New screen with update?

Please see pages 1-47 of this thread for your answers. There's also another thread on the same topic with 30 pages.
I think they were asking about the display differences between a Final Edition TRX and the rest of the peasant edition TRXs prior to the UConnect issues.

Ok, so new to this game and have a Final Edition too but since I just got mine I have no idea what display for the FE is different from the others, or at least supposed to be different. Can someone tell me what the differences are supposed to be with the display?

It's truly amazing to me that this SW isn't fixed. I test SW for a living and this type of thing getting into the wild and effecting the high end customers should never happen, and when it does it should be a priority! However, fixes don't drive revenue, we already bought the trucks...

The FE's have a special splash screen in the EVIC, that's it as far as electronics go. As far as I know, the software updates haven't had any effect on those.

"@ramcsres are you even aware that the 21s had Uconnect 4 the 22 had Uconnect 5 but without digital gauges, 2003 and 2004 had digital gauges, not to mention the final Edition and all the other special editions had unique graphics,"

Got it, only a splash screen. I don't have anything to compare it to so... Thanks

Just got this update when I pulled into the garage. Took about 15 minutes to load. Not sure what it's for, but my traffic wasn't displaying all day, then it magically appeared when the update was finished.

I got the same update notice today but didn’t have time to sit around so I just shut off the truck and left. Not sure if it finished or not when the truck was off.

I think it does.
Hopefully things get better!! If it ain't broke.. Don't fix it. LOL.. 🤣🤣

I ain't skeerd. I hit the okay button without flinching. 🤣 I figured if it fucks up my truck, I will be able to go on a multi-paragraph rant without being judged. 🤣

I still think the different years of Uconnect, each with slightly different software, is a valid concern when updating the system. Not to mention that NOT ONE SINGLE TRX has that STUPID passenger screen (as if no one has a phone nowadays!) which I am sure is part of the problem (ad's etc.) One that I would lay money on, that @RamCares and Stelantis has no clue about! This whole thing as we have all stated is a real cluster...It blows my mind why they can't simply role us back...But I digress...

What software version is your stsyem showing now?

Ram doesn't care much about the current TRX. There are a relatively few number of us, we've already bought, and there isn't a current TRX (yet) that these types of problems are going to directly affect sales of.

Nonetheless, I propose we all go test Tungstens, RHOs and other high end Ram trucks. Then, relay to the salesman that you've heard there's a nightmare situation with TRX and their buggy Uconnects and that you couldn't own a vehicle with such an unreliable infotainment system. Ask the salesman point blank if Ram has its shit together. When he says he's not heard of the problem or that Ram has it under control, point to this thread, tell him you're skeptical and leave. Reports of these types of interactions by dealers will make a bigger impact than our bitching on a forum.

That sounds like a lot of work.....for basically the same result as bitching on a forum.

One question and one comment regarding your post:

(1) Why stay loyal to RAM (or Stellantis for that matter) after this treatment/and lack of support?

(2) I wouldn't trust a car salesmen to "know or tell" me the truth about anything. And they certainly aren't going to care about me "after I've bought". It's just not in their DNA.

Here is a new fuck up I was getting the past few days,,, the "Edit Pages" menu bar from the Home Screen was carrying over to CarPay's screen and coving up the apps selection in the CarPlay menu bar.. Soft Reset did not fix the issue.

Last night I went into the setting menu and selected restart uconnect of some shit and it seemed to fix it.. Who know if it will come back again today though..
