Official Driveline Clunk Service Repair

Even worse is that the drive line is on back order with no real ETA. So you end up waiting three+ months for the unit and then you get 3k miles before the return of the clunk.
I wish, didn't get but a month with the tsb grease deal....

I got a little more info on that driveshaft. The company that makes it is East Coast Driveline (link posted). There are three drive shafts available. Two in carbon fiber for just over 2100 and 2300 with different performance specs and there is an Aluminum option for about $1600.00. They do not supply the flanges so you will either buy it without them or you can send them yours to be put on. The slip shaft is Aluminum on Aluminum rather than the OEM which is Aluminum on Steel. They stated this resolved the issues with the driveline.
We all know that a new shaft or grease resolves the issue for about 3k miles so I asked the guy if he could reach out to a couple TRX customers to see how they are doing past the 3k mile mark. He took my email so I hope to hear back soon. But this seems like it might be a viable option
I spoke to eastcoast driveline and I'm about to order one. If anyone else has their driveshaft please PM me and let me know how you like it and how many miles you have on it. I will also chime in soon as I get mine. They are actively making these to fill orders and each order when received ships 2-3 weeks from payment. They recommend sending your factory end flanges to them so they can mount them and spin the shaft up with it fully built to validate balance. Guy gave me a warm fuzzy that their team knows their stuff. They supply new U-joints so you don't need to send those. I plan on overnighting my flanges once he calls me and lets me know he's ready for them to minimize downtime. They ship the shaft 2 day UPS for around $45. So not bad on shipping. The only reason you have to send your factory flanges is that dodge has yet to make them for sale individually and they are pretty unique in design with the serrated flange faces so the mounting bolts aren't the only thing holding the power.

P. S. @RamCares please help the TRX community by pushing for a real solution to this clunk in the factory shaft so we don't have to spend $2000 ourselves to do so.

GREATTTTT, I had my dealer grease my drive shaft once already and also only lasted about 1.5 months. I just brought it back in and the dealer expressed to me that they will order a new drive shaft for me, BUT he expressed that he does not feel it will truly fix the issue as it is just something that is going to keep happening. So, this sucks because like everyone has been saying, once you notice it, it is hard to not think about it every darn time you take off from a stop.

I just got the reply from East Coast Driveline. They contacted some customers that have reached 5000 miles in both the Carbon fiber and Aluminum. Here is the Quote.
"He said that his customers have currently done about 5k miles with both and the shafts are holding up nicely. No issues with vibration and no noise coming out of our new style slip sleeve."
This looks like a worthwhile option.

The Aluminum option is $1,500 and if it truly fixes the issue and no more "clunk" then it sucks how RAM won't pony up and get these drive shafts so it can fix our trucks. I mean it not enough that we spent anywhere from $90k-$130k for a truck, we have to deal with a clunk and RAM says, "it is what it is"?

My dealer has ordered a driveshaft for me as well with no idea when it will arrive. Like you, my dealer is confident the driveshaft will NOT fix the problem long term. Not sure why Ram keeps insisting it will when many have had it replaced and the clunk still returns. I will be interested to see if any of the aftermarket driveshafts that claim to stop the clunk will work long term.

But interestingly Ram is saying the clunk is not normal operation, yet they have not offered a true fix. If Ram was saying the clunk is normal they would not authorize lube kits and replacement driveshafts under warranty.

Exactly, now they want another diagnosis before they pursue further, bullshit!

The fancy TSB Lube Job has been completed, and the truck is currently Clunk Free. I've got just over 23,000 miles on the truck as it stands. I'll be curious to see how long I go before the clunk returns?
I had mine done last December. It's coming back little by little. They did the grease kit and a firmware update.

@RamCares are they coming out with a true fix for this? If not how do I get my drive shaft replaced with the newer one.

For me RamCares pushed the issue with my dealer and opened a case on my issue. They have been quite helpful and engaged in the process. RamCares plainly stated to me that Ram engineering says this is not normal operation.

You may want to send a direct message to @RamCares so they can open a case file for you.

This was their response. Trucks VIN is for an early 21. Fix in June was for the new springs to make it level. 12/15/22 was the grease/boot kit install date. They don't even have the dates right.

"Thank you for taking the time reaching out to our team directly. Looking at your VIN, we did see that you had a dealer visit back in June for the clunk noise concern. The bulletin listed below is the only bulletin we have available at the moment. We recommend having the dealer diagnose your vehicle again, just to see if there are any damages to the boot, if it is, it should be replaced per the bulletin.

03-004-22 REV. B Rear Propshaft Clunk

So basically take it back to dealer, wait for weeks for them to put the 10 month fix on it again while driving a POS loaner.

I did have to take my truck back in for them to look at it again. That's when they ordered the driveshaft although it hasn't come in yet. I have been dealing with the Service Director at my dealership who does not believe this will fix it but has been communicating directly with Ram over the issue and ordered the driveshaft at Rams direction.

Ram initially told my dealer that my truck must have been run very hard and that contributed to the problem. That is absolutely ridiculous as my truck has never been off road and frankly I baby it 99% of the time. (my wife even teases me about driving it too easy). This unfounded false accusation really pissed me off as it shows me that Ram is looking to place blame anywhere they can except where it belongs, on them. I have little doubt that Ram knows exactly what the problem is and what the appropriate fix would be but they are clearly avoiding addressing this widespread issue. I'm sure it boils down to 💰. I am extremely satisfied with my truck and overall this is only a minor annoyance to me but Ram should make this right.

I'm thinking they are just going to wait out 36k miles so they don't have to fix it.

I am wondering what it takes to get a recall on all the trucks. That might be the only real fix. Hit them in the pocket book.

There will never be a recall for this. Recalls are safety related only. Just so we are all clear. Ram does not have to do anything about this. This issue does not effect the operation of the vehicle. Even though today they claim it is not normal operation tomorrow they could claim it is and be done with the whole issue. The best we can hope for is an RRT/TSB done under warranty. They can RRT/TSB not under warranty and have us foot the bill. Ramcares may appear like they are trying to help. And the agents may truly feel like they are helping. But Rams silence is disturbing me a little. They could alleviate much of our stress if they made a statement about this. Something to the effect of. "We know this is a continued issue and we are going to solve it for you. We just need a little time to engineer and implement the best solution." @RamCares that is the message you need to move up the chain at this point.

Recall or not ,would think that if you have complained or had the grease tsb done that they would come to realization something ain't right and fix it no matter the mileage.

Had a new driveline installed and 6,000ish miles the clunk came back. Had the magic lube job less than 1,000 miles ago done, and the clunk is just starting to be noticeable again. I’d love to see a fix by Ram, but I have a hunch it’s never going to happen.

Well, I just picked up my 2022 today from the dealer here in West Valley City. It had the "clunk" going on now for a while, it has 26,000 miles on it. It's been in once for the clunk already and brought in several times for the black screen issue. I expected the usual, but they surprised me by ordering a new driveline for it. it should be here in 2 weeks; we will see how long it takes to get here.
As far as the screen and weird USB hub overload warnings I've been getting they said it was fixed but I'm remaining skeptical, it has been ongoing since about a month after I got it.
Just an observation but has anyone else noticed that the clunk doesn't happen when pulling a trailer?

The clunk does happen pulling a trailer, well atleast on my truck. Mine is going in soon for the bandaid boot/grease kit. Another bump for @RamCares To escalate this up the chain for a proper permanent fix.
