Truth, for example; the new car 7 year / unlimited miles that would expire in 2028 whether you buy today or 2 years because they go by the original in service date.
Now.... there ARE preowned Maxcare warranties with the same coverage as new car Maxcare warranties, that you can buy and do start from date of purchase, but... are they cheaper? That's debatable and most typically are not, and I'd in typical cases recommend buying the new car warranty vs preowned
Here's why: The older the vehicle and the more miles on the vehicle, the higher premiums are, Think of it Just like health insurance. Also, since I used the above 7year / unlimited miles, ill use that for following case, comparing apples to apples. The best comparable you can get to that is 4years / unlimited miles. (The 7 year isn't in the preowned)
Let's just say that you waited 3 years for your factory warranty to expire, and have just over 36k miles. You'd only be able to buy (4years) until the year 2028, just like you would with the new care warranty, only diff is that it's $740 more and this is *IF FCA doesn't increase rates over the next 3 years (we know they will lol).
