test to register in California just because I bought it out of state.
So, I don't know about other states but if they are going to restrict the sale of TRX in California, you won't be able to register it even if you buy it out of state.
Best advice is... move out of California lol
Just don't move to Texas.... NOT LOL

I mean is no different than deleting your diesel and registering it in Havasu or Prescott, or up in flag for AZ users.
Nice. The issue is that a lot of places now will not let you have your registered out of state. And if you don’t have the title then most lenders also won’t let you register out of state. If you own it free and clear then you can bypass that issue. But for instance, here in AZ you have like 10 days to register your car here after moving.
AZ is an oddity , at least with emissions.

Bottom line.

No CARB number….As I understand the rules… Not able to purchase, register or drive the vehicle in the participating states. You can’t buy it in a neighboring state and import it. Dealerships can’t buy or sell them either.
It is indeed true that dealers here can't order these vehicles, a friend inquired about a Durango so that's confirmed.

But, a phone call to the MVD this morning confirmed what I suspected; I can indeed buy a TRX from out of state and register it here. Show up with the MSO and sales contract, pay the registration and taxes...done.

Not saying that it works that way in other states, and California is definitely a different thing, but these doomsday predictions thankfully don't apply to me.

Wild to me that they are talking about shipping in Q1 26' but haven't started taking orders yet. That said, I don't know a damn thing about how all that works or typical release schedules/timelines.

Called a dealership yesterday and they said shipping Q1 but not sure if that is true.

Shipping q1, when do the order banks open and most importantly what’s the price? Hard to get out of a 21 or 22 for $70k-$73k msrp when these will be at least $100k-$120k+.

you wont get the MSO by just asking. Dealers wont do it. Granger used to til it got fined for people flipping them without registering it. Dealer would want to register it for you and they wont be able to because they are not allowed by Stellantis to sell TRX in certain states

I don't even have to ask. My dealer knows that I prefer taking care of the registrations myself. Been that way with at least 15 vehicles by now, and I don't see why it would stop.

Which reminds me...I bought a Dodge earlier this month. Should probably check that the MSO is in the envelope with the rest of the paperwork.

Either way, even if letting the dealer do the registration, the TRX will be bought out of state, which is fine with Stellantis, who won't know what state it it'll be registered in.

Purchase and register I will believe but surely you are able to drive a non-CARB vehicle in CARB participating states. Not like they have check points at the borders and they turn away people on road trips if they don’t like their vehicle.

This is reminding me of a President who said "We choose truth over facts."

Except in this case it seems to be You Tube over facts.

Best decision you ever made, not getting an rho. It’s a cool truck but comparatively to a TRX it’s 2nd place by a long shot. The exhaust note alone, bmw sounding, is a no for me.

I love my trx so much. I'm so use to the sound now as well I think nothing else would do at this point. For basically only 4k more than the rho I found my 22 with 18k miles on it. Very happy how it all turned out though.

I got ahold of a document that lists out the next 3 years product releases from the 392 Wrangler to of course our beloved Ram TRX. If you look at the snippet below, based on the wording, I believe they'll put the same 6.2L Supercharged Hemi it. Not to say there won't be a Redeye option later but for now things are moving so fast, they just need to get their halo truck back in the market.

Based on the dealer email that leaked a couple months ago, the TRX was hinted to come back with more power. One option I believe they'll do is use the DC Hellcat Stage 1 kit with would bump the HP up to 757 (More than likely 752 because of the intake hp loss). That would give the TRX more power and beat out the Raptor R's 720hp

Just left the dealer yesterday after getting new tires for the truck and was asking about the new TRX that I thought ram said they were releasing but the guy I don’t know if he was trying to be Koi but he wasn’t giving me any information and I was telling him like I’m there getting my current TRX serviced. I love the truck and that like if you are coming out with one I will put a deposit down is what I was getting at and he didn’t seem very confident with other than the fact that he told me all they know right now is that there is an indefinite hold on the hybrids and everything is going back towards the V8. I hope so badly they put the redeye engine in there.

At this point one question becomes do you keep building your truck or stop and prepare for the next gen.

Choices, choices....
No personally what I’m gonna do is, I’m gonna keep this TRX and if this truck ends up becoming a staple in the lineup, I’m gonna see if I can get every generation LOL also for anybody out there that is looking for a good tune I live in Chicago and there’s an HP tuners here. I believe those are the same guys that Oscar Piastri’s family owns from F1 and they are absolutely phenomenal with getting power to these trucks.

Is this your dealer?

Having ordered a '26 Durango, what I gave up was getting AWD instead of 2WD and getting a V8 instead of a V6, for less money.

If the '26 TRX comes with less tech and fluff, but the same power, I'll be fine with that.
Adding a durango is looking better and better. Rather than spending 50k upgrading trx for slightly better trx. You got yourself a good sleeper with a gt badge once you put a whipple on it lol. Did you get a tow and go?
