I AM LIVID

We have an MSRP dealership tracker. Maybe we should also have a turd bag dealership tracker. We have had a few of those morally bankrupt dealerships come on the forum to try and sell their trucks with large ADM. I think the consensus from the group is they should go pound sand. I can tell you when I started this process I called quite a few dealerships to see who had a stock order that was not spoken for. Out of all of the dealership I called only one asked for ADM for their stock order. It was only $5k but it told me something about their dealership and I can tell you I will never step foot in that dealership or any other dealership in their group just to make my point that I believe ADM is a morally bankrupt process and it is my belief they will rip you off on every other transaction you try to do with them be it part or service in the form of price gouging or just add a few extra hours to the ticket or maybe sell you parts you don’t need.

I would have turned down their gas money, sued them for the gas and time and for grins slapped a TRO on them preventing them from selling it to anyone else.
Gotta say I like the cut of your jib

I got up at 6 in the morning and drove 2 hours to Keffer RAM in Charlotte, NC after being lied to by a sales rep on the phone about the price of this truck. I confirmed with Chesley Holston last night that TRX 902665 was on site, for sale, at $90,XXX. I explained to her that I would be driving 2 hours in the morning to get there and buy it first thing when they opened.

I got there and signed the credit app and she disappeared for a while and came back with a sheet. She said they wanted to hold of running my credit until agreeing on a price (as I was getting a notification from Mint and Chase that a credit inquiry had been made.)

She laid down the sheet with a $20,000 ADM and I lost it. I am a very polite and respectful person as I work in retail and understand how awful people can be. Well, that went right out the window. I told them I drove there to pay the advertised price plus their obnoxiously marked up ceramic coating of $4,XXX, which was not mentioned anywhere.

I went back in forth with a sales manager, Dalton Tassinari, to attempt to negotiate the asinine ADM that I was lied about and got no further than 10k. I demanded to talk to whoever he was talking to and spoke to Julius Tindell, another sales manager who essentially blamed Chesley for the whole thing.

Obviously it’s not all of her fault. They know exactly what they are doing. Bating people in with a false price and hoping they either pay it or buy something else. I am so angry and will never purchase ANYTHING from them or their auto group. Not that they care. I’m sure I’m just another “Karen” to them, but at least I’m not a crook. I’ll absolutely be contacting Stellantis, whether they care or not. Had to ask Dalton multiple times for his card. He was clearly hoping I’d forget it.

If any of them are on here, thanks for ruining one of my few days off. I hope nobody buys that truck from you.

edit: I forgot to add, they did give $40 for gas. Gee, thanks.

I just bought the exact same truck at MSRP. Not that one but same color with graphics.

I apologize if I missed something in this chat feed, but maybe should have secured something in writing from the dealership confirming the price you wanted to pay and they agreed to before making the trip to the dealership??

What a scum bag dealership. Bad reputation is a stain not easily removed. Sorry you had to go through that man. Thanks for sharing to save someone else from that experience. I've had a couple of these encounters myself and its is very sad and reflects very poorly on Ram as a brand that they make no efforts to stop this behavior and protect their customers.

Have you ever asked for a dealership for anything in writing which would benefit you? I have only had one willing to do it. Even simple shit like “just give me something saying my deposit is refundable”

I have. I purchased a new 2013 Chrysler 300 negotiating the price through emails. Printed the emails off and walked in with them into the dealership when I was there to take delivery of the vehicle. In 2010, I purchased a new Lexus IS250 . Same deal. Car dealers are crooks. Need to hold them to the letter on what they tell you verbally. We are in the 21st century, all price negotiating is done electronically now and the dealers realize this. If they want your business, they need to honor this, at least Chrysler and Lexus saw it that way. Money talks and Bull Shit walks.. Sorry, forgot to add my Wife's 2017 Kia Sportage. Negotiated with the dealership the sale price based on a down payment of $13K. Then we went in to actually drive the vehicle before signing the paperwork and taking delivery. Dealer held my check for 24 hours saying they were not used to people putting that much money down on a new car. Really??

See. I prefer to negotiate deals in person. Call me old fashioned even though I’m in the techie generation. For important things in business this is followed up in contract obviously

You should file a complaint to the states attorney generals office and the better business bureau
most states have laws against the bait and switch scam

All good man. I do not like being jerked around especially when I have cash to burn and the Customer will always be right.

left them some constructive criticism for a review

This is one reason the track hawk wound up sitting on lots and had to sell well under MSRP. These dealers try to gouge people then they don't sell because nobody will pay that ADM, Then when the stock catches up with demand they already burned everyone so nobody will come back. I hope these crooks get stuck with the truck and have to sell at under MSRP
Well that might be the case with the TRX after this first round of buyers. With all the problems we are seeing it might be best to let some of these sit on the lots and help keep the price at MSRP.

Yep, absolutely. You really should consider reporting them for shady bait-n-switch sales tactics.

I’m thinking of letting my allocation go. Let me know if your interested. It is in Arizona and has a $5k ADM. My truck was by built on 2/10. VIN 4547. Here is the build sheet.

FYI, I do still have one on order. Some of you may have seen my thread about another dealer refusing to return my deposit. I ended up deciding to keep it after finally receiving a VIN but after reading about all the supply chain issues I was ready to buy any reasonably priced TR2.

I'll be in Charlotte in a couple weeks, hopefully with my new truck. But I'll be sure to tell everyone I come in contact with about your bad experience with Keefers.

Simple model - If you can't make money without screwing people your in the wrong line of work, unless it Vegas
