Pwr oil cooler

I see that the cooler is again available on PWR's site. Does this mean we're clear to hit them with some orders? 😁

Im going to do an install part of the thread gimme a few mins

Also. They are going to use a stock size drain plug I heard so don’t get focused on the small blue one on my cooler

Step 1: remove skids like for an oil change

Drain oil. Keep oil pan under the oil cooler

Pull back the plastic retaining ring covers.

Use a pic or a non marring pic to remove the retaining clips. Don’t break or loose. They are the common part, can be found on Amazon etc, but better to remove and reuse.

Pull oil hard lines out from the oil cooler. They will drain more oil. About 1.5 qts

Slide lower bracket off. You will need to flex the plastic a little. Don’t worry, it’s got tons of flexibility.

Remove cooler and finish draining

Swap the orb fittings from oem cooler to pwr cooler. Don’t damage the o-rings.

I used aluminum clamp in my vice to hold the cooler and a -a wrench. I think it’s -14

Don’t clamp too hard. It’s aluminum.

Install is reverse.
Make sure you the retaining clips are seated correctly. There are 3 points on the clips. Then cover clips with plastic covers.

Hardest part is reinstalling the 13mm bolts at the top if you have fat hands

Tools I used.

Also, if you’re not doing an oil change. Refill the amount of oil that drained out of the cooler fill line the whole time. About 1-1.5 qts

I’ve had it for a little while now.

My review: yes. Worth it. The factory cooler sucks and this cooler is a higher quality core and more efficient. More than noticeable oil temp reduction while also allowing the temps to get above water boiling point to cook off humidity water.

Geez, I just checked, people have ordered so many its already on back order.

Hopefully this means s/c coolant heat exchanger in the near future and radiator!

I just got the invoice and FedEx tracking # for mine on Wednesday. So far FedEx says they haven't received the package yet though, so not sure when it will show up.

Took another drive today where I actually paid attention to the temps. Engine coolant and trans temps got over 200 and engine oil maxed at 190
granted it was like 60 degrees. so cool out.

But this thing works

Received my unit back in February but decided to wait for an oil change to install it. Finally did it this past weekend. I thought the hardest part would be those retaining clips, but nope, as you hinted at in your instructions, it was getting a tiny socket onto those 13mm bolts.

It took about 1 quart of extra oil compared to normal, as you mentioned. Only took it for a short test drive (Mondays are my usual work-from-home day), but so far, no leaks. Will post temps when I have 'em.

Sorry for the limited response. I’m still here.

wragth worked with xineering to get the plugs so no more warning lights for the suspension.

My truck would get the engine oil so hot just driving on the freeway at 55 mph…

So this plug and play cooler is only going to help!!
Did these plugs for the suspension ever happen?
