More TRX trucks stolen from SHAP

Asking my guys about it now. They were telling me the Stellantis CEO is at the plant this morning. I bet he not happy about this
Fucking doubt it. Those fucks have known about this security issue since the RAM TRX hit showrooms. I hope thieves steal 100 trucks a fucking day including my own just to fuck over RAM. MAYBE then and only then will they give enough fucks to fix the cloning issue. Fuck.

Incompetence at the highest level.

The fix could be so simple from RAM and Stellantis side……how many trucks stolen, not only around the country but straight from under your nose before you take action and protect your property and customers

What was the Quote? I have USAA as well
I had USAA until I bought the TRX. My family have been members since my late father flew T6’s in Korea and I have not made a claim, other than a minor deer hit in over a decade. We had homeowners insurance with them until they dropped us by quadrupling the premium. I had never made a claim on the policy in the 25 years that I had owned the house. Kept the auto policy with them through nothing more than inertia. Got the quote on the TRX and finally had enough of USAA. Should have dumped them years ago. Went with Amica and saved a fortune.…literally 40%.

Hey guys! I'm new here and soon to be a TRX owner. Well I guess I'm already an owner as it's paid for. I'm in Canada and ordered a 21 from another province. It should be here in a week or so. Reading this thread, why is it so easy to steal a TRX ? I hope that's not a dumb question lol

There are a few reasons.
It's easy to clone a fob with a relay you can get out on the web. If the key is within range, ping it, start the truck, drive off.
You can also bust the window, force the vehicle out of park, and load it up on a flatbed and drive away.
Etc., etc., .etc.

I knew about breaking the window but not cloning the key fob. Is Ram aware of the problem? Are they doing anything about it ?

Wow, Stolen right from under his nose. Hopefully this drives home 2 points:

a) These vehicles are highly targeted because they are easy to steal.
b) It's a bad idea to leave them sitting around, unsecured.

Why doesn't Ram allow owners to pick up their trucks from the assembly plant? Other manufacturers do it; the logistics have been established and the red tape has already been navigated. Seems like a win-win-win situation. Ram makes more money (they get to keep the $1800 destination charge for doing nothing), customers are happier because they get their vehicles sooner, and RAM doesn't have a huge liability sitting around.
Dealer needs to do title paperwork, proof of insurance, pre delivery inspection, set up u-connect, ETC. They would have to open a whole department to take care of all those things.

mine has been waiting to get shipped for 13 days now, wouldn’t doubt it if mine got stolen

Keys were in the trucks, missed that in the post (must have been telepathy on your part). Sounds like I need to head to Sterling Heights for a free TRX!
But outside the storage lots....... there is a BIG difference between 2 guys driving around with a laptop, break a side window, crawl in and start the truck in 2-3 minutes. Compared to the public spectacle of dragging the TRX up onto a flat bed tow truck........or crawling under it, jacking up the back, placing the trollies under the back tires and lifting the front. It also depends on where the truck is parked.

The trick is making it more difficult (not impossible) to steal, compared to something else. If its just inevitable, we should all leave our trucks unlocked with the key in it and leave our houses unlocked too. I don't subscribe to "inevitable".
Funny you say that, I don’t even know where my house keys are. I’ve lived at this house for 27 years and have never locked the doors. My Shop doors don’t even have locks on them. I leave my cord and trucks in the shop with the keys in them.

Uh, oh. Are you suggesting that I don't do that?
Not a good idea in the era of "Lets Go Brandon"! But just think, if you do catch someone breaking into your truck or house and YOU take "action" against them....YOU will go to jail. We can thank the libs for this fuckingmess!

What is your address? ;) I may be exploring a new career in crime.....If I get caught maybe a slap on the wrist and a weekend picking up trash on side of the road. Then back in business!

That would be a YES.....and hard NO!

Making me want to stick a brick of C4 on the underside of my vehicle every night when I go to bed. Yeah you can take it, but boy are you gonna regret it.
100% !
