Effective, Inexpensive, Simple Security Device

I'll soon have a 7 part theft prevention security/recovery system for my TRX.

(1) Basic factory security keyless entry/start
(2) 357 Magnum
(3) The Club
(4) 357 Magnum
(5) Mobilistics starter relay
(6) 357 Magnum
(7) Full coverage insurance

I like numbers 2, 4, and 6, but don't you have to be in close proximity to your vehicle for them to be effective?

I really hope I never need those options, but if so, I'm comfortable using them out to maybe 50 yards.

Gotta add an AR into the mix for longer range.

Unfortunately only one will work, well 3, number 2 4 and 6. The others are not theft prevention

Disagree with #7, they will try to screw you on any claims. Strongly agree with all the even numbers though. ha!

Dude, IGLA isn't the only theft protection. Other things provide levels of protection as well. I thought you prided yourself on being brutally honest, but if that's the case then you have to admit that some other devices may very well save a truck.. IGLA may be the best, but some others are fair to good. Even IGLA can be beaten.

But, but, but, I always have my 357 with me. The AR (7.62) is usually in the safe.
Thats what takedown AR’s are for 😉
This is a 300 blackout I put together awhile back

So do I ask the guy stealing my truck to wait a minute while I put my gun together?
Nope, you have it together already, then apart when you place it into a small backpack and walk away. Then back together when you return. Smaller option that has a farther effective range and accuracy. Can always carry something more to your liking 🤷‍♂️

May - yes. For example, the factory alarm will scare away those who don't expect it, are spooked by a horn going off, and not smart enough to rip the wiring off the horns first. The club will deter those who aren't willing/unable to cut the steering wheel and slip it off. The Mobilistics relay will befuddle anyone who isn't familiar with it, or is unable to swap out the starter relays with the wiper relays that live right next to them in the PDC. Ravelco will thwart the thieves who aren't intimately familiar with it, and know how to defeat it. IGLA will defeat most thieves, save those who come with a tow truck, or know exactly where it's located so they can disable it.

Put it this way - if we compare theft protection to ballistic protection, we have:

Factory alarm -> T-shirt that reads "don't shoot!" - stops the honest criminal
Club -> three copies of the New York Times duct-taped to your chest - stops Airsoft projectiles
Mobilistics relay -> Studded leather jacket - MAY stop a .22 short
Ravelco -> Level IIIa soft armor - will probably stop a 9mm
IGLA -> Level 4 with ceramic plates - will stop most AP rounds

Now... if it were you, and you knew you were going to have to walk into a scenario where people WERE going to be shooting at you... which level of body armor are you electing to put on?

No argument with that analysis.

I got thinking about this thread in the past few days and while I agree, extra security is a good thing, but when is "enough", enough? I'm sure the answer is different for each of us but for me, I've been using The Club for years on my Vettes and Hellcat's, and as far as I can tell, I've never even had an attempted break-in. But, because of this thread I order a Mobilistics relay too for my new TRX. Why? Well the Club still provides a visual deterrent and "something of a "delay" in stealing the truck. The addition of the Mobilistics relay will now provide an electronic "control" with a greater "delay/difficulty factor" for a thief. That's enough for me along with the trucks basic security.

I'm actually more concerned about "jealous" people "keying" my paint job or careless people dinging my doors in parking lots, so I try to park away from others. But that's about as much as I'm going to do to protect my truck from all the scumbags/low lifes out there! I'm also not going to let any of that stop me from driving "what I want, where I want and when I want"!

I've been thinking of getting the Club too - another thing to slow them down. I like the visual deterrent aspect of it as well.

Get the better version that goes onto the dash area then and has more than one contact point. More cutting for them. Whether they cut one spot or 4 its still going to need a new steering wheel.
They can still pick the lock but they probably aren’t smart enough to. Round tumbler type is very fast to, around 5 seconds so avoid those.
