NEW JLT 3.0 Oil Separators (Passenger Side) for 2021+ Ram TRX Hellcat 6.2L (2021, 2022, 2023, 2024)! (Detailed Info / Feedback)

I haven't heard of that being an issue and we've sold these for so many types of cars since J&L has a huge offering. I would definitely ask your local dealer about this. If anything, this is preserving the engine more than doing any harm to it.
Any idea why car manufacturers don't make the catch can as part of their build?

Excuse my ignorance, but what are the cons of having a catch can (besides, possibly warranty issues that might arise from it)? Are there any performance degradations (i.e. loss in horsepower)?

Only downside is the maintenance. And that’s one of the big reasons they are not installed from the factory.

The average owner feels inconvenienced enough by servicing their vehicle as it is. Can’t expect them to pop the hood every month or two to empty the can too. The best they could do was design oil traps into the valve covers…which clearly do not work judging by what I’ve collected in the can.

No cons that I can think of other than forgetting to empty it often. Most do it with every oil change.

I honestly don't sell any car manufacturers doing this anytime soon.

Have any black ones in stock?

Mine came in last Wed. looks like it's gonna take all of 10 minutes if being super careful. Putting one on a Redeye Challenger is bout as long

If you live in a cold climate, you may want to check your oil separator every 1,000 miles or so. Mine was full after 1500 miles and who knows how long it has been full. I do remote start my truck each morning and most afternoons, if that matters.

I ordered an extended bottom to be safe.

I’m probably going to install it on the dealers lot when I pick it up.

You have to buy it separately. I got mine on eBay.

Thanks. Just grabbed one on Amazon.
