Power Running Boards

Haven't had the truck since the day after pick up....getting ppf'd/ceramic. Hope to have back today and will reset the uconn to see if there and circle back.
See you might be in Dallas? Me to. Mind sharing the dealer info you got them installed at as well as the ppf info. I’d appreciate going to a dealer that knows what they are doing when mine gets here.

Hey...correct....Frisco. I actually ordered from Bluebonnet down in New Braunfels and they installed during my 4 hr trip I drove down to p/u. Was going to flatbed it here but decided to trade in my Denali. Dear law school friend bought the Hellcat at Grapevine Dodge and said that's the only place he'd let touch his car.....true gearhead. So I'll be going there next week to have them flash the UCONN for them to show up on the screen. I got them installed at the dealer as then they'd come under the truck warranty so keep that in mind. As for the PPF...just picked it up yesterday w/ full PPF....ceramic and ceramic tint. I've used XPEL in Dallas off of Lemon by the BMW dealership for both my 2019 Z06 and 2020 M5 Competition......they're good.

Can you tell us what was your total cost from the dealer for the steps and install
Don't have it in front of me but was approximately $1,900 installed... I didn't beat them up on it as I have a long term relationship with them and they gave me an early allocation with no ADM..

Sounds about right. I was quoted $1525 for the boards and a 2 1/2 hour job. I don’t know what they charge per hour but $1900 total should be the upper limit.

So I don’t know where you guys are with figuring out how to make the mopar ones compatible with the touchscreen, but my local service guys are telling me that they can make one of the aux switches into a kill switch. As in not a switch to manually deploy and retract them, but a switch to stop them from deploying in an off-road type emergency.

I'm glad that will work. Definitely important to have the kill switch.

YES! That’s my plan exactly. That Touch screen is busy enough. How busy?? (Busy as a one arm bricklayer)😆

That’s unfortunate. I have been in IT all my life and I am confident it’s just a check box in the system to tell the system that option is installed. It would be different if this was the first time the Ram electric steps were installed on a Ram truck. The option works on other trucks so we need someone dealing with this to help everyone understand how to get the system to see the option installed.

both ppf and ceramic atop that...and paint protection and tint was 8k.

I just called the dealer, and the part number has changed too Part#82215287AC.

Jesus!! 8k that's crazy
for 8k I think I can have the entire truck painted🤪.
i think most I will pay for paint correction and protection is no more than $2500-$3500

what area do you live in? silicon valley? sorry for all the questions but my appointment for the correction/protection is next week. if this is a normal price I won't be doing any protection ill just wait until the truck is scuffed up then just have it repainted.

Thank you for the video. I looked for an hour and couldn’t find them. That’s Way nicer than a wired switch.

Yeah, normally I’d put these on, but the control is a nice feature. You can also drag the deploy button to the lower menu bar so its there all the time.
