"Insanely Fast Raptor R" ?

The TRX will def have the advantage of all time 4WD, better gearing. The R will not have a chance with off the line acceleration. I think they went a little overboard with the 8's all over the truck. That price point is Bullshit. But at least Ford is willing to give the TRX a run for its money.
Chevy staying at home with the garage door shut like always!
The reason ford and chevy aren't too worried is that they know they have some serious fanboys that won't even look at what else is out there. They are too busy sucking on the exhaust pipe of their precious POS. I have been around some of these people before and its amazing how ignorant they are when it comes to any other brand other than their own. I have owned almost every brand and will always go to the one that has the best at that time.

The 400lb advantage the R has will probably be negated by the 37” tires. This makes it a drivers race. Ram claims 0-60 in 4.5 seconds, but most of us have seen that or a pinch better. What I truly want to see is an in depth comparison from somebody that knows how to drive, and see them put through their paces. Let’s not only see 0-60, but desert racing, mountain climbing, Moab, towing, and a fuel economy lap.

I personally think the R is going to be a great truck. But I’ve already seen one order on the Raptor forum for $111,000. For that money the truck better be more than just equal to the TRX. It better stomp the shit out of it!

I used to be a Ford fanboy in the 90's and early 00's and still have two fox bodies. What turned the tide really for me was an '01 Durango R/T, it never left me walking and I can't say that for Ford or the general. I compared everything when looking for a truck in 2015 and Ram was just so much better with the interior at the time. I was so disappointed in the F150 interior and the power was lacking compared to a normal hemi. When I was looking to replace my '16 Ram I wanted a Trackhawk and knew nothing of the TRX but soon learned. We bought the TRX and Ford could have made a 1,000hp Raptor and I wouldn't switch because it is lacking in so many other areas mainly the interior.

If I was comparison shopping the two the price and interior would still drive me to the TRX. I don't feel bad for the Ford guys but man that must be a huge letdown. Might just go order an incognito to make sure if I run across a R that they won't beat me.

I can't wait for TFL to get a hold of one and do their usual tests on it. I bet you they also do multiple side by sides with the TRX. I really can't see how the Raptor R will pull out some unexpected surprise. I expect them to perform similarly, thus the Ford losing the comparison test based on price/value.

Except the kid will be in love with it and still hate on the TRX.

I'm back again after 6 months.

Yes, I still miss my TRX (Traded it for a new Hellcat Challenger about 6 months ago.) But I love so many things about the Challenger too. Actually I was waiting on the new Raptor to be formally announced... I've never been a FORD guy but would have considered getting a Raptor to go with my Challenger (I've got plenty of room in my garage.) But too many negatives are now known to just jump on the waiting list.... I had hoped it would have fixed the things I didn't like and/or wanted in the TRX. I like the idea of the 10 speed auto, the lighter weight and better gas mileage than the TRX but it comes with a significantly higher price tag (which I could live with) and a lower top speed (112mph) which I can't live with. I guess if I want another super truck I'm going to have to mod it myself, which I didn't want to do. No rush since I've got (and will keep the Challenger) and I've got a 2019 RAM Hemi 4x4 for my truck needs. I guess I'll wait until I see some real life comparison road test before deciding which way to go. More waiting,,,,

RAM social media team knows how to have fun, that's for sure.

Hopefully soon they will post ONEHUNDREDTWO more powerful.

Well I had planned to buy the next raptor v8 before I even bought my TRX(Always wanted the hellcat motor which is why I bought the TRX as it fit my wants and needs plus I needed a truck bed), but with the price and the dumb 10 speed it looks like I'll just buy another TRX. I just hope they come out with a 37 package from the factory to match the Raptor R. Yes Yes I can add 37's easy, but while it's under warranty I prefer to keep 100% stock.

Why do you prefer the Raptor 10speed trans over the TRX's?

I never am able to keep anything stock. More power to you

The guy Andre has FORD tattooed between his asscheeks for sure. The TRX earned their respect but they aren't RAM fans to say the least
Andre actually said he preferred the TRX and would take the TRX over the Raptor 37 when he did the head to head review when the 37 launched. He and Roman both have said they like the TRX suspension a bit more even compared to the Fox 3.1s on the 3rd gen Raptor & Raptor 37.

I think the TRX 8 speed is great but I'd hope for a little better acceleration out of a 10 speed... (and a lighter truck) But maybe not... Will be interesting to see the early road test and opinions of the new Raptor. Regardless, I'm going to have to mod whatever I get so I can get around the stupid speed limiter, which is primarily why I sold my first TRX. As I've said before, there's nothing more embarrassing to me than to be passed on the highway by some $30k POS car while I'm poking along at 118.

I probably wouldn’t even waste the fuel at that point. Aeros not on your side anyway at 120+ so there’s a legit chance above 120 mph that that $30,000 piece of shit actually does start to catch you which is more embarrassing in my opinion. Just gap em till a hundo and then hit the E-lights.

Honest question, not being snarky: Have you driven an F150 with the 10-speed transmission? I've been in one for a couple years now. It's not bad. But it's also not good. 3-4 is sloppy on pre-2021 trucks. And despite all the gears available, the programming keeps it from smoothly staying in the powerband. Maybe it's programmed like that for mileage. But at any rate, I would also think "Yeah, 10 gears should be an awesome tranny!" But in practicality, the Ford 10-speed is less than awesome.

Love his perspective, "FIRE THEM ALL!" and summarizing much of what we've discussed...]]

...including the apathetic 'finished product' considering the time and hype...but bewildered at the 700hp when minimal effort could have pushed it to a headline stat (and in turn motivated RAM to release an all conquering Redeye TRX).

Pic: Rough mock-up... pending wife's Cricet machine cutting this timely addition in 3M reflective.

I think if the Raptor R was faster than TRX in 0-60 Ford would’ve advertised that in every possible way, When Andre from TFL asked Ford Engineer about 0-60 he said this doesn’t matter as we are focusing on a better off-road performance or experience, So I believe TRX will be faster in 0-60 and top speed as well as the Wrangler Territory tire can handle higher speeds than BFG K02 can.
