New screen with update?

I think I figured this whole thing out... This was a Carlo T. planned update (pre Tim K.) that was shelved, then some pissed off tranny at Stelantis decided to push it out, in an effort to take our Masculine Alpha trucks, and try to change them into tranny trucks, by simply saying that they are...even showing selfies on Uconnect, trying to convince us...

Boy the length these perverts will go to try to justify their perverion...But they certainty don't know this group of Alphas! We will get our way...keep it up guys! 🇺🇲

There are two threads going on regarding this piece of shit update.
But, but, but, RAM cares. If they really did, they'd back out this update.

I worked in IT for over 40 years. We always had a backout plan to "whatever" version was working before we started. Used it many times over the years. Stuff happens.
Still waiting. It's been out since August of 24...

I just want to make sure I am correct in all this, and I am sure this may help others. I am thinking of doing this since I have not had this update yet.

What is needed: I purchase the cable from Amazon and I use AlfaOBD to make some changes, that is all I need? I saw something about WiTech in the PDF but I am guessing because we are removing we do not need, or this is what AlfaOBD is for.

This will not have any issues on if the very unlikely chance I need to go to the dealer for something and they plug in, this telematics is just something completely different?

Last question, most instructions with electrical say to disconnect battery and I understand the safety side and doing at my own risk but is this really needed to make the removal work?
I didn't disconnect the battery but I like to live dangerously. No Witech needed and I've taken mine to the dealership since with no ill effects.

The hardest part is the bolt closest to the radio, there is just very little access. A flexible ratcheting box end wrench is the way to go for that one. The main cable that connects to the TM box has a latch on it that you need to pry with a screwdriver. That took me a while to figure out.

Other than that, it's pretty straight forward. Look at the 5thgen forum post on all this and the alfaobd settings are posted there. (Not sure about crossposting to another forum on here).

We need TK's Garage and Butter da Insider to shine a light on this to humiliate Ram and Mopar to get this fixed. They will probably panic due to trying to market new vehicles.

Actually, this update (U29.44) has only been out since April 10 of this year…
It came out actually July of 24 in the Jeep and for some reason the jeeps got updated to a newer version but they sent that version to our trucks so explain that?

Speaking strictly to the DT 1500’s, which didn’t get it until last month.

They already know it was released to DT’s in error, and are working on a new version. There isn’t even a TSB for it. Unless you want them to rush out the new corrected version without thoroughly testing it, and then everyone will cry about THAT…

They need compentent people on it who work correctly AND quickly. It should be escalated and they should be embarassed.

Just got an email this morning wanting me to pay for a Nav system update. Yeah right, I'm going to pay them to fu%&-up my Nav system too. :ROFLMAO:

MY24.U35.26 update to replace 29.44 should be coming shortly. Other 1500 owners started receiving yesterday.
Unfortunately that ain’t gonna fix what everyone here specifically is bitching about. I have that exact version in my truck and it has RHO graphics and the drive mode selection is still glitchy.

Only reason I’m even using this radio is because it has an active SXM trial. Once that’s gone I’m going back to one on T27.46 since that actually works correctly in a TRX.
