I had IGLA for 5 Days. What you should know before installing.

It does if installed without IGLA but not like he is saying, it just relay drops the start circuit until unarmed. There is a new mopar push to start relay setup that kills tge pts button until unarmed and then if you don’t start it in time it times out the pts again.
well I stand corrected!

The compustar remote is not the same as an oem fob that is constantly sending and receiving.
I keep on hearing that but proximity unlock is still a feature for the Compustar so it has to be transmitting data all the time right? I know newer fobs have sleep mode when there is inactivity. Wondering if Compustar has that feature.

Is there any documented evidence of the Compustar or Igla fob security?

Where can you get the new MOPAR push to start relay?

I posted here somewhere after someone asked about the IGLA fobs. They are high end encrypted bluetooth not am/fm like a oem fob. As for the compustar remote I will look into it. The proximity only picks up about 6 feet or less normally so someone cloning that signal would be real difficult

so I think what you’re saying is it’s virtually impossible to amplify or clone the fobs for Compustar and igla vs the oem fobs. I’m guessing prox unlock is a different signal broadcast bc the fob claims to be able to broadcast 3miles or what not.

Compustar tech support acted like I was talking Chinese when I asked them these questions but if the fobs can still be amplified there is still a very large hole in protection. No sense in spending all this money imo if they aren’t more secure.

Where can you get the new MOPAR push to start relay?
They are sold out nationwide unless you find someone with one for sale online. The current model is not being made anymore from what I hear. There is a version 2 coming out very soon. I have a few in stock and know someone with some too but we use them for installs

I said the IGLA fob is encrypted bluetooth, I said I would look into the compustar. They are not setup like modern oem car fobs. They don’t constantly send and receive. You need to press the button to send the signal. Proximity is in the vehicles new Compustar antenna that looks for the remote and when in range it unarms. There is a separate module that you can add to a compustar and add proximity. I have never heard of a compustar fob being cloned or relayed

I'm not a RAM owner, rather the owner of another very commonly stolen vehicle type, which is also a truck. Recently one of the two trucks my family owns was stolen., less than 3 years old, in the middle of the day at a restaurant. Took less than 4 minutes to enter, take the truck and then disable the factory alarm while driving down the road. I have searched high and low looking for an after market security system to put on the replacement 2024 that isn't a Ravelco (had one stolen in the mid 90s with that installed). This forum has provided me more information than any other that I could find and the system was installed today. I feel better with the system, but I also understand that nothing is 100%. I feel comfortable that it wont walk in the manner that the last one did. For the OP, my only comment is that security is never convenient, but if you're willing to assume the risk that is your right. I wasn't at all happy with the insurance payout. I lost quite A LOT of money as the insurance company wouldn't cover many of the after market items on the vehicle. Good luck to you! Thanks for the info provided on this forum and Air'd outSRT.

Can you provide a little more detail on this new relay? Is it a new release from Mopar to try and curb thefts? Do dealerships know about it? When did it release?

No, compustar relay setup for their systems and for most newer mopars. Fca doesn’t care about our vehicles unfortunately.

@LDN No plans to use the fob other than when the vehicle has to be serviced. No plans to use the app either. We don't understand the concerns expressed for having to enter the code; easy peasy.....

@LDN No plans to use anything other than the pin. The only time we plan to use the fob is when it the vehicle has to be serviced (fobs still in the box). Easy peezy and not an inconvenience at all. I run a tech team for a corporate network. Security is never convenient. Just another step in the process for us. Never thought I'd be a victim, but I guess it's not a matter of if, rather when. My family has owned in excess of 15 vehicles for this particular non ram model (GMC). I'm also having the solution installed on another one of my GMC vehicles. We have also taken other precautionary measure in addition to this solution. I have a lot of money tied up in these vehicles, as we all do. I'm also a foreign made vehicle owner. If its not GMC or foreign made I typically don't own it. Although, the RAMs are gaining ground for my family. Perhaps soon, who knows. Never say never!

Not sure if you meant to reply to me, but I'm already a big fan of pin-only IGLA :)

Don’t give the fob to anyone especially the service place. Make a temporary pin and give it to the service manager only and then change it when you pick it back up. That lets them be able to put it into service mode if needed

I don't recall the reason for not giving the fob to the service place.

It will be with your oem fob and no pin needed. Look up “6 hellcats stolen in 42 seconds” thats what happens when thieves get your oem fob, it will be as if no IGLA is installed, get in, start it and go. If you temp pin code it and give it to the service manager only then if it is stolen he is the one at fault.

I see - I have told them not to keep with OEM and not to leave in car etc but prob naive to think they would comply.

Thanks for the advise. We had a hard time trying to find someone in our area that could do the installation on our vehicle make. This product seems to be targeted to dodge.

That is a train wreck of a post! My browser didn't refresh correctly. But yes, thank you!

Negative, it’s available for several hundred different vehicles, in the US mopar is the most popular and most hit vehicles. What vehicle? Location?

I'm in Houston Texas. It's finding a dealer that has completed the install on GMC 2500 diesel trucks. Very limited number of installers in this area.
