Ah gotcha, thanks for the clarification! Its all vehicle dependent. Its just recommended so the false faults don’t come up

So what is your process exactly? It's odd you have to wait for the guages to sweep. I do the code as soon as the truck starts and it works for me.
So you don't have the non-start setting on. What is your process for getting in and when do you enter the code? How long is (any) delay? Most if not all your issues I believe could’ve been solved by reaching out to your installer.
I personally have it set to start before entering PIN code and that helps save some time from waiting. It still retains the transmission lockout.
I had some odd action with the remotes my first day. My installer made sure to update everything and has been working for almost a year.
Who did your installation if you don’t mind sharing?
Start truck, directly to code input, unfold mirrors, put in drive. I'll get a video next time I start the truckSo what is your process exactly?

Start truck = engine on? So your engine turns on with no code?Start truck, directly to code input, unfold mirrors, put in drive. I'll get a video next time I start the truck
Yes, it will start like normal with the factory fob but will be stuck in park until the code is entered. It lets the Uconnect app remote start work as it should. Other car brands and models are set like that too like toyota/lexus.Start truck = engine on? So your engine turns on with no code?
Assume you have just got the gear shifter lock enabled then
Correct, it's set up for auto park/ shifter lock like @Air’d outSRT mentioned.Start truck = engine on? So your engine turns on with no code?

I really appreciate your help, and had I decided to keep the alarm, changing that setting would have been my next step. I still had concerns about dealer service and my wife being able to use the truck after the fobs proved unreliable. I decided that since I was about to talk to the installer the next day about uninstalling, I did not want to monkey with any settings. Last thing I wanted was finger pointing that "Well it doesn't work the way you wanted because you monkeyed with it." And there was none of that, so mission successful.I sent him the information to set it up that way and he didn’t want to do it![]()
The pin code can be 3-20 buttons, you don’t have to do some long intricate sequence of button presses, it could have been 3 random ones with the starter inhibit off. Quick, secure and wouldn’t slow you down a bit.I really appreciate your help, and had I decided to keep the alarm, changing that setting would have been my next step. Mine was 4 buttons. It did slow me down, and I had other concerns already stated. The pin code can be 3-20 buttons, you don’t have to do some long intricate sequence of button presses, it could have been 3 random ones with the starter inhibit off. Quick, secure and wouldn’t slow you down a bit.![]()
The screen changing MAY have been a deal breaker for me. I didn't know about that and I can be slightly OCD on occasion, so thanks for the info.Mine was 4 buttons. It did slow me down, and I had other concerns already stated.Plus the buttons still function as normal while entering the PIN, so it changed my dash screen every time I entered the PIN. That's annoying. I want my dash screen the same every time I drive.
IGLA doesn't have to be a religion. It can be OK that some people prefer a product and others do not, and nobody is an idiot for it.
Think the book calls it Engine Start Inhibit. I have this off. Transmission lockout is always engaged until IGLA is authorized. So you don't have the non-start setting on. What is your process for getting in and when do you enter the code? How long is (any) delay?
To be fair, you could set the PIN to be things that don't change the screen, or at least I assume you could. I know the paddles can be used. There are probably combos that don't change the screen. My desired PIN did though. I also could have found a new PIN, I suppose. The screen changing MAY have been a deal breaker for me. Do you have to wait for your gauges to sweep and come back to nominal before entering the PIN? There seems to be some folks that do not. That would be a big advantage. I had to wait quite a while, or risk a false fault thrown on the dash. I would let the gauges sweep from 0 to 100% to 0 and then let the gas gauge come back to it's normal reading, and THEN I knew I could enter the PIN without causing a fault.Think the book calls it Engine Start Inhibit. It seems really natural to me. I jump in the truck, hit the brake and start it, enter my pin, wait a second for flashes to confirm, then shift into drive and off I go. Maybe 5-6 seconds total from entering the truck. Might be slightly longer if your own pin is long I would guess.

If you can get it setup like some people here have, with their phone or the fob making it seamless, and you don't mind the few limitations, then it's probably a great system.
As a general rule, any button that communicates on the canbus can be used. I think the aux switches are fair game.Again, really glad this thread exists for the discussion point!
Does someone have a list of all the buttons that can be used as an IGLA code on the TRX? e.g. any aux buttons? Overhead lights? blinkers? paddle shifters? some are silly examples. But would be good to get a comprehensive list.
