I'll ping the dealer again for the parts etc and post those today.Following this as if we can use OEM stuff so the button shows up...that's definitely the route I want to take. @smlaw the more info you can give us the better (please). I would install these myself as I am assuming they can't be all that hard to install, and it would be nice to know what parts to order as well as where to plug stuff in (the 2nd part may be more difficult since you had the dealership do the work...but anything is better than nothing)
me 2!following
Thanks TripleB, That probably is a crucial step that the dealer has to make. I am planning on doing the same if and when I get my truck. I am hoping my dealer will take the factory installed running boards and credit me the difference. I knowMy Mopar steps will be in tomorrow, so I haven't finished this YET but fully expect them to work.
When my dealer entered my VIN in the parts system it showed the power steps as an available accessory so I ordered them and will be in tomorrow. Unfortunately, the truck is going in for paint correction and coating and I was told they expected it to be 3-4 days before I get it back. I will install the steps once I get it back and can give feedback at that point. The mounting points are definitely already on the truck, compared them to the limited with the steps that was on the lot.
The second page of the step instructions explains that the dealer can add thee accessory to your VIN in dealer connect and then the UConnect system should update its features during the next sync. I will confirm all this works as expected as soon as I have finished the install, but right now it seems pretty straight forward.

Just spoke to dealer Trip....saying they'll have to 'flash' it after the code enters and Uconn won't pick it up until then. I'll swing by the dealer too to have them flash it..I thought that meant me getting the USB and updating latest sftware to the usb drive in the center console but nope there is a reader below the steering column they take the ipad device to. So don't leave w/o them doing that. I'll try it too later today I hope.My Mopar steps will be in tomorrow, so I haven't finished this YET but fully expect them to work.

How much did they charge you for the total job?I'm still out of town, but my dealer just sent me this video. Still waiting to hear if it is showing in the Uconnect system. He said, "I believe so," but haven't gotten confirmation.

They charged me around $1,900 including labor, but they also bought my stock steps back for $800, so Net of $1,100. Well worth it to me. I wish it was an option from the factory. If I had known the power boards would work, I wouldn't have gotten the boards on my build. There were just so many "unknowns' on Aug 18, and I didn't want to wait a year before someone had power steps available. How much did they charge you for the total job?
Here's a link to the installation instructions for the OEM boards. Unfortunately, they apparently don't believe in alpha-numerics, so you have to resort to deciphering caveman-style pictograms. Probably the same reason why McDonalds replaced their registers' keypads with pictures of foodI would install these myself as I am assuming they can't be all that hard to install, and it would be nice to know what parts to order as well as where to plug stuff in (the 2nd part may be more difficult since you had the dealership do the work...but anything is better than nothing)
Is this the right part number?I'm still out of town, but my dealer just sent me this video. Still waiting to hear if it is showing in the Uconnect system. He said, "I believe so," but haven't gotten confirmation.

I like these. That's my truck in the YT post...they're RAM OEMs and they're working flawlessly since pick up last Thursday.
I think there are online parts cites that sell them for 1295 ish... vs 1500ish from dealer plus install.I thought the AMP's wouldn't fit with the rear wheel travel?
Guys.... Do you have to buy the Mopar power steps from a Ram dealer? I assumed so.
