I had IGLA for 5 Days. What you should know before installing.

With your setting of starter inhibit off, if you do that and then shut off the vehicle does it start up again and if yes does the brake still stay on even in park? or can you turn it off? (without punching in the code).
If you shut it off you can restart it like normal and it will allow you to move from park only if its within about 10 seconds of you shutting it off. If its more than the 10 seconds it resets and will lock in park again

well just had IGLA installed - paddle shifters are available - fairly easy to change code - i think i'll do that when in for service and pick an easier code (rather than use fob which has a large enough range to allow theft while at the dealer). didn't get any info on the app for phone as install location said it was discouraged by company - really the code seems best option - i did have to write everything down on code changing as i would never remember the convoluted steps required. i will leave batteries out of the fob and store in a safe somewhere - overall it is about the same amount of time and trouble as the ravelco - this is a garaged car so remote start doesn't factor in. ravelco use to be 650-850 (depending on installer) but now ravelco reportedly charges installers retail price for the unit so total is prob about 850-1050 - IGLA with tax and credit card fee was 1355 in Tennessee. now that i have tried both i would say maybe worth the 300-400 extra if remote start is needed - otherwise its a wash for me as both serve the intended purpose - with either of these its almost impossible to steal the vehicle without loading on a flatbed (i think both claim to be undefeated).

The instructions to change the pin should be on the card that was given to you with the emergency code on it

Are you saying that the paddle shifters can be used in the code sequence ?

I did not know this… if true, that’s awesome!

My installer did not give me a card with an emergency code, is there a different way to find out what it is? Installed in Houston.
He should have gave it to you. Contact him and have him atleast scratch the emergency code and text it to you. If you forget your pin you will need it to make another. Making a new pin is easy though. Turn ignition on by pressing twice, put your pin in, hold gas to floor and put in pin again, it should start flashing hazards every 2-3 seconds, release gas. Put your new pin in, it should flash 3 times, put same pin again and it will flash 2 times if its the same pin, 4 if it isn’t or if it didn’t work right. Turn it off and it will be changed.
You will need the emergency code because without that card you would have to take it to the installer again to have him gain access to the IGLA and put it into learn mode in order to make a new pin.

Card looks like this (one of my cards from one of my vehicles)

Totally agree with your conclusions. The only thing I'll add is the IGLA also blocks someone from erasing/adding keys. I figured that was worth a little premium as well. And there is no modification to the interior needed.

yes - forgot to mention the key erasing and adding block - alas i will end up with mainly ravelco - i have to drive 2 1/2 hours for a IGLA install and the ravelco guy comes to my house - tried to get a local shop interested in ravelco but no dice.

meant to say tried to get local shop interested in IGLA installing but they didn't bite.
