Please listen to video

Hearing a chirping noice from under the truck. Please listen to video and let me know if I need to take it into the shop
I've been reading the manual a bit, in anticipation. I seem to recall a section about the engine, that said that the hemi motors may tick a bit like what I'm hearing in your video under certain conditions. You might take a look in there. Also, calling the dealer probably wouldn't be a bad idea.

He is sitting in the dealership now. as the service department inspects his TRX.

So they just sent me home and it’s not fixed. They’re pretty sure it’s the exhaust but they’ve never seen this truck before so they’re nervous about pulling shit off it. They’re sending the video to a “star” level tech and waiting for Ram to get back to them

Well that’s a relief... at least you not having to pull the engine or anything major.

Oh Dang! Let her cool off. Then put on some gloves, and run your you hand around the manifolds, and connection points. Use the remote start or have wife/buddy start truck for you. Of course wait till truck has plenty of time to cool off. Take a vid under truck, also one with hood popped.

If it is truly just a leak, finding it and snugging it to seal it up should fix it. Of course it cold be a header gasket that was installed incorrectly, and just snugging it up most likely wouldn't fix it. It would need a new gasket.

I understand that new models have new issues, but I just dropped 90k on a awesome truck that’s also a squeak toy
And they only “pretty sure” what’s wrong. It’s disappointing

Also, Don't be afraid to try another dealer.

I understand your frustration. I am sure they will find and fix the issue. Did they hook you up in a nice loaner? Are you in the burbs of Philly? Just curious.

No they sent me home in my truck.
They’re the biggest Dodge Ram dealer on the east coast
Reedmans

hemi tick is obvious.
this not so much...

i remember driving around my 2016 hellcat complaining about the supercharger issues they were having(an idle speed whine)...
i complained, i dwelled, i searched low and high on every forum... and i drove that thing 30k miles or so problem free.(except for that pesky squeal)

i came across 100 videos on my phone from the 2 years of ownership...hood open, on my dash, under the car, revving.... all looking for a sound the dealer wanted to ignore but was heavily admitted at Dodge... dont dwell

DRIVE IT AND ENJOY THAT BEAUTIFUL WARRANTY.
i really want to feel like lifter/valve and cam issues have been sorted here... unless they set it up for low end HD grunt for the first time.

Please check the engine for any oil leaks.. maybe its a loose hose? it doesnt feel like exhaust to me, unless its a manifold stud

He said that “the noise is coming from the exhaust but it’s resonating throughout the exhaust so it’s hard to pinpoint”
Not sure what a Star Service Tech is, but the service manager felt confident that the Star guy would be able to figure it out. But I honestly felt like I was asking my 6 year old a trig question. Just a blank stare with no real answers

I've seen many Youtube videos people reviewing the RAM TRX, and i did noticed that on many! same exact friction noise, could be from the belt ?

The noise could be all the way up to the valves, it may sound like it's coming from the exhaust but it's being conducted down the pipe. I agree let it cool off and get down under it and start it up, and take a good video under there, use some lights. You can even use some dawn down on joints and what not, soap em up and see if you see a leak. It sounds like chattering to me, and I never would have guessed the exhaust pipes themselves, but that chattering does sound like metal.

If you had to guess, what do you think it is?

If I had to guess...these parts here, either side, most likely on the exhaust valves, lifters. And it could simply be lack of lubrication making it up there. Check your oil levels. Check your oil pressure, rev that engine and watch if it increases...it should go up a little but if there is obstruction it would really go up on revs. Again, I'm no expert...and certainly less of one on such a sophisticated engine as this. My experience comes mostly from Vortec engines.

Ok so oil level looks good but the pressure jumps from 69-70 psi to almost 80psi when I rev it. Not sure it that’s significant.
Cold start idle is definitely loud again.
