Modding And Meandering ...

They look very nice. Do they actually reduce the buffeting noise or are just for show?
If you open the window an inch, you get significantly less wind noise. Doesn't change the noise if the window is all the way open.

Its biggest advantage is on rainy days, you can open the window an inch and don't have to worry about rain coming in but get air flow.

So I think I'm going to instal the Mopar retractable steps.

I'm too lazy to go through all the threads on them ... so tldr, do they automatically sync up with the infotainment system so I can override them or do I have to have the dealership do it through an aux kill switch?

From what others have posted. It works thru the uconnect4, and you can override them from there.

Dealership can flash the UConnect software to include them for your VIN, then they are accessible on screen.

Lockerdown, they took the order and then said they had to cancel because of a vendor problem. Said it could take around 4 weeks more.

Just as an fyi cause I think your dealer might be fibbing or be ill informed ...

My service dept ordered my set Tuesday morning (thanks for the coupon) and they got it today. Truck is with them now and will be installed by tomorrow morning. So three days from order to instal.

Wow. Thats great! You will beat me to the power steps. I called yesterday morning and they hadn't arrived and then they called back a few hours later saying that they had arrived. Usually how that works haha. I have a feeling they came in sooner and no one called me. I am set up to have them installed 5/1. They couldn't do a sooner Saturday.

To throw some more info out there. I got quoted 3 hours labor at $139 an hour. Mopar instructions say 2-3 hours. Maybe they do it in 2 hours but won't hold my breath.

Not sure if they're using the coupon or some other discount, or no discount at all, but they basically said $2k out the door for the steps and instal. Seemed decent enough a price not to nickel and dime them over it as they really take care of me both with sales and service.

Hmm. I am coming in at just shy if $1800 with the coupon. They had quoted me about $2,030 before the coupon.

The running board list price is $1575 - coupon + labor.

@OkieTRX80 shared some pretty useful inside info with us here: https://www.ram-trx.com/threads/where-you-guys-getting-your-power-mopar-steps-from.1749/post-37982

That coupon through Mopar website is pats and labor. Present it when you check out.

also make sure they are billing you list on those boards. I bought mine at 1300.00. Some dealers like to matrix them.
Oh I agree, they had me at 2,900 steps, install, complete set of black lug nuts. I actually started laughing!( Young man I know you have a job to do, but geez! ) Give me some credit!!😂😆 no ball cap, Mopar duffel bag??? Very small dealership, in a low income border town. Other than that everything went great. Tech is going to check the truck out again when installing steps.👍👍👍

ohh wow, I didn't know it was for labor too. Thanks. I will try to see if they take it. It says may not cover installation price so my dealer may use it as an out.

Quick q ...

One of the techs at the dealership wants to buy my stock running boards for his truck.

How much are these things worth?
I can’t find another set for sale for reference..

82215508AC is for the steps - $995
82216078AB is for the rock rails - $1195

Steps are going for around 700 on various mopar accessory sites. Rock rails are going for 1100 on mopar accessory sites.

I'm selling my rock rails for $400.

Hope that helps.
