I AM LIVID

Join me by filing a complaint online to the NC attorney General and let's do it for every dealer that pulls a bait and switch anywhere in the country (of course file with the respective state)

Not to rain on everyone's parade, but don't you have to prove that you were told one price and then given another when you showed up at the dealership as in my prior email about getting everything in writing before showing up to take delivery? Sounds like, "He said, she said" to me.

FYI, I do still have one on order. Some of you may have seen my thread about another dealer refusing to return my deposit. I ended up deciding to keep it after finally receiving a VIN but after reading about all the supply chain issues I was ready to buy any reasonably priced TR2.
So did you actually lose your deposit? If so that really sucks because that dealer will turn around and sell the truck to someone else.

I thought they had the price listed on the website. And then confirmed it in a text message or verbally. That to me would constitute an offer.

Well there is always that. And that’s exactly why I had my dealer put the price in writing on the bottom of the POC and he signed it. Once he signed the doc it became binding. I was insistent that he document it because they gave me a great deal and I did not want to show up months later to get the truck and the sales guy is gone and no one knows about the agreed upon deal.

I should have gotten it in text. It was on the phone she confirmed the price. Whatever. I wouldn’t buy one for invoice from them now I’m so mad.

If he wants a sale, he will do what you ask. This is how I operating with the last three cars I bought as outlined in my prior response. There is no recourse once you have in writing or you walk away. and leave them holding the bag so to speak.

I requested a "Buyers Order" when I did my TRX deal. That way there are no surprises. I have a "Legal Document" with the agreed sale price.
No changing the price when the TRX arrives.

Sorry that happened to you. I can say it happened to me both in 2018 with the Raptor and then again in 2020 with the TRX. Both times I bought a MSRP deal the next day. Look forward (somewhere else) and F those people.

I had the same thing happen to me on a Camaro deal I had with Terry Labonte Chevy in Greensboro. Took half a day of vacation did the drive and got there and they bait and switched. Complete and total waste of my time. BUT that wound up being a good thing because a week later I went to the other Chevy dealer there and wound up with an even better deal on a car that had everything I wanted on it. On the first one I was settling. So maybe the “there’s a reason for everything” good karma will come your way.

Hey Mike, are you familiar with Billsburg Brewery. Nice quiet little place in your area. The owner gave the personal tour/history of how they came about. It’s a really interesting story.

Kudos to you for not settling with the shitty dealership.

I know where it's at....The owner David “Dave” Eisele Baum died a year ago....But the brewery lives on...
